Red Baron the rain shouldnt give you trouble with the rain, will take a while to dry though. Can't say about the Humbrol as I have never used it.

Thanks for the offer but your helper eats parts... mine just leaves hair on fresh paint...

Initial construction is finished. It is now 7:02am, saturday morning, 13 hours in. So that leaves me with a day and a half to paint and weather; riiiiight on schedule

The Ehkranami (applique armor) really pops at you on these kv's.

Painted at 25 hours 18min

I painted this free hand with my airbrush, the results weren't as good as i hoped…

When paint dries, I can do landing gear and touch up paint and stuff like that, if I can get all that done today I might be able to apply decals tomorrow!

I do like tanks a little bit, I just like them for thier looks & off road ability.

Im not as happy with the paint job as I wanted to be, but oh well.

I got the paint, landing gear, and some weathering done today. 

Tomorrow - decals, weathering, flat coat.

I also got the prop ready, but that will have to wait until I put the shark mouth on, I want going to do the shark face, but since I have a few errors on the cowling, I'll use that to cover them up. And it looks mean!

Keep the pictures coming guys.  Even though you may have missed the deadline we want to see the finished product as soon as possible! 

update on my Ventura,, decals on,,, weathering mostly done.. flat coat soon...

The P-40 is finished!!

Just gonna wait until the clear coat dries, then I'll give you pics!

and the PV-1 is decaled.. waiting for them to dry to dull coat.. and add th glass...[:5

a tad... i wasted time on the cockpit.. and the nacelles had atrocious fit issues...

Well here is the P-40N finished.

Finished at 44 hours 30min.

I am now 40 hours, 30 mins in.... KV is decalled, received a drybrush and some washes. Tracks have just been glued together.

All that is left is to retouch the washes, add some chalks... maybe a last drybrush inbetween and i am done

Friday night obligatory sprue shot.

Had a six hour session Saturday which got the airframes mostly put together.

Well.. the Ventura is finally done..

had fit issues with the engine nacelles, and when the nose dried.. it dried off center..

I wasted time on the cockpit.. but,, it was fun.. and its differant.. Thanks for looking:

Centhot - Luv the Wildcat!  Excellent job on the paint and decals, even with the problems you had!

p38jl - Beautiful work on the Ventura!  Nose looks fine to me as does everything else! 

razor - how long is the GB going on?  If there's time I'd like to give it another go.  I learned my lesson with the Patton tank and think I can nail one in 48 hrs.  Won't be able to start it until this Friday evening though....

Even though I didn't build this in time I finally finished the M48A2 Patton today.  I was out of town from Wed til today, but started putting the finishing touches on it as soon as I got home.  Rob Gronovious in the Armor forum gave a tip for the tacky tracks:  I used weathering pigments on them and the tacky paint practically absorbed the pigment and, VOILA!  Tackiness gone.  Painted the connectors and teeth in a rusty tone and made an antenna from stretched sprue.  I totally forgot about the fuel cans on the turret, but I'll get them on later.....much later!!

Wow P38, great build!  Great builld too Bufflehead, love the Patton.  Nice P-40 RRB, really good.  Everyone has done such cool stuff, makes my Wildcat look out of place - but there's always next time...
