Hey Trouble, I ordered the Dornier set. The kit only cost me US$23 but the detail set was about US$65 but it's going to be a lot of fun Stick out tongue

Cheers

I got both B 25 kits yesterday... should be able to start by the middle of next month. Since the construction steps are pretty much the same it should be easy to decide which kit is engineered the best. I've decided that the Italeri kit will be built oob and I'll do what needs to be done to bring the Revell kit up to the same level of detail. should be fun.

 B17Pilot:

TREYZX10R - updated the list.  Been trying to find one of those kits on ebay, but they get pricey fast.  Looking forward to seeing it.

B17Pilot Thanks ,you're right was lurking on e-bay forever trying to snag a deal on one of these and finally lucked out.

Finally snaged one of those SM 79 kits off ebay for under $60 today, and it included Eduard mask and detail sets! Big Smile  Still hoping the Ventura is relased by the time this GB officially kicks off.  I do have an A-20 itching to be built though.

Yep, the Monogram monster!  It may take me all of eternity to complete and require I add on to my house to fit it in.  But I did get a good deal on it. Big Smile

Reasoned - Your B-36 is on the list.  Of course you could put on a pole and stick in your yard bombing any yard gnomes trying to invade

Get a few of them and you could make yourself some chimes. Nothing like the nice, relaxing sound of styrene clacking together.

Or mount it in the middle of your yard surrounded by hueys and blast that music they played in the movie when the hueys were flying over Vietnam. Then sit on your porch and glare at people walking past...

I have one of those sitting here on my shelf.   Also a B-52 (1/72), 2 B-29s (1/48), 2 B-58s (1/48), 2 B17Gs (1/48), 1 B-47 (1/72), 1 B17F (1/48), 2 B-25s (1/48), 1 B24 (1/48), 1 B26 (1/48), and 2 C47D Space Cruisers.  These are my biggest kits and will be sitting on the shelf until I have room to do them when we find our new house.  A garage or full basement is a primary requirement.. lol.

Oh, almost forgot the large scale LIS Jupiter II. and the 1/72 XB-70 Valkyrie...

(I need more shelves...)

Hey Guys:

Better yet ... get a B-36 .wav file, and have your computer play it in a continuous loop ... it'll drive everyone crazy including the neighborhood dogs ...

Growing up in San Diego, I saw and heard lots of B-36's go over and they have that ' sound' about them ... once you hear one, you'll never forget it ... once in a blue moon, I play my .wav file and it takes me back to days long ago ...

Sounds more like a conversion than an upgrade.  Can't wait to see!

Hey B17 Pilot If I could I'd like to join this little venture with a He 111z "Zwilling" in either 1/72 or 1/48. I need to see if the conversion is still available for the 1/48. and I too would like to submit The B-17 in 1/72 scale of the one pictured in your banner. I think both of these craft fit the bill. I have long thought of doing the B-17 with the Fifth prop now I have a reason. And the He 111 is my Fav. German bomber and the Z has WAY to many props. Probably will not get to them for a bit but can't wait to start. Hope they fit the bill and Happie Modeling!!!

Yes they do fit the bill!  Can't wait to see that B-17 engine test bed!  IIRC, I saw a He111z conversion set on ebay a couple weeks ago in 1/48, don't know it'n its still there, but can't hurt to look.

Welcome to the build!

Sigh. I was looking forward to this one, but I'm going to have to bail on the PBJ. Don't have the display space for it, and as I mentioned over in Wild Wings, we're moving early next year, so no real point in figuring out some new shelving solution for the next 9-10 months...

I may jump back in with something else that would fit within my shelves (may move up my desire to build a Mossie Night Intruder in the midst of an engine replacement)...have to see how the current builds go!

Will be following along eagerly, however...this one looks like a blast!

Sad (about the PBJ), but happy (finding a new house with lots of shelves) news, Doogs.  I'll put you down as TBD for now.  If'n you decide to build the Mossie, let me know, was looking forward to the PBJ.

Of course you could still build the PBJ and do what Fermis does and hang it buy its tail on the wall Wink.  Then again there's other possiblities, i.e. a smaller scale B-25, or a P-38, F-82, 1/144 DC-3....

Course I'm kinda running out of space myself, but over the weekend I rearranged some models and got some extra room by putting one wing in the space between the wing and tail of another model.  That freed up some room for two more!

Mike sorry to hear about the warped wings at least at that scale it should be easier to fix than say 1/48. I've still not gotten my Sparviero in the post yet starting to get anxious!

Well if you do a big A380, 144 scale is not so bad Wink.

Bummer about the warped wings.
