OK, seem to have it right.  Just wanted to share a little entry that graced the tables at the show in Ajax, Ontario a few weeks ago.

I hope to be starting within the hour.  Keep at it guys!

Hey Gents,

Best of luck with your madness entries.  I seem to see an alcohol theme here.  Perhaps it makes the build go smoother?  I will be starting soon, but need a quick check on the photobucket thing.  I have not used it since last years build, so please bear with me as I figure this thing out again.

a little entry from the Hallowe'en show in Ajax

Hey all-got started at 1800 CST-model is the Revell-o-gram 1932 Ford Coupe.

Plan is to go for a 'modern' Rat Rod-will use the kit Ford V-8 and the kit suspension.

Might try to grab some better rims & tires out of a different kit but we'll see.

Attempting to replicate the may weekend builds of my youth-no airbrush-just spray cans and paint brushes.

Body, engine & interior are primed.  Plan to assemble the chasis tomorrow and hit it with flat black, along with the body,  Interior will be craft acrylic tan. Just need to figure out a way to dull down the chrome plating without having to strip and repaint.

Cockpit is painted, assembled and now drying. I will soon be adding it to the fuselage and closing it up. Hopefully the halves will cooperate and the wings will too.

Moving ahead.

BK,

I built that kit at the first of the year. It goes together well, but watch out for the wing roots.

Will do Sir.

First trip to the booth is in the books, now detail painting. Wings and tires are drying for furture sanding and paint. This kit is moving rather well,...so far.

Howdy folks.  Those are some nice kits.  I bet they'll look great.  Here are my survival necessities for this weekends frivolity!

  1. Hasegawa FW-190/A Egg Plane (I have to infuse a little whimsy)
  2. Coffee - More where that came from!
  3. Doritos - More where that came from too!
  4. Wifes patience - In limited suply...

It's 3:00 pm... lets do this!

Actually Lew, I had/ve to finish up my MASH chopper for the Model Club Meeting. I still have to finish painting the wounded figures this evening. So, I'll start my egg P 47 tomorrow.

Unless I get caught in a "honey do", I should be able to start at 1900 or 2000 tonight.  I dont get a newspaper so my camera will have to suffice.

Ladies and gentlemen, I like the attitudes that are developing here.

Stik, you would be more than welcome.  This build usually runs for 3-4 weekends, just let me know.

RobS, there's always next weekend!

As for myself, after a trip to the LHS on the way home, I plan to start on something. I know I said the F189, but not in the mood for a car right now. Your fearful leader.

Can't wait, can't wait. Wait, wait, wait...

I'll kick off at 2000 PST with the sprue shot of the Friday newspaper.

First order of business- dip the canopies in clear so they're dry by Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!

I think I remember a Hasegawa weapons set out in the garage of doom that has better Falcons.

"Sure honey, I'll find the Christmas lights this afternoon".

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

I've got to go out Friday night to a family do, then a busy morning Saturday, earliest I can start is mid afternoon Saturday. I'll change my build from an Airfix Chipmunk to an Airfix 1/72 Spitfire PR XIX. It's been on my mind for a while. It will be built pretty much out of the box, and I think I will utilise the Swedish decals from the kit. I'll post the appropriate starting photo when I get to that moment. The advantage of this kit is 1. No rivets :) 2. Single colour paint scheme, the only masking is the canopy. 3. Recent kit, engraved detail 4. Simple decals The only disadvantage is that I don't have any PRU Blue in acrylic paint, so I will have to use enamels. It may take a bit longer to dry. Hopefully I can get the paint down at night, so it can dry as I sleep, but let's see. Cheers Tony Gee, I'm feeling the time pressure already.

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

Yea, We have to keep reminding them. I don't know why, but the ladies just don't seem to understand the importance of our hobby LOL

At the moment, I'm leaning toward an olive green D-Day P-47 with invasion stripes. This is the 3rd P 47 I will have done.

I think my next egg will be the p-38. I thought the egg 38 would be more complex, like the other P 38 kits, so I don't think it would be a good weekender kit.

I've seen others complaining about the 47 being short one gun on each side. The wings are in one peice, so adding the 4th gun isn't going to be as easy as I thought it would be. Maybe, I should take a day or two to think about that.

Can't wait to see that on Ken. Ha ha a P-47 egg plane LOL. That's got to be cute!!

I'm starting on Friday the 13th, and fighting tooth and nail to hold the line against my wife who keeps suggesting stuff to do next weekend. "No honey, I have my build then". "Oh yeah, that's right" she responds.
I guess it's all about what's important
