yeah, the shop owner told me about the trump kit. he was thinking they boxed a G-6 with F-4 box art.

oh yeah, i can have shots for you. if you have the chance to grab one, do it. its a beauty.

Thanks Randyp,,,, Actually the box even shows the wrong squared wheel bays for an F-4,,it kind of drew me too it,,,, I have a pretty good idea what i'm gonna do to correct it,,,seems kinda dumb having to convert a plane variant to what its supposed to be oob    ,,,,,I guess I'm everything they said I would be in grade school     Dunce,,,,some pics will be a great guide so thanks in advance,,,,,,,,,,Big Smile can't wait to see them !!

I think Hans had the right idea,,,I shudda stuck to my old standby,,, Monogram,,,,,

F-4 huh? makes me want to break my hase F-4 trop out. 1/32 also. i think i got a eaglecal sheet for it also.

Could you post some pics??  I know the Trump kit isn't really a F-4 so I'm gonna have to do some mods to the rudder ,wheel bays, and intakes ,,as well a fuel intake placement,,,from what i've read its more like a G variant than a true F-4,,,but I like a challenge so I figured I'd give the Trump kit a whirl,,,,hope it wasn't a mistake,,,,,Sad

Just picked this up at my LHS for $16.

I'll still do an F in Heinz Bar's markings from Russia.

After I finish my 69 Z28/RS I'll be doing a 1/24 Airfix BF109E3 or 4. Done right these are decent kits.

The local hobby store just got a shipment of Tamiya paint so in light of this build I bought all the paint needed.

I also almost bought the 109 that Kurt is going to build, but it was too expensive at the store, maybe in July I will go back and grab it and build two, who knows!

I'm in. This would be my first group build, actually my first posting of a model ever...

I'm going with the 1:48 Zvezda BF-109F-2. Markings will be JG 2's Yellow 8 flown by Fw. Heinz Jahner.

Dayum... The Monogram Me109Es are going pretty high on Ebay.. Too high for this Enemy Ace...

Might have to re-think my kit-choice...

Im still figuring out which paint scheme I am going to do, got my BF109 walkaround book today in the mail and I see one I like but its going to need some tweaking to my liking. Wont be historically accurate but I hope it turns out pretty good....

Oh I know I'll have at least one to throw into this GB, sign me up, kit not yet identified! It may come down to "how much time do I have left"... Embarrassed

I'm actually about 50% of the way through a 109 build right now, but it's irritating me to the point that I'll likely do another one for this GB after I finish a P-47 for Doogs.  The Eduard 1/32 E-4/7 'Balkans' special edition looks great on paper, but the kit is a fitting disaster compared to anything I've built from Hasegawa or Trumpeter.

I've got the highly regarded Hasegawa 1/32 F-4 Trop in the stash, and I send the box longing looks as I struggle through the issues this Eduard kit has.

An update... Looks like the F2 I'm planning will be the Zvezda F2 in 48. Looks like a heck of a kit! Not sure yet what configuration. Might just do a simple dio... Marking TBD but definitely a trop...

That's got me thinking Hans (seeing that paint scheme/marking on #7), I have an "A" version by Classic Airframes I picked up from a LHS,  I'd been holding on to that one until my skills were honed better but man I'd love to build it.

monogram kit..knew it would be Hans.

Was there ever any doubt? Stick out tongue

Truthfully, I have several other 1/48 Bf109s, ie; a 1977 Revell Bf 109G, an Academy "Spanish 109", the Ha1112 Buchon, and my  "Christmas Fighters"...- a set of three Hobbycraft Bf 109s, one each B, C, and D...  I scored them in a trip through my LHS's basement after talking with the owner about some discontinued kits that were getting hard to find even on Ebay, back a few days before Christmas...

He said they'd sat on the shelf since they were released back in 1995 or so, after the guy that ordered them never showed up again, until he purged the aircraft and armor selections (making it a two-aisle military kit store) in favor of trains and RC stuff in '07...   I got 'em for what he'd marked them in 1995, 12.95 each!!

I'd first built those same kits back when they first came out,  but was never happy with the way they looked (I did the B up as a Kondor Legion bird, the C as a transition-type Romanian aircraft, and the D as a Swiss fighter... Nothing wrong with the models themselves, I just hated the way the paint turned out, with the exception of the KL '109, which I painted with rattle-can Testor's MM Camouflage Grey...

Now that I can do them over, they'll be given a more interesting camouflage scheme, although there's not a lot to do with the Kondor Legion....

Here's what I have in mind this time around..

I still plan on doing a KL scheme (#7) on the Bertha, but the Clara will get the one depicted in profile # 3 with the (N)JG 77 markings on the standard Luftwaffe Day-fighter scheme, and the Dora will get the treatment shown with #4 and the 1940 Jagdfliegerschule I at Wernuchen codes. I've slao kicked around adding a three-bladed prop to the Dora, as seen in this propaganda photo

But before any of that, the Monogram Emil (E-4, IIRC) will be done first...  Hopefully, Crossovers will be allowed? I'd like to tie it in with the Monogram Mafia Round II GB...
