Dude, step away from the bench put the hammer down and take a few deep breaths. It's nothing that a little super glu won't fix. Not every kit is an award winner.

I am sick of decals right now ugh!!!!!!!
They also have the 1/32nd F-4J for $92
Good kit.... with the recent cost increase by Tamiya, that probably is a good deal... depending upon shipping
F is for FIRE, That burns down the whole town!
U is for URANIUM... BOMBS!

I found a Tamiya 1/32 F-4C/D for $96 on amazon.com, good buy?
satch_ip randypandy831 it was originally $50. still a good size a for 72nd scale. heres a picture to show the actually size. sandy is a 48scale. wish more companies would look into this subject. specially a destroyer. i may need to jump into this GB. At Nationals, Squadron had sprues from a Trumpeter 1/48 A3D. It is HUGE!

It should be close to the size of a B-25.... not that big. Good news for availability of an A3D in 1/48 finally, but too bad it will be from Trumpeter. It will be out of my price range. Now if Airfix or Revell would do it I am sure it would be far more affordable...
satch_ip I'd like to join this too. I've got a 1/48 Hasegawa A-7E and an F-8E. Have to build the French F8 for another GB on another site too.

Boy you guys work quick! Nice build there pilot...
Update! Left side decals Done! Ok it's 1AM goodnight!
they were going to be but I found a reference that showed otherwise, and thank you! I'm doin Mcain's A-4 next
Not to shabby. I think the drop tanks should have the upper surfaces camo though.
Left side Decals done...
Save the later ones for another kit, there are pretty nice Aim-9's
Lookin good professor! For the ehaust I used a sludge wash, and some powder pastels,
Professor, if you're gonna be poaching things, ya gotta poach some Sidewinders too. Those ones you have there are 1980s era AIM-9Ls. The kit should still have the older AIM-9Bs on the sprues (rounded nose, smaller single delta canards. Or if you have a Hasegawa Air to Air Missile Weapons Set, AIM-9Es were used for most of the war, being supplanted by AIM-9Js starting in late 1972. Yours is an Air Force F-4 right?
Update! tanks and gun pod... here are my builds so far for the GB parts and display base (partly covered in photo)
And movies these days don't seem to fit us history buffs, although the recent movie Red tails was fantastic and pretty accurte! Also a good newer one is Flyboys
Yes they need to put much more work into those shows, especialy the CGI.. I mean it looks great but replay replay replay! ugh!
Update! So first off I changed a figure up a bit... And a base... Ahha! theres my girl.. they can't stand own their own.. yet! Wing tanks.. Decals as of now (whoo I'm tired!)
Put down a gloss coat overall before you do the decals. This will reduce or eliminiate and silvering. After the decals are dry, they apply your final flat top coat. If you put gloss coat only where the decals will go it gives a funny apearance later after the final flat coat.
Yes, once upon a time I was very well versed upon certain aircraft specs... ranges, speeds, payloads, etc... but most of that is forgotten now... so the shows are something of a refresher course on whatever bird is starring. I just wish that they would tweak the format of the shows a bit to cater to the aircraft fan and not be like a video game replay. If I was king for a day...
Yes they are very basic and tell me nothing I dont already know, but I still enjoy it. And stik, how can i fix the issue with the clear coats? I have not done anything to it yet...
I hear ya professor. I really love the old Wings series from Discovery channel. Definitely aimed at a more aware viewer. Now if they could put that style with some CGI, I might become a regular viewer. My kids are all in their teens or adults now, but yes I still do enjoy a good Sponge Bob or Phinneas and Ferb when they watch. Plankton is my kind of bad guy ;-) I'm glad you like his quote on my sig line... when I heard that one I was dying of laughter for a long time... my kind of f.u.n.
And yes, those top 10 shows kill me. They had one on tanks and they were giving number one to the Leopard II and their "expert" was a musician who owns some old tanks... give me a break. His swipe against the Abrams was because of its turbine engine and he said that a heat seeking missile could home in on its' hot exhaust. He obviously knows nothing about Anti Tank missiles and their guidance systems. The Leopard II has never been in combat against another tank, while the Abrams has and proven exceptionally survivable in head to head combat against the threat which it was designed to meet- 125mm gun armed Soviet tanks such as the T-72. And combat is THE acid test for any piece of military machinery.
I agree about your top 10 fighters, the F-117 is a strike aircraft like the F-111, and not a fighter in the air to air sense by any definition of that sort of aircraft. The F-15 is certainly the most successful air to air fighter of its' generation in combat, no doubt there. The F-105 was a strike fighter that was successful in both areas in combat, air to air and air to ground, and would make my top 10 list.
You may have some decal silvering with the dullcoat on as the layer immediately below the decals.
Ok yes I know its backwards but I did some weathereing... so then I will do a dullcoat then decals then another dullcoat....
