Carlos, 45 degrees, I hope you mean Celsius...Smile  But not only in South Florida it's cold, here in Holland last week it is about 20F... We are not used to that...

Ruttrat, It is my second dio. The first one ended in the Community Archives, also known as the garbage can. So if you just try one, you never know where it ends!

Cheers mates!

OK I finally finished something.  My daughter had my camera for the holiday weekend so I was not able to take any in progress shots but here is the Fujimi 1/72 Ki43-I Oscar  Built OOB

The antenna is 1/2lb fishing line.  Don't ask me where I got it I have no idea.

John, nice job on the Oscar.

Bet it's tiny in 1/72, as mine looks small in 1/48!

Paul, the dock dio is looking good.

Like the idea of the tugs.

Thanks for the comments on the Ki-44.

The pit of the Raiden is painted and Futured ready for decals, so I'll post some pics later in the week.

Duiker: great looking dock and tugs- looking forward to seeing more.

Tempest: that's one fine looking Falcon!

I wanna pull out an Imperial Japanese aircraft and start on it now. Sigh, too many irons in the fire as it is...

Beauty of an Oscar, John! I am always amazed at how some of you can work with such small scaled planes! That's talent!

KJ200

Finally, I've got around to taking pics of the Ki-44.

This is the Hasegawa 1/72 kit, and despite it's age it's not a bad little build......

Surprise

Holy Smokes, Karl! I can't believe I missed this earlier! In all honesty this is the nicest Ki-44 I've seen to date. Bravo, sir! Bow Down That is some serious work you've done, and the diorama makes it all the more special. Wow....

Mucker, thanks for the kind comments.

John, I think the Ki-44 might actually be smaller than the Oscar if that's possible!

Heyyyyyyy !!! have a bit more progresso on the Jake! Was up in the wee hours doing touch ups and painting the prop. Tried an experiment of sorts ala Alclad. I used Tamiya acrylics on the prop. First a smooth gloss black(X-1) then the chrome silver(X-11). Spinner just used the chrome silver on bare plastic. To me, there is the very slightest contrast between a steel prop and a formed aluminum spinner. It's not changing because I'm happy with it but would like some feed back please. Back side of prop is standard XF-1 flat black. Also post shaded the bottom and will tone it down with an overspray of base color, but just wanted to show some more progress. Realized a few days ago how close I am to finishing. 6 more parts and the decals! Not necessarily in that order.Whistling So here's some pics.

My fave Christmas present next to the plastic, and the next step.....

You can't get this stuff here!!!!!! I literally opened the box from my friend and held the bottles and said, "My Precious!" Toastlol

Well for one, you can't get the real thing here in Australia. I have enough supply now to last a lonnnnng time. I will use it as my gloss coat for the decals. I would use Tamiya Clear as per a dvd i bought recently, but the cost of one jar would buy nearly half of one bottle of future! It will be much better than the stuff I used last time!

Simpilot: Very clear... Thanks! I'm using Valma carwax for the same thing. Works fine on car models, better as Tamiya clear Cool

DirkPitt: I hope your ships are not too deep in the stash. Mottballs are not the best things for them..Wink

Richie: Thumbs up on the propeler. I, too, like to get a subtle contrast. It really livens up a model.

Paul: Nice work on the sub dio. I amagine you wax is similar to Pledge/Future. I can't live without the stuff!!

Other than the obvious decal base and sealer, I use it a lot on clear parts. Makes them all the more realistic looking.

I'm finally getting to the Mach 2 PBM-3, got it out of the deep stash today.  Luckily I have a vacform to source the clear parts from as they are typical Mach 2, only suitable for masters for making useable ones with some rework.

The moldings are not too bad, much better than some of the other Mach 2 kits I have.  The instructions are shall we say brief.

Last week I did a primer coat of flat white on the lower surfaces of my F6F. Today I applied a top coat of Satin White. Now it looks white.

Ok, now back to business, Mike I have added your Zero to the roster and congrats to Mucker, Karl & John for their excellent work.  The standard of builds in this GB is really outstanding, so great job all.

Fine work there. stik! Yes Looking forward to seeing some colors on her.

Welcome back Darren! Now, I was going to post some pics of my zeke in progress, but after seeing your 'models', I best wait until I have a little more to show besides a basecoat of IJN green on the interior pieces. Wink

Yes Darren I know what you mean about the things we have to do sometimes. The top pic looks like it's around Ocean Grove. Am I right? Well this is what I have been doing. Got a few keepers and a few throwbacks.

Threwback this 11 armed starfish, this is one of several I have caught lol

Threw back this lil toadfish, puffer, nuisances they are. You can't eat them but they like ur bait.

Threwback this fiddler ray, found out this is a rare catch on a line.

and two keepers, a nice Whiting, had it for lunch MMMMMMM MMMMMM

and a Silver Trevally of decent size, unfortunately, as you can see by the hook, as I was putting my phone away it took a big shake and SPLASH!Boo Hoo

Since these pics have managed to get 2 more trevally and another whiting that are in the freezer now.Eats

Nice one Richie Yes those whiting are a really nice eating fish and that is too bad about the Trevally, he looks to have been a beauty.

Both of the photos were taken on the Anglesea surf beach which is where we stayed so you weren't too far off the mark.

Well I have futured the beast! I sprayed the future with a drop of dishwashing detergent and then let time take it's course. I say that because i was a bit apprehensive bout using it. I probably put it on a bit too heavy, and had some peculiar clouds in the pools develop, which i thought was my VERY light overspray of gray being lifted off by the new wet stuff. The pools that were created on the trailing edge of the wing are gone this morning along with the fog and I have a very smooth shiny finish. First time using Future actually, and it has lived up to its reputation.  Here is a few pics and next step will be the decals. Finally it will have a personality.
