I'm not sure how the set you are using requires the cuts to be made, but I usually either use my Zona Razer Saw, or I use a low speed setting and a fine grinding bit on my Dremel.  Sometimes a combo of both.I found that doing it with the keyhole saw and drill holes makes an uneven cut for me.  Then again,most of my cuts are uneven these days.

Here is tonight's work, slow but steady.  The instructions are not very clear on where to cut so I am cutting on the lean side which is going to take longer.  First I drilled holes to use to help guide my micro saw:

Next I started sawing.  This is all the farther I got.  After I get this side done and know how much and where to cut, the other side will be quicker:

We got the flat we were looking for, I HAVE A HOME FOR CHRISTMAS!! Yay. Hopefully ill have my workbench up and running in a couple weeks time, we take the lease over on Tuesday.

Sort of, rents going up an extra $70 a week. Things are going to be tight for a while. But the majority of the stress has let up.

The one thing im concerned about, my partner hasnt seen the place. Shes excited purely on my word of what the place is like.

Im excited and dreading it at the same time.

Rents over here are ridiculous.  But a $70 a week raise in rent is even more so.  These landlords think everyone makes 100K a year or more I think...   It's actually cheaper to buy a house now, but the banks won't finance the smaller mortgages as easily.  That's why we are still stuck at my Mother in laws..

Thanks guys. Housing is at a premium in CHCH at the moment, when the earthquake hit it effectively wiped out whole suburbs. Thousands of people left, thousands more are looking for a new home. So rent rises to reflect that. But were lucky, the place were moving into is going for pre-earthquake rates. In the current market it would be worth 400 plus a week. As it is were getting it 350 a week.

Berny told us about when Andrew went through, and

took his hobby room and all his kits, both new and

built with it. He showed us the remainders of his

2-sick-O build, and that's where Rich got the idea,

but correct me Rich, to replace that Phantom.

Yeh. I saw what was left of it when he posted an image of it on the 2011 Rhino Build thread.  So I figured he might like a new one.  I feel honored that his family chose to bury him with it.

Well, I am taking a couple of days off from the F18s.  I need a break.  My hands are cramping up because of all the cool damp weather we have been getting.I may have a small issue with the 20th. anniversary decals for the Revell.  Simply put, I measured and I'm not sure the things are going to fit on that kit, so I may have to do more painting than I planned, or try to somehow salvage the Hobby Boss kit.  It's going to take some serious kit bashing.  Oh well, I love a challenge. lol

LOL Dom.. Sorry, my only B29 kit is buried somewhere in storage. lol

Oh if anyone is interested, I have a couple of kits up on eBay, one is a set. 2 kits, A 1/76 B57B, and a 1/360 TU-144.  And I still have that other Revell F18 Blue Angel up as well.  I gotta sell some of my kits fast.  Marissa's BDay is coming up..   So I am looking for the few ones I have doubles of, or can't do myself, in storage.

I havent really touched that shelf, so unless the missus did something to it ill take photos tonight and show you the extent of the damage. Ill also get a few photos from around the flat to show you the damage to the walls. Every wall has nail pops (nails popping out of the drywall) and every seam between the sheets of drywall has cracked.

But the new place has been freshly renovated so were all good there.

Man, that had to be a real heart breaker to see all your hard work get damaged like that.  But I am sure you are happy that your girl friend and yourself are safe.  Plastic can be repaired or replaced, not life.

Hi Everyone,

I got a little done tonight on the second fuselage.  Since I couldn't find any good documentation on how to cut the fuselage for the DMold F-4E intakes, I decided that I would document the second one as I do it for anyone else that decides to do it.  So it is going to take longer but it will be beneficial for anyone who wants to pursue doing the same thing.  I also got a late start tonight because of other matters I had to take care of.

Hurricane Andrew was one of the most devastating hurricanes to hit Florida,

back in the 90's, billions in damage and millions displaced. A tree crashed through Berny's roof, smashed all his stuff and it all got blown into the storm.

Actually, now that i have a nice F-86 and the front section of its canopy from Russ,

I am still hankering for the rest of it....lol....

But Russ, no pressure, you don't need to send me that back half today,

unless, of course......
