Thank Matt, I appreciate that .

I love Hunters too, I went to the Farnborough Air Show in 2000 and the best display was by a Hunter. They still hold the 'most aircraft looped in formation' record - I think it was 22 back in the 50's or early 60's.

I'm gonna call it finished - there a couple of touch ups needed and probably a wash to bring out the panel lines against the white - but here it is alongsode a RAF land-rover form the Bloodhound missile kit !

The RAAF Macchis had a 'Fanta Can' scheme at the Flight Training Schools. - Orange , Silver and White.Fanta being a brand of orange soft drink.

A Test Mirage got painted up in the same scheme

Sorry for lack of ackowledgements as to all the great building here. I realize we all are having trouble keeping up!

With relatives in town I'm being constantly interrupted!Laugh [(-D] I love them, but all we really need is Thanksgiving dinner.....then a short, sweet 'goodbye' when they leave! Then my brother-in-law shows up in the middle of the night to get away from all the hens he's staying with.....and out comes the beer! YAY!Party [party]Make a Toast [#toast].....I sent him home a couple hours ago. Back to work now if I can get out of the brunch the sisters have planned!

I have more troubles than a soap-opera wife since I joined this site!Laugh [(-D]

Try and have some pics for Aaron or Frankie to post for me in a couple hours!

Great work all!

Simon and Jeff, Congradulations guys.  Awessome work.

Off to a late start this morning and I'm half way through my 48 hours but I think I'm in good shape to finish on time.  Going to be out for most of the morning but after lunch it should be clear sailing.

Time for a Public Vote !

I have hit the crossroads of painting the spinners, what few color references I have (Squadron drawn) show semi gloss black.

I think Red  would really set them off and match the markings...

So what will it be

Black

or

Red

I will take your suggestions  until 1 :PM PST

vote

Here are a couple of shots I took this morning showing where I left off last night.  After blowing out the sanding dust in the panel lines I masked off the exhaust and other openings into the engine area using cut up bits of makeup sponges and sprayed the RLM65 on all the undersurfaces and outer gear doors.  I had a minor catastrophy yesterday evening when one of the exhausts broke loose somehow.  I finally got it re-attached the manifold reattached to the cylinder heads, but now I understand some of the pain of those guys who build ships in a bottle.  Shock [:O]

Good morning fellow spastic plasticians!  About 5 am this morning I got the overall filter applied to the upper hull, and the pioneer tools and items placed and picked out...Just finished applying the decals, getting ready to spray a Future coat for my whitewash/winter camo scheme and finally mate the upper and lower hull (that's why you see a huge GAP in the front of the vehicle in the picture...  The decals I used are the kit supplied, markings for StuG Abt 192 Vehicle #24, Eastern Front 1941.  I really like how the red skulls and white markings offset an otherwise drab gray vehicle.  Obviously they will be toned down "some" before it's all said and done.

Matt, the StuG looks great.  Your right the red does set things off in a good way too.

Scott, looking goodThumbs Up [tup]  Great that you got the exhaust reattached.  FYI The ships are already built, you just slid the ship into the bottle and pull on a bunch of strings and the mast and all pop up into place, tie everything off and you got a ship in a bottleCool [8D]  Something I could not do.

Sean,

I have pouring through my Polish AF references in regards to your color choices for the spinners.  No definitive answers, but most of the BW photos I looked at showed the spinners to be an almost exact shade as the rest of the airframe.  Most models I have seen built also feature this.  If I may be so bold, I vote for the same green as the airframe.  If that isn't OK, I say Red.

Ditto on the fine work guys!

Frank I took off the masking and am all set but am utilizing my time to touch up and actually highlight / wash panel lines especially some that got obliterated in the mad seam filling and sanding.  Could snap pics at anytime  just want to make them look as good as I am able. I found with the metal finish just a gentile drag with a hobby knife does wonders for the panel lines.
