Hey Frank,

I was going to do a 109 to accompany my 190, but I guess a 262 is just as good.  For now, consider me tentative.  I'll need to see where I am in my Sherman build come the end of October.  Thankfully, I'm on vacation that week, so anything left on the Sherman could be finished up by then.

Who makes the best 262, anyway?

Fred- I added you to page 1 as a possible entry.

As for the best 262, Tamiya's 1/48 kit is very good.  Only gripe about it is the lack of poseable wing flaps and L/E slats, which were usually animated on parked A/C.  There are a few resin sets available out there to add these.

In 1/72 it's a close call between Revell & Academy.

In 1/48 it has to be the Tamiya kit for my money.

 Hey Frank, tryin to get a few of the other GB's finished up. Count me in for a 262, haven't picked the kit out yet, but I'm favoring the Tamiya kit. Built the FW190A8 in JG5 markings for the Battle of Norway GB. I like their offerings, they build up into a nice display, even for someone just getting into the all metal planes of WW2 such as myself. Start date is just around the corner too. Wohoo!

Bill- I am very happy you signed on!  I really am looking forward to seeing an S-92 here.  I am going to search for decals in 1/48 for one myself.

Right!  I found a CMK resin conversion set for the Tamiya kit with parts and decals to build a B-1a night fighter, and also a CS-92.  Just ordered myself one.

Well I can't resist this.  Been looking for an excuse to build the Tamiya Me 262 A2-a (1/48) with the Kettenkrauftruad (I'm sure I butchered that spelling).  My wife gave that kit to me for my birthday many years ago, so she'll be thrilled that I'm finally building it (that is, if she even remembers giving it to me).

Frank, please add me to the list, although I probably won't get started until the Christmas holidays.

Guy- What took you so long?  Geez... LOL  I like your red "12", the conversion kit I bought yesterday has those decals inside.  YAY!   And, that cannon armed monster to boot?  Must be my lucky day.

SPeaking of previous builds, does anyone else have photos of theirs they would like to share?  SInce we have a few weeks until kickoff, I think everyone ought to show their previous work on the Schwalbe.

This is Tamiya's ME-262A-2a converted to a -1a which I built many moons ago.  Right after their -2a came out!
