Ahha I see!
I enjoy those shows for the most part but I do not care for some of their format and presentation... Some of the CGI is beautiful. But I get tired of the repeated showing of the same incident from 8 different angles and the "dumbed down" and overly dramatic manner of much of the narration and commentary... not to mention WAY too many commercials....
Oh, my favorite shows are Dogfights and Great Planes
No, I do not watch much TV anymore...
Yep it's all fixed up professor, and did you watch Great Planes on the Hun?
I used Tamiya acrylics. I have never seen their enamels here in California
Nice work Stik, she's beautiful. I almost didn't notice the plane.
One question, did you use Tamiya acrylics or enamels ?
Cheers
Tony
I'm just taking it one GB at a time.
Yes I finished applying the stencils tonite. But half of the pics that I took were out of focus. The camera focused on the wrong areas, rather than the stenciled areas. But a few pics did come out good.
and a better shot of the nose art
I still have to paint a couple more items than I can start the weathering and final assembly and finishing...
Thanks stik!
tcepilot Did any carry the LORAN in Nam?
Did any carry the LORAN in Nam?
A few, like in that pic above that I posted. I want to say that it was during the later portion of the war.
Anyone want to build a L-19 Bird Dog, O-2 Skymaster, or OV-10A Bronco?
Here is one with the LORAN antenna- no red stripe
tcepilot Yep that antenna, and the red stripe on the aft. fuselage where the USAF emblem goes.
Yep that antenna, and the red stripe on the aft. fuselage where the USAF emblem goes.
This stripe behind the national insignia?
That is a turbine warning stripe. It does not seem to be too common on SEA camo F-4s and you will have to research photos of individual aircraft ( OY 463 or Scat XXVII) to be sure if it is there or not.
The "towel rack" antenna was a LORAN (LOng Range Aircraft Navigation) and was fitted only to selected F-4s. Most did not carry this.
only curtain units used the red band. each unit had their own specific markings for their birds.
tamiya 1/48 P-47D $25 + shipping
tamiya 1/48 mosquito $20+ shipping
hobby boss 1/48 F-105G. wings and fuselage cut from sprue. $40+ shipping.
tcepilot Did every USAF F-4C have the red band around them and also did they have the antenna?
Did every USAF F-4C have the red band around them and also did they have the antenna?
What red band? What antenna? The "towel rack" antenna?
but the humidity jumps to about 90%. ehhh. i miss being in CA. average 60-65 a day.
Thank you sir
That hun is a beuaty stik!
Yes, after my marathon session the day before yesterday, I had to step away from the Hun so I don't burn out so close to the finish line. Last night and this morning I did a bit of work on another project that was long overdue. But this evening my Hun will be back up front.
I won't be doing much today, It's just decals for now!
professordeath- oh yea, i hear you. the heat and humidity kicks here in NC also. storm was moving in so the cloud cover lowered to temp to about 70.
