That's usually why I try and stay within the US, though I have won a couple out of the UK.  I avoid things coming from China, unless its the only one available and I really need it now.

I havn't had any trouble with stuff from China,, you just got to watch..and be carefull...

Yeh.  There is that...  It's pretty sad when the postage is more than the kit.  Even some kits on eBay are like that in the US.

I have a friend living in Croatia who buys a lot of stuff on eBay ... he has the Seller send it to me, and I, in turn, send it to him ...

Just yesterday I sent him a package that weighed a bit over 3 pounds ... the cost was $7.22 ... the eBay Seller had told him the cost to Croatia would be $44.00 ...

It's a no-brainer ...

I have my choice narrowed down to the Revell 1/48 B-24D,  B-29 or the Kinetic 1/48 E-2C Hawkeye.  The wheels are still turning.  What a tough decision for this GB.  I am leaning toward the B-29.  It would be nice to have something to sit next to the B-1 I just finished.

Tough decision indeed!  Keep it simple and do all of 'em, this here GB runs for a year!  I know I'll end up doing a couple.

I would like to build a couple for the GB.  I guess put me down for Kinetic's 1/48th scale E-2C Hawkeye to start with.  Should I have enough time I will go with the B-29.

Was just going over the rules and i have an odd question. What about helicopters?

For example the Kamov KA-50. 2 Engines driving 2 props(rotors are still props, just pointed at a different angle)

Im not entering it im just curious. 

I'd have to say no to helicopters, cause the rotor blades on a helicopter are constantly changing their orientation based on where it is in relation to the helicopter body, plus it doubles has the "wing" keeping the helicopter in the air, unlike propellers which just push or pull the plane forward.  That would also include the V-22 and other similar aircraft, cause they can stay in the air with out forward momentum.

Thank you for letting me join your GB.  I heard the same on the Kinetic kit.  I hope I can make it look good.  The only question would be to build it with the wings folded or extended?  I will probably go after some aftermarket decals.  There are some sharp looking selections out there.  The kit decals I heard are nice but rather boring.

Please put me down for this build. A couple of months ago my sister bought a 1/48 Revel B 17 G at a garage sale for $7.00 US. When I opened the box I found the TD sets for the bombadier, cockpit, radio room, waist, and two Verlinden Wright Cyclone engines. Might as well give it a try.

Picked up a Revellogram B-25J Gun Nose over the weekend. Doesn't change my build any - still going to be a PBJ-1J - just now I can go after building this particular one:

Take a look at the 1/48 Monogram F9F-5P Recce version of the Panter ... looks like the tip tanks might just be the ticket for your B-25 ... they have the same shape and might be a fit for your build ...

Thanks man. Lone Star Models actually makes a resin PBJ wing pod for $6 or so, so if I have to spend money, I may as well do that rather than just cannibalize a brand new kit. Been procrastinating because the order process is such a huge pain. No online payment of any kind. CC orders have to be faxed in (hard when you have no landline and no fax machine). 

I was really hoping LSM would be at ModelFiesta this weekend, but alas, no dice.

I'd like to get into this with a Hasegawa 1/72 Lancaster.  Its been sitting in my stash for a few years trying to intimidate me with all its glass and engines, but this will be a good excuse to finally get cracking on it.

Okay so my girlfriend won't talk to me... I just ordered both the Italeri B25 and the Revell B25. Change my build from the B-17 to a side-by-side of the Mitchells... thanks I think.

I found this Dornier detail set from Aires and guess what, I have to have it!!

So my relatively straightforward built is about to get very complicated but the results should be potentially drool worthy. It's twice what I paid for the kit but what else am I going to spend the money on. More kits!

Cool ... I can finish the San Francisco cable car my daughter and I built... she's painted it in the tri-color camo colors used by Panzers in WW II ... calls it her 'Kamo Kabel Kubelwagen' (groan) - nice to have her interested in modeling though ...

Also, have a Sabre Jet, F-7F-3 and an F-8F-1 to finish as well, so the Electra will get started right when the GB kicks off ...

I'll be finishing it in my ex-employers color scheme - the 'Catch our Smile' colors of PSA, San Diego, CA ...
