funny you mention japanese intructions cause i also have them..... weird huh Taimyas cataloge says this kit is "limited production" funny I got it and it still looks like a 30year old standard taimya kit. You would think they would at least update the instuctions.Sign - With Stupid [#wstupid]

Sure it does thundergod!!!

I actually have the same multi-decade-aged kit.... worse though mine only came with japanese instructions, so... as you can imagine... its only half completed and on the shelf with some dust Dead [xx(]

Build Progress.... I glued some parts on the 45mm AT gun and it kinda looks like a AT gun Tongue [:P] ..... and I glued some parts on the 76mm gun but it just looks like pieces of irish spring Clown [:o)]

I may have bit off more than I can chew with the supply horses.... wow there is a ton of scratbuilt rigging that needs to be done to hookup harnesses, footstraps, and all the other horsie stuff that hooks on to a beast of burden....I hope I can pull it off...
I haven't done any work with figures yet.... yet Evil [}:)]

I am pretty sure it does Thundergod, a few of the other guys were at least thinking of doing the same.

Welcome aboard.

Peter,
I would be interested to know how you get on with the tracks for the Sdkfz 7, as I have just bought the Sdkfz 7/1 (I kit I have wanted since I was a kid) and will pick up the vanilla 7 soon for an 88mm desert diorama I am working on, so I was curious as to wether or not they are worth the money.

Kinda wishing I hadn't found that site for the SiG33 as I was just going to build it OOB but I am already stretching sprue and cutting little rivets!Dead [xx(]

I reckon the Krupp would make a nice build anyway.

Nice site Phroosh. I emailed it to a friend who just bought the Sig 33 kit off evil bay.au. He appreciated the heads up!

DJ. Kind of a play around on the Red Tsunami/wave theme. Red Storm Rising is one of my favourite novels, so it kinda jumped out at me.

Finishing the achilles for the Sherman build, but will start this one next week. Got my club meeting this Saturday, and I am hoping one of the traders will have fruil to fit the SdKfz 7, if not Krupp Protze and 3.7mm AT it will be.

Glad to see the rest of you guys are happy at being allowed to get up to your elbows in glue on the gunsBig Smile [:D]

Thanks for that, Matt. It'll be useful to me when I build one up! Which will be after I finish my Mack and Howitzer combo ....

D'oh, I knew I'd start on this late, and well... I'll have to start late. I haven't finished my M1 yet, but I'm hoping that probably sometime after Easter weekend I'll start for this build.
GL to everyone

I cracked open the wrap on my Alan SIG 33 today. Looks nice. Probably won't do to much as far as extras go but I found a good walkaround site, so I might do a little bit of detailing. Anyone else doing one of these, I know there was a few thinking about it. I can't seem to find too much info on it's use or vehicles that towed it, although the Sdkfz 11 is a popular suggestion. Sounds like more fun than 6 horses!

Still very much undecided about theatre/paint scheme, it may depend on the vehicle I choose. It is likely to be one of AFV clubs 11's, early or late.

Argh, too many builds. I haven't started my M1 yet, still don't have my model for this build. Guess I'll be joining up later. Good luck to all.

No joke! April 1 it is for those who are sticking to the deadline. It's tomorrow, guys, so start your engines!

I think this thread has been a good example of the benefit of starting group build threads early -- there's been lots of fun discussion and sharing of information of kits before the start-up. Thanks guys.

I am thinking that it might be nice to actually finish a group build on time, so I might shelf the GB's I failed to complete by the deadline and get this one done. I'm building a big all-resin prime mover, and I build slowly, so this may be necessary -- particularly because I want to have it done by D-Day rather than by the end of the GB, which is in July.

I would hate like heck though to have lots of partly completed builds on the shelf .... I may just bite the bullet and get at least one (the Panther) done before starting on the Mack truck and the 8" howitzer.

Attack of the Truncated T34s... I like it, Dwight! I like it! I have to admit I haven't had the great 'Eureka' when it comes to the title for this scene. I thought first of 'Surprise!' but it's a bit lame... Had the German crew been Japanese, and the scene happening in the Far East, 'Red Tsunami' would have been pretty cool, I think. 'Red Wave' hasn't got the same 'kick'... Any ideas/suggestions are welcome!

As to a scene featuring the rear of the tank, now that I think of it, I should have kept the parts to put them in a little scene representing a half-sunken T34... But it's a bit late for that now, since I threw away the other half of the hull...

Something I thought though, to expend on this half-model idea, was to build a diorama that would, so to speak, be seen from behind the half tank, with all the inside and the crew in the tank.. In this case, with this diorame, I simply filled the half tank with expanding foam, and it really has to be seen from the front of the side.

Hey DJ! Cool dio. What's the title you have for it?

The attack of the truncated T-34? Ohh...scary! LOL.

Just kidding my friend. Great work as always.
