Sparrowhyperion:
I've been trying to get my hands on a 1/32 Phantom for years. I always get sniped by someone with more cash to spend on eBay. lol I just don't want to get stuck with the RF4E 1/32 R/M I hate the nose shape on the recon birds. And those are the only ones that stay in my range.

Yeah, Oh Yeah!?!
I was just going through an old Monogram stash and found a load-out for a 1/48 Monogram Navy F-4B, and it has this 'super squirt-gun' looking package attached to a pylon. Hmmm....and that early ECM pod Berny showed us, where'd that come from?
Uhhhh......sstillll......need......1/48......Monogram.......F-4.......
Oh well, those 3 Revell 1/32 are about all I can deal with these days, but who knows, Dayton had tons of stuff I thought was oughta' print!
So, soon I'm going to develop the coconuts to cut the plastic for those intakes........maybe soon......
I hear you on that, I would have built my current scratch monster with its recon nose and Immelmann graphics, but the decals were oxidized, and the kit very warped.....should'a moved on...lol....
I tried on Ebay, but when you consider that it is so difficult to get a kit up here form th US with anyhing less than a 40-90% premium on cash with shipping, and 300% premium on shipping time, it makes sense to buy locally if available.
That means I suffered about 80 bucks for the 1/32 kits locally, and they are no longer available.
I scored the Tamiya about 3 years ago for $40, I use it as a reference to build my scratch monster.
Here's the thing, I've either paid way below market for kits from collections, or way above market for stuff I couldn't find anywhere else when the bug hit at the time.
I think it has evened out....but...I'm a master at fooling myself these days.......
