Coming along nicely R squared! Have fun at the mall brother, all of mine is done and I'll be danged if I go back out!
Joe, anyone with an Eduard 190 in their stash that has not built one yet should have your post above printed out and blown up, hanging on the wall over their bench during the build. All the mentioned items are absolutely critical to a good fit and mostly hassle free build of an Eduard 190 whether its the A series or the Doras!
Eric
Nice Jabo Doug! As far as xmas shopping, No force on earth could drag me back to the darn shopping center. Traffic is the worst I've ever seen for a city of only 200k.
Doug: Looking great, buddy!
Greg: I wanted to give you some tips on that Eduard kit, but it looks like Joe said everything already! Great work my friend!
Handi: Would you mind posting some pics of the sprues and that Big-Ed set? I thought about getting exactly the same combination of this kit and AM stuff. This build's gonna be interesting for sure!
Doug, excellent. Please keep posting fiddly stuff pics. My head still swims a bit at the steps to create the excellent exteriors I see here, so again I for one very much appreciate each and every post.
Joe, I had time to really read the post above. Is printed out and ready to take downstairs tomorrow for further study and reference. IOW, is more important than imagined at first glance so thank you very much again.
Nathan, we had to go out today and saw the same traffic phenomenon you mentioned in a town of similar size to yours. Traffic backed up in ways I'd have thought impossible.
Eric:It's already printed out and in my "little black book"!!!! I studied it like the multiplication tables in grade school until I got it all through my thick skull! LOL
Nathan:It would take somebody holding me at gunpoint to go face the crowds of Christmas!!!
Greg:Your welcome bud! That's good info to have as I found out!!
Clemens:Thanks dude! BTW stikpusher was hinting at me to do another SBD!!! I got my friggin decals in from Hasegawa a month after I finished!!! Hahahaha!!
Doug:What paint work you do! Its people like you on this forum that inspire me to do better with my body work and paint. Both of which I feel I need alot of work with.

Sparten- No problems Sir! Be glad to let you see, this is a new one for me too!
Nathan- I drive in St.Cloud (yes the one mentioned on the Johnny Carson Show like 30 plus years ago,, it hasn't gotten any better since then ),, I feel your pain
Doug: Absolutely fantastic work as usual. Seeing your cut gear doors has got me reconsidering doing that myself with mine. It would simplify the mounting of my gear doors quite a bit as there are no guide pins for setting them. I had thought about it early in my build as there is certainly no reference that they weren't. Hmm.. I'll contemplate my navel some more on this. Again, Thank You for demonstrating your marvelous abilities Doug.

LOL... Joe, you never fail to come up with some of the funniest comments! Yes my friend, the sans lower doors are different, but I can see why they did it. And guys... you are too kind. I look at much of your work and feel lacking in comparison... I'm just glad to be able to work with such a talanted lot such as you all!

OK all... got a little more done today.... After taking Sweetums to the GD EF****G mall again! Dont know how she does it yet, but I'm dead set, determined and guarding against her feminine wiles...and the next thing I know, I'm at the &^%* Mall.!!! This time all I had to do was drop her off though.(LOL) Any who, I started on the 2nd phase of the paint job... So far I think its going to come out OK...Everything going as planned so far.
I did OK to this point, then the gun ran low on paint, (I only use a few drops at a time when doing this type of work). I rinsed it out, added a few more drops to the reservoir.... and I couldnt get the pattern to work again, Go figure, same paint , same pressure and trigger setting, but wouldnt resume as before, OH well added a few more drops of lacquer thinner, mixed and did the best I could, The extra LT worked wonders.
Well, Thats about all I have for now... Probably more towards the weeks end, depending on how much I can get out of during the Christmas break in the action!(ha)
Holy Oh My ..WOOOOW!!!!!!! Doug, That is flat out, unadulterated, absolutely OUTSTANDING!!!! This is has finally led me to one conclusion.....I'm not Worthy !!!!!
Marvellous work, Doug! She's looking pretty damn fastastic!
Right on Doug!! Too bad you can't take the kit and some supplies with you and model in the car while waiting in the parking lot...
That is SO COOL Doug. That's some first class airbrushing if I ever saw any. Judging by your obvious nerves of steel, that trip to the mall just aggravated you, didn't shake you up.
GOOD GRIEF!!!!! You sir, are worthy of a whole SQUAD of goons bowing!!!
ummm...............make that a platoon!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amazing looking 190 going there!
LOL... Nathan, Aint that the truth...(HA)) Well again, thanks guys, Right now shes drying for awhile, and next is the final phase of the paint and detail, I have to wash,(overspray) off , not too much, a little overspray helps to blend IMO. Then I have to pin wash, finish up the fiddly parts, (you know, like the pitot tube that keeps breaking off if installed too soon) and do the the dead flat coats. I am intending to do a dio for this one but may post finished pics first,,, haven;t decided yet. But Thanks again my friends. You are all the best, each and every one!
Wowza Doug, nice work on that crazy scheme bud!!!
Wow - that's a jaw dropper Doug!!
Can I mail you mine to finish, pretty please?
LOL... Better wait till I'm finished! You may change your mind... (grin)

We may have some different Christmas traditions here in Austria, but we celebrate this special day as well, so Merry Christmas to all of you and your families!
And You Clemens!!! By the way, I keep forgeting to tell you but over the years I've always heard and been told by the Grandparents and GreatGrandparents that one branch of the family was from the Dutch/Austrian area of Europe, and that the family Bible (I wish I could see it) Lists a James Shearer arriving in the Commonwealth of Virginia in 1698, from England. Noit sure if that meant he was English or Austrian. I would love to see Austria some day, I've been to and throughly enjoyed seeing England on several occasions.
I have to ashamedly admit I forgot about this GB until I read about the extension right now - sorry guys. Anyway Merry Christmas all and here is the my start up pic and thanks for the extension....
I'll be going the middle subject RED 3 And this is where i'm at right this minute...

Good to have you jugjunkie! Looks like you're making some good progress there. I'm building that exact same kit! Look out for the landing gear as it's WAY too short.I'm using Eduards landing gear instead. Aside from that it's gone together almost TOO smoothly for what I'm doing to it. Man it's great to have you in here, Joe
Welcome jugjunkie!! It's awesome to have you join us here. You are certainly of to an excellent start. That's some really nice work you have put in so far. So, exactly where are you that the weather is so dadgum pleasant?
Thanks for the cheerful welcome lads, I'm from Durban South Africa Joe.
Well ...Believe it or not I was able to get a little more done last night, See, My wife has a couple of shows from her homeland that she follows(kinda like soap operas) and I'll set there and pester her and poke fun at them until she says ...Why dont you go work on your model?... (me) Oh, really? you dont mind? (snicker...) Well OK. LOL... And thats how I get away with it! Any way, heres some more...
I should be able to finish up soon ... I took the rest of the week off so I will lave some time to work at the bench.
