Its the Hasegawa A-14, or long range recce A-4. Nice kit, although Revell of Germany has outdated it now.
I did have my eyes on the A-14 when it came out the other year. But i didn't take the chance, i might pick one up on E-Bay if i come across it. Persoanlly, i think the the Hase and revell kits are a pretty similar standard, but the price of the revell kit does make the Hase look vastly over proced.
I have not sen the A-14 built yet, so will be watching for it.
I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Thanks Bish. That's a grand compliment coming from you. And Thanks for the link to Hannants. It's a bit late in my build (I think) to wait on those. I may go ahead and order them though for my other 190.
Yeah Bish, Although my stash is predominantly 1/48, which I really prefer, I do enjoy 1/72 scale. Don't worry, Joe will succumb as soon as space becomes a critical issue.

Woooooooo Hooooooooo Hooooooooooooooooo!!! I dont think so Joe. One more comment like that and I'll find a way to build a 1:1 scale Fw 190 and put it in yer front yard! The local authorities should enjoy that!!!!!!!!!! LOL!!

Here where I live I'd become just another house with a piece of esoteric art in the yard.
Good then I'll paint it pink.....
Just got through ordering my insurance kit in case things go stupid on my Royal Class for 20 bucks from Squadron. Yes Joe its 48th scale!!!!
Bish, You are da Man!! I ordered the Quickboost Revi 16b gun sights from Sprue Bros. today. Although Hannants had them they require a 20 pound minimum order for us yanks and that equates to more moola than I was willing to fork out for the gunsights. Yet after some searching I found them at Sprue. The fact that it comes with 6 of them is OK as I have another F-8 and a bid in on a Hasegawa 1/72 Dora. Thanks Again!
Thats ok Joe. Hannants is always my default setting for searching for stuff. And its easier to post the link so you can see what items are out there for yourself. Be interested to see what you think of those sights. I have an order going to Hannants this weekend, i may add a set myself. I have a few 190's they will suit.

Well, while you at it, i think my front garden is big enough.

Greetings,
Moving along on the cockpit. It's so very, very nice to be back in Tamiya-land after struggling through my last two builds. This just feels so effortless.
Started by spraying cockpit and other inside surfaces with Tamiya flat black, followed by a thin spray of MM acrylic RLM 02. Gives it a nice, uneven look with some depth that doesn't show up much in the pics (hat tip to Doogs for detailing this technique).
I did go ahead and order a set of Ultracast wheels. Otherwise, I think this one will be out of the box except for belts and decals.
I've already got the fuselage together and am starting wing assembly. Updates to come.
Cheers,
Stoutfella

Stoutfella - Nicely done. Looks like your off to an excellent start. I strongly agree about Tamiya kits. Just nice to put together a kit that is pretty much hassle free.
Nice cockpit. Good call on the AM wheels, as this Tamiya kit suffers from gear issues.
Ok, finally got off my rear and did some masking. Here's the method:
I used the decals as a template, then placed tracing paper over them and traced the outline. I then placed my making tape on top of this as its much easier to cut over and to peel the tape off of, as opposed to decal paper.
Get yourself a swivel blade:
Fit is good:
Also masked the black stripe on the sides, along with the top half of the fuselage cross:
As for the A-8, finished masking the bands:
...Paint tonight!
Oh my my my.....that masking looks superb, finish should be great!!

Even better, that will really please the Parish council
Stoutfella, that pit is looking great.
nathan, looking good. Is there a reason you decided not to use the decals on the nose.
Older Hase decals are kinda thick, plus, thats alot of decal area to weather. Just thought I'd paint em on. Its really not that tough to do. Although I had a tough time burnishing the 40mm Tamiya tape down. So it left some bleed through.
Can i replace my eduard a5 with a Tamiya F-8? My dog destroyed the A5. Hope its alright Mustang1989.
Got some more work done on my Eduard A-8. I used the fuselage locating points to make sure the weapons bay was aligned correctly and the fuselage halves fit nicely. This hasn't been my favorite kit. The sprue attachment points are numerous and thick and the parts have heavy mold lines that need to be removed. The wing halves fought me the entire way but I think I have those tamed now. Guess I've been spoiled with Tamiya kits.

Well, here she is, completed. Again the first story I read was that The pilot was unknown, but that at the end of hostilities he was seen setting his aircraft down in an open field, powering down and just walking away. I later found a picture of the tail section only, laying on an airbase in Germany about 2 months after the war with this works no. on it, and heard somewhere of a "white 3 " that crashed on takeoff in Denmark. So I chose to go with the first story I found while researching this aircraft. Any way... I have commited to another GB, but when finished I intend to do another here as soon as possible. Looking forward to all the great work going on here, Love those 190s!
Back soon...
Doug

stoutfella: Man you have it going on with that cockpit!! Nice work!
Nathan T: Nice job on the paint. I'll send you my paint work and I'll accept shipments in for straightening warped parts for you!! Fair trade???
Rigidrider: Where do I begin. That is just a nice piece of work there! Gotta hand it to you, nice work along with the speed! Also bravo on the base. I've been meaning to do something like this myself. Looks great Doug!!
Rigidrider, that came out great.
Doug, Spectacular build. You have certainly done that Butcher Bird justice. Look forward to your return.
Doug, now thats sweet. I like it.
wtj, i hope the dog got a good telling off.
Thank you one and all... I guess like I said, I'm blessed with a loving understanding wife who doesn't grump too much along with the fact that she works weekends coupled with no kids (all grown) and its winter so for me that translates into ALOT of build time. Like I said and Mustang can confirm, I was really excited and ready to build 190s. The 109 is a close second with me, but The 190 still gets my vote. Gonna try to build a couple more, but not till soon after another GB commitment. Will be watching till then for further developments from all of you. Some very nice builds taking place here!
