Yeah at least little-G looks like his dad, Minya doesn't look like Godzilla at all. I wonder if Big-G adapted him.

Yeh he was sure cuter than that atrocious Minya from the 70s...  My Daughter is the biggest Godzilla fan on the planet.  He's about the only action figure from the movies that she doesn't have... lol

Actually its not Gamera, its Toto.

Gamera: The Brave returns Gamera to his Shōwa era roots, but with a modern twist. In the film, Gamera is first seen defending Japan back in the '70s from the Gyaos, but sacrifices himself to destroy them by self-destructing. In the modern day, the child of a man who witnessed that battle finds a turtle egg that hatchs into a baby Gamera that he names Toto. When a lizard-like monster named Zedus appears, Toto tries to fight the beast, but ends up being gravely wounded and taken by the military for study. He ends up escaping and growing to a larger size to try and fight Zedus again, this time succeeding against the monster.

Well,,,,didn't know the

Big Guy could lay eggs.......but heck, it's monster movies!

I hope dad left Toto instructions on how to operate the genetic

rocket motors just beside Toto's butt.....lol....."do you smell something?".......

Wouldn't want to be in a Monster Bar and accidentally ignite one of those!

Yeah, that's gotta hurt.....Oops

Mike, is that clip from the last movie? Haven't seen it, funny looks like a real box turtle instead of the two suits used in the old and '00s films.

Mike: Thanks! I couldn't watch much of the video link though, hate seeing planes crash. Crying

Buzzken: Nice job there, I hate sanding parts off like that. I'll have to try the tread next time I'm stuck in such a situation.

Ken - it's quite simple.  For example, on the curved canopy pieces, I cinched them down and took a piece of  cotton/poly thread and sawed by pulling the thread up and down closely along the edge of the piece.  You need to not be too aggressive with it, but still I frequently broke the thread.  Just grab another strand and continue (thread's cheap, especially when you swipe it from the wife's stash).  Then, finish the job with careful sanding.

Here is a nice reference by Hawkeye:      http://hawkeyes-squawkbox.com/2008/07/19/how-to-cutting-curves/

Hi Buzz (the other Ken),

Could you explain the "sawing with thread"?  Since I will be facing the same challenges as you when the time comes to build my TF-102, I would like to document all of the steps you are using.  (I hope you don't mind?)  By the way, great job on removing those pieces from the resin molded cast!  Yes

Way too many monsters in here!!  Indifferent

I'm finally getting started on the TF-102 after getting my P-51 completed for the Vet's GB.  This conversion set is really pretty crude and is going to be a "monster" challenge. (darn, there's another monster reference!)  The method in which some of these parts are delivered makes for a lot of work just to get them off the substrates.  I used a few different actions to remove them.  Razor saw, lots of sanding, and (thanks to Hawkeye) sawing with thread.  I had used thread to saw plastic before, but he suggested it also for the resin, and, by gosh, it worked.  Anyway, here's some of my progress.

Started with this:

DSC01767.jpg

In progress sanding with a gripper attached after rough sawing the difficult angles with thread:

DSC01770.jpg

And some of the results:

DSC01771.jpg

This took a lot of time but anyway the fiasco is underway!!Stick out tongue

Hi Everyone,

Not too much progress tonight since I had to do homework that was due tomorrow.  But here it is.  This view is more like it will be when it is installed:

Of course I have some touch up with the paint brush, but it is getting very close.  I will be glad when the cockpit is finished so I can start on the actual aircraft!

BC: Sounds like you've got a full plate of troubles there my friend- hope things get better soon.

BTW: Great job on the turkey feathers.

Ken: And fantastic job on the seat belts, every time I try to work on something that small I end up knocking off parts faster than I can glue them on.

Hi Cliff,

Thank you for the compliment.  I am using a very large, lighted magnifying glass along with a full assortment of Xuron stainless steel tweezers and a lot of patience!

 Son Of Medicine Man:

Hi Everyone,

I added the last upper belt to the second ejection seat.  I went a little further on this one and added the small retaining belt.  It was a pain but it adds a little more detail.  I will have to touch up with some paint when it dries.  This seat overall has turned out better than the other, so if there is one that is more prominent than the other that is where this one will go.
