What ever it is it is too late now. Your in and thats it. No one said it was going to be easy. Just keep this in mind. The GB has not even started yet which means this is just the tip of the iceberg! The best is yet to come!

It's some sort of entrapment. They lure you in with promises of beautiful warbirds and great kinship... and they will deliver on those promises but it all goes wrong when you sign up. All hell breaks loose and you start seeing cross-eyed, bearded Brits and men in womens clothing and... oh how horrible it is!

This happened to me once before, over at the RA group build. It happened just like that and now I cry myself to sleep every single night.

Hello Gentleman,

I am seeing alot of great modelers in this group build and am wondering if I can Join with an ODDBALL 262.

In 1944, the Japanese military had a 262 shipped to them via submarine and was well into the developement stage of a flying  copy of their aircraft by Dec. 1945. The aicraft was to be called  The Nakajima Ki-201 Karyu ( Fire Dragon). The Japanese version of this aircraft never saw combat.

I leave the choice up to you gentleman.

Mmmmm, thats going to be tricky. I know it looks like a 262 but it will be (Or would have been) defending the Japs, which isnt exactly the Reich, as in the title. I personally would let it in on the grounds that it was probably Defending the Reich at some point in its lifespan.....and its a 262 and not the anorexic 'Kikka'

I would let it in. Surely its no different to the Cezch version used after the war.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Jason- Why not?  I think one of these would certainly be interesting to see.  I added your name to the list, what scale/kit are you planning on using?

Got a few hours at the workbench yesterday.  I had hoped to use the Eduard pre-painted PE set for the Hasegawa 262 for interior but it just didn't fit so I did it the old fashioned way.  As usual it looks better in real life, the macro seems to catch every little imperfection that the old Mk. I eyeball wouldn't pick up in this scale.

Next up is grafting the CMK resin nose with the detailed gun bay to fuselage.

Hi Frank,

I'd like to get in on this GB with a Tamiya A-2a w/ Cutting Edge replacement flying surfaces. I started this kit 5 or 6 years agao, but only got as far as removing the molded on slats and flaps from one half of the wing. I'm not sure why I put this kit away, but this GB will get me motivated to re-start it.Smile [:)]

I have two other GB's in front of this one, but I should be able to get to this one in about a month, maybe less.

Well, sheez, I'm embarrased now! Dunce [D)]

Of course the rules do allow partially completed builds, so technically.... Whistling [:-^]

I really didn't even read the rules post, saw the 10/09-3/10 in the title and just assumed it started on October 1st.  I'll suspend work on this one and penalize myself three days, or Frank could just start it tomorrow! Cool [8D]

Shock [:O] Hmmm I had planned for this contingency!   This is unfortunate but now I am going to have to freeze time in order to catch up!  So let it be written so let it be done! Dinner [dinner]

On the lighter side did everybody else here know the bad guy on the Highlander is the voice of Mr Crab on Sponge Bob? I was amazed but then I am easily astonished!

Frank, I will be building the 1/48 Tamiya 262 A-1a.

To be Honest about the start date....just looking at the title I assumed this build started on the first also. Glad to see THIS GROUP BUILD IS A GO!!

Woohoo!!!  Now all I need to do is find some room on my bench.  That Snowberry takes up a lot of space.

EDIT:  I think I may give my Hasegawa B-1a/U1 a go first and then do the Academy later.

Do you really think I could build an entire kit (even a Tamiya one) in less than 6 months?  I thought you knew me better than that! Laugh [(-D]
