Guy- You rascal, WHAT A SCORE!!!  I expect we'll be seeing at least one of those here soon, right?  RIGHT???

As for 190 parts, I had one of my helpers take a closer look to see what all I had.  I expect her to report back soon...

Clebode- LOL, not quite ready for stickers yet, but hopefully soon!  The spinner, at least.

Bummer about the plastic tub wrecking your paintjob, it looks very, very good to me!Love the colors, what paints are you using?  I have never seen the red spinner I don't think, looking forward to those pics!

Thanks, Steve! I got a bit more done today, I puttied and sanded the seams on the four bombs, the droptank, the leading edge and the two small gaps that appeared where the cowling did not match the wingroot. The molded-in gun barrels really got in the way of sanding, and another round of filling will be necessary in that area, and possibly a tiny lick where the trailing edge of the wing did not quite match up.

I got my order in for the canopy masks today, and they'll come from the States via a friend, so I'd guess a few weeks will go by before the painting stage. In the meantime I've dabbled with pre-painting a few details on the Academy 1:72 A-8, which might also end up as a parallel build, especially if I choose the same camo scheme -- I can paint them together. We'll see how building pressure goes over the next couple of weeks.

Cheers, M/TB379

Frank--The paint is Life Color acryl.  The colors are RLM 76/82/83.  I ordered the paint from PCM at the same time I ordered the Ta152.  The RLM76 is very soft.  The two geens are a bit more rugged and haven't chipped like the photo showed on the bottom.

Steve-- Thanks for the props on the camo.  I am not done with that yet.  I am goimg to hit some spots lightly with the RLM76 again to soften some harsh spots.

Jeremy--I was thinking the same thing about letting the damage replicate wear but think the damage is in the wrong location to be that.  I am going to future the top as soon as I finish the red/yellow ID band.

This morning was four hours finishing the cowl flaps.  As is par for this build, a careless finger movement broke a flap in the middle.  Of course it is a flap right next to the radiator in plain view.  Embarrassed  Two hours to get it to look half way decent.  Here a a shot of the good side cowl flaps and for our fearless leader a shot of the prop and the red spinner.  Thanks to Guy for the tip on the Eduard spinner masks.  Something finally went right the first time.

Thanks for the comments on the spinner.    Ther is actually historical support for the red color for "Green 9".  The fuselage bamds are on.  More pics tonight.

Just a little bit  of work on the Ta152H tonight.  Test mounted the prop.  Yes  Painted the exhausts.  Dark gray + jet exhaust + dark earth weathering powder.  I am glad to be back using Tamiya acryl thinned with laquer thinner.  It now looks like a plane!!    Photos below:

Well, figured I should post some WIP pics to show I am still working on mine!

Glued the cowl on last night, and finished smoothing out the seams tonight.  Typical Tamiya FW-190 kit, poor fit around the cowl to gun hood/ fuselage sides.  Otherwise, perfect!  Had to use some shims to get everything lined up.  Still a bit off, but those late Luftwaffe machines typically had poor fitting panels.

You managed to convince those panels to line up a bit better than I did, Frank, I resorted to filler for a few bits. I see you also snipped the gun barrels and pitot probe, that would sure make things easier on the lineup and handling. So far I've managed to avoid snapping mine off, but it's an iffy thing at times.

Cheers Mike/TB379

Ok you guys had me thinking about it, and now Clebode has gone and done it with that red spinner, he has pushed me over the edge. Its his fault !!!! Angry I have  to order some of those spinner masks for my build and now I cant find my squadron catalog Bang Head.

Oh sorry guys Embarrassed it is under the keyboard.

Clebode I really like it my complements to you sir.

Daywalker the Tamiya kit has fit issues ??? Tongue Tied aww man,,,,,, and I thought the only hard part was gonna be the paint job. Your build is lookin good so far.

Vetteman---I didn't know red spinners were so powerful.  Hope your masks come soon.  I ordered direct from Eduard.  Pricey shipping but they came in 5 days.  Thank you for the kind words.

Julez, thanks for the props.  I will be watching for your build pics here and at BoB 70th.

Frank, nice, steady, precise work on the Tamiya.  For some reason I thought you had paint on and were almost ready for "stickers".  Confused

Gr8 work everyone! I'v decided what model I'll build, the Hasegawa 1/72 A-8 kit Stick out tongue

The kit itself looks OK but I'm really dissapointed by the supplied markings (norwegian). Decals are fine but I'm totally uninterested by Luftwaffe birds used in Norway in general and it doesn't suit this GB what so ever. Don't be alarmed, I'll figure something out.

That was the good part, bad is that I won't begin building the kit in the nearest future. Work and a already started kit are prioritized.

I'll still be lurking around keeping an eye on what's going on though.

Steve--The engine is very special!  Great work.  Ditto on the camo paint.

Guy---The base kit is the Pacific Coast Models Ta152H-1 in 1:32.  I also incorporated Jerry Rutman's rsin upgrade for the wheel well, cowl, props and spinner.  I used Rutman's Jumo engine 9PCM supplied an inaccurate MB engine), 30mm canon and framing too.  To produce the wheel well detains Rutman supplies a spar and upper, inner wing halves.

Coach Crusher, I saw earlier that you buit "Green 9".  Is that the Dragon 1:48?

Yes it is. The molds are actually the old Trimaster kit. They have been redone by Dragon twice now without the sprue that consists of all of the engine parts. Hasegawa did a short run of them that did include the engine sprues but the best release if you can find it is the original Trimaster boxing. It includes the engine sprues, a bag of white  metal details, photo etch detail and a huge decal sheet with tons of options. I have one of the original Trimaster kits stashed away and one of the Dragon reboxing. The kit is great and only had one minor flaw. All of the kits produces have warped wingtips because they are so thin. It's an easy fix. Just superglue a piece of thin tubing in the wingtip to straighten it out. The rest of the kit fits great. You should be able to find the Dragon kit around. They just made another run of them recently so there should be plenty around.
