Dave, Scott- Outstanding AB work fellas!  Keep it up, you're right on track. Thumbs Up [tup]

Josh- Stunning lil' Wildcat!  My girlfriend really likes that one. Approve [^]

Aaron- What can I say?  You are a MANIAC!!!  Not one build, but two in 48 hours!  And one in NMF.  And the custom decals... I am impressed. Bow [bow]

Robert- Beautiful Mutt you have.  Too bad about the decals, perhaps the troops painted over them in the field. Wink [;)]

Andrew- A 1/48 P-26 with rigging, in 48 hours?  WELL DONE!  She's a looker. Thumbs Up [tup]

Nam- Hang in there, it's not over yet!  It'll be worth it.

Right after I was finished I had to go shopping! Lol, can't get a break.

Frank and Aaron, you guys should do a flyoff with you flying bombs, lol. Awesome work!

Simon and Jimmy, wonderful pair of no props you guys have thier!

Sean, amazing job on what looks to be an OLDer kit, lol.

Andy, very cool looking predator! How long is it?

Jeff, very cool looking 109! I need to do one of those sometime ...

Andrew, VERY cool looking plane! Love the rigging.

GA. (What's yer real name man!?), hopefully you don't have any bird seeking missiles in there, most of us would be screwed, lol. Awesome job on the jeep!

Hopefully I didn't forget anyone. Looking forward to the rest of these as they start showing up!

All I can say is "WOW". It's amazing to me the builds you all put together. After I posted my finished pics, I went outside and burned a bunch of leaves that I had been neglegting and walked my property with my dogs. I needed the break and the fresh air. I'm also trying to crank out my Panther for the Big Cats GB, so I was doing both at the same time.

I for one don't really care if someone goes over the alloted time. I've learned that trying to get something like this done in only two days and have it look decent is no joke. So, if some guys take a little longer, I think they should still claim the Badge.

There are too many awesome builds to name them all so I will just say, "Good job to all of you and thanks for making this a hell of a lot of fun"

Regards,

Jeff

Edit:

I have been remiss. Thank you so much Dave for putting this together!!

Andrew Awesome work for 48 hours.  Your speed amazes everyone on these forums. Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]

Ga.  Looks like your ready for business.

Roy, Nam as Grand Poopaa of this build I here by grant you extra time for your service in the name of Family.  Let's see those finished builds.

I've got the decals on and just letting them dry for a couple of hours before hitting them with some dull coat.  Just have to finish painting the wheel dolly and attach the prop and I'm done.  I was hoping to do the tractor that comes with the kit too but I'm being pulled in other directions tonight, helping the boys finish their builds, our foreign student goes home in a couple of days so got to get that one done too... deadlines Dead [xx(]

Josh -Thanks, that kit was the real vintage - not reissue.  Did you get in on Hobbytowns weekend sale ? They had Buy two kits get one Free and other similar deals. They honered it for me last weekend as I live so far away from Spokane.. I went in for a couple jars of paint and left with some more classics Thumbs Up [tup]

I did make it down there, went on Friday. Actually went to grab some paint too, bought the two paints for my Wildcat, both were Model Master and they didn't give me the buy 2 get 1 free because it doesn't say "Testors" on it, boo.

Tell the lady in in the second pick I want her shoes! I love my shoes, lol. As for Pumas I have acquired 3 pairs so far.

All finished!  As soon as the flat coat dries I'll peel off the Canopy masking and take some pics.  I just realized that I haven't showered or eaten all day!  Shock [:O]

edit:  dinner is almost ready, I'll take my shower afterwards.  By the way, anyone else besides me HATE the two part swasticas that are provided in the Eduard kit?  They're a pain to line up, but even worse I accidentaly got the big side decal with the balkenkreuz and the letters KG + EM stuck to my finger as I was trying to position the swastika and ripped it.  I was able to replace it, but sweet lord!  I'm glad this day is done!  Zzz [zzz]

Josh, it is about 4 1/2" long and 8 1/4" wingspan. Hard to believe this plane with a 48 ft wingspan only has 115 hp! I win the "lowest hp" prize for this GB. It's really a motor glider desiged to cruise around in the teens for hours and hours, sipping gas.The crazy thing I noticed after building it is how does it land? The tail is literally inches off the ground- it can't flare without smacking it.

My first airplane; JU88 (P) tank buster somewhere on the Russian front winter 1944.

   Before...

   After....

Came close to seeing if this thing could fly a few times. This had to be one of the worst fitting kits I've ever built. Even Alan kits aren't this bad. The nose on this bird was a nightmare nothing lined up.

Well I did it, finished a kit in one weekend. Ok I went fifteen minutes over but that's only because the Patriots game was on. Still feeling a little queasy after the beating Pittsburgh gave us. Now I have to go back and check all the other posts I'm sure there's some sweet looking stuff I missed.

Thanks to Frankie Daywalker for posting the above pics of my P-47!!!!!

As some know, I've been tied up with relatives a bit the past few days. Today was a real washout!

Got home and rushed things a bit much. Paint looks way too bright.....hopefully just camera or light.....not that bright in person. Paint on pilot's head was still wet after a touch-up.

I had paint screw-ups on the leading edges......tried to fix.....I see I still haven't.

The fast paint job is........heavy handed in some spots.....way too light in others. I should have just taken a breath.

My goal was to FINISH this bird on time.......I haven't.......but I will in a day or so.

Very great work by all of you that we will be discussing for a couple weeks, at least! I'll get totally caught up soon!

Thanks again Frank!

Steve- Man, that is some beautiful work!  Never would have guessed it was your first plane if you hadn't said anything.  Not only did you scratchbuild the gondola, but a way-too-cool paint job to boot!  I really do hope to see more aircraft from you.  Stunning!

Well, I'm not going to be finished (these kits are to involved for a weekend build it would seem) but Ill show you what I accomplished (not much).  I finished the shield, the torso, and shoulder armor.  I am still working on the arms, the weapon and waist armor.  Still have the head, the waist, and the legs to do.

Yep, it's past my deadlineDisapprove [V]

Dave, I don't know what to say.  I hope to have it done By Monday, I will finish this one.

Steve, that is way coolThumbs Up [tup]  Sean is right, you should build more aircraft.

Frank, since my last post I have been spending time with the family.  My wife will be out of town this week.  So me and the little guy spent some time with mom.

Guys even though I did not finish by my deadline I'm still having fun with this build.  In fact it's the most modeling I have done in a long time.  I look forward to the next one.

Notice to all: I think my next kit for this kind of build will be Dragon's 1/48 V-1 I should have that done in 48 hoursBig Smile [:D]

Well, I'm calling her finished, at 35:13 elapsed time.  Lots of firsts.  First 1/48 armor kit, first kit without rubber band tracks, first attempt at a whitewash, lots of stuff.  Really fun group build, especially for those of us around 3 or 4 this morning posting just to see who was out there.  Anyway, here's the StuG:

Smeagol, I look forward to seeing you finish it up.  This is a genre I am not familiar with so I would like to see more.

Steve.  Awesome work.  I have to admit that I was doubtful that you would finish it when you said it was your firs AC build but you pulled it off with style.

Like everyone else it will take some time to catch up on all the posts so if I missed posting your finished build on page 1 let me know.
