The tires are not installed yet. Still have to do some work on those. Right now they are just resting up against the landing gear struts. Haven't posted a picture in a while and wanted to give an update.

Joe, as always, exceptional ... This build has really been a delite for me, and just to see the talanted builders here...Bravo one and all, I hope the Butcher Bird Build is going to be as good, No doubt in my mind! Special thanks to PZL for taking point on this one. I know its been discussed but... Part 2 maybe?

Thanks guys. I'm trying to keep this one moving. having done most of the major construction, I'm just in the progress of fixing up the seams. There are a few that need some work. I've used CA for the main fuselage seam, and the upper to lower wing join, they're done.

The wing to fuselage join is a little problematic, and I've resorted to strip styrene to fill a couple of significant gaps there. Hopefully I can finalise this work tonight. Not shown in the photos but I've also completed construction on the propeller and spinner. BTW, that's a Corsair engine in the 2nd photo, careless of me to leave it in shot.

Ok folks. Just a few odds and ends left. Slowly but surely it's getting there. I aint too worried about the ejector pin marks on the prop base. They aint gonna be seen anyways. If you like filling and sanding those things then Trumpter is the kit for you!

Aero book is a good one! Another I have is Focke-Wulf Fw 90 by Robert Grinsell W / illustrations by Rikyu Watanabe (bought mine on Amazon, used) Not a big thick book but alot of very cool illustrations, photos, and cut away views, and several fold outs. I have a few others but find myself turning to this one for a great starting point.

I would jump in on another 109 build but this 190 thing is going to consume ALOT of time. To me the Eduard kit is not only going to be more enjoyable to build than my Trumpeter 109 but its also going to be more detailed. I have a Zvezda 109 that I would love to build and probably will sometime in 14. I would love to get in another 109 group build eventually though.

Hey mustang, really turning out nice! Glad to see people are still working on 109s. I am just getting back to the bench after a month or so. Vacation, building a new bike, grandson, and other stuff got in the way. Working on a Cyber-Hobby 1/32 Bf110 nightfighter.

Looks like you may have to clean out a parking space in the garage to display that thing. I can't imagine how big the 110 must be. Just out of curiosity what are the dimensions on that bird in 32nd scale? And then there is an offering for a 32nd scale He-111 also. I'm sure thats a monster too. I would like to follow the 110 build though. I do like em.

Tucohoward- I'm not in this GB, but I read of you working on the CH Bf110..  be very careful with the engine and cowling parts- they're all dependent upon each other for the right fit and alignment.  

In other words, a total nightmare of over-engineering (but those engines are sweet).

The rest of the kit falls together with a minimum of fuss.

Alright...I'm FINALLY ready to roll with a 109. Not the Airfix of earlier, but a 1/32 Hasegawa G-14 that I'll build as a tall-tailed, Erla-hooded G-6 in Swiss service.

Still sorting exactly what and how much aftermarket I want to throw at this kit, and I also need to figure out if I want to do J-711 or J-704.

Looking forward to your build Doogs.  For what it's worth, I like the look of J-711 but 714 has a more... unique look/scheme.  I would assume you are going to have to paint the stripes and Swiss emblems, good luck with that Stick out tongue

In 1/32, a Bf 110 has a 19" wingspan. Versus I think 11" for a 109 and ~15" for a Jug. It's big, definitely, but not this big:

J-704 was originally delivered in the standard 74/75/76 but was damaged in a crash in 1945 and subsequently repainted (it also received an Erla hood somewhere along the way). The camo scheme isn't Luftwaffe but Swiss, using Swiss colors.

I'm kinda leaning toward it just because so many 109s are done in the 74/75/76. That and because I wouldn't have to mask the fuselage stripes Stick out tongue

The 1/32 CH Bf110C-7 has a 19 3/4" wingspan and a length of 14 3/4" (call it 15" with the longest barrel in the nose).

with a Hasegawa Bf109 F-2 for comparison

DoogsATX, the Squadron/Signal Walk Around #34 "Messerschmitt Bf109E" has a great section on the Swiss E's that might be of some help on your G....

Hope PZL is doing OK... It'd be nice to see this GB either extended or started anew, Cant wait for the upcoming Fw 190 "Butcher Bird" GB , but always have time for another Me109!
