I found my p 47 egg in my mailbox today. And it's sitting here calling out my name. I see you said dates. Would there be any objections to starting today or tomorrow?

Wellllll, you betcha lewbud, count me in!!  I've participated in the last four Weekend Madness builds so I can't sit this one out!

Don't know if I can make it the weekend of the 13th, more likely T-Day weekend since I have to stay in town due to work.  Also not sure what kit yet....I'll have to dig around in the stash, although most likely it will be 1/35 armor or 1/72 ac.

Ernest

Last Armor Build - 1/35 Dragon M-26A1, 1/35 Emhar Mk.IV Female

Last Aircraft Builds - Hobby Boss 1/72 F4F Wildcat & FW-190A8

Did I say Airfix Mig-15? My fingers must have slipped when I was typing. What I really meant to type was Hasegawa Messerschmitt Bf108E-3 with Legion Condor markings. I must really work on those typing skills...

Yeah, I can see how autocorrect could mess that up.  Front page updated.

Caveman and the rest of you scurvy dogs, you are more than welcome to build more than one (this isn't Highlander for goodness sakes).  Some attempted and completed two in one weekend.  Last year the build, ran for four weekends and I managed to complete three out of four kits.  Besides, there"s always room for Tigermeet  aircraft.

All this pirate talk is making me want to attempt ship for this GB.  That should be a hoot, me building a sailing ship in 48 hours.   It could be done, for I have a Heller Nina and a Pinta that have really low part counts.

Blast your eyes man! Build those ships or be forced to walk the plank!Pirate Don't think we've had a sailing vessel before.

greentracker, glad to hear you're ok and got your kit.

Hello everyone,

I see things are beginning to heat up here. I scored my P 47 Egg on Ebay today. I'm going try to build a collection of Egg planes. Noooo, I'm not doing the whole collection in 48 hours, If I tried that, I'm sure the men in the white coats would be at my door. LOL

Anyhow, due to circumstances beyond my control. I apologize for my enforced absence. I ended up in the hospital after a fall. I also found out I broke a couple of ribs in the fall.

That would be a first.  I couldn't rig a ship in 48 years.

Hey Lewbud, I appreciate your hosting this group build.  It's good to see just how many people have signed up.  I had a blast doing this last year even though I was nervous to appempt a kit in 48 hours.  I encourage anyone who reads this to give this one a try, and you will be surprised at what you can do in a short time.  I have just rebuilt my airbrush and am in the process of clearing off the bench in preparation for some madness.

If you are allowing multiple builds this year, my second attempt, and this one makes me nervous, will be a 1/48 Italeri Tornado ECR in some kind of German Tiger Meet scheme.

Avast ye scoundrels, the front page has been updated!  We still don't have a badge.   Since that scoundrel of a gentleman GMorrison offered up an example way back on page one, I humbly ask him to slap an appropriate title on it and be done.  That way those that collect such things, can collect such things.  Caveman, glad to see you join us with some Eighties era Soviet goodness. I myself am leaning towards a Tamiya 1/20 Ferrari F189 as driven by Nigel Mansell at the 1989 Portuguese Grand Prix.  Brandon, I join you in feeling like I've bitten off more than I can chew.  However, a lot can happen in 48 hours and we will prevail.  Pirate

OK, I chose the first kit I will attempt.  You can put me down for a Trumpeter 1/48 Yak 38 Forger.

I think you may be right. Thats alot of kit for this build; I'm not sure that MIG 3 can be done justice in 48 hours. But if anyone could do it, it would be you.

If you were really gunning for something Soviet, an I-16 might be more ideal.. But thats just my .02 worth.

BrandonK

I have my kit, and I'll have to mix the Soviet colors I need, but when I'll actually be able to pull the 48 hour trigger on this is still an unknown. At this point I don't think I can build over the weekend of the 13th, but maybe. Looking like more than likely the next weekend-ish.

I may have bitten off more than I can chew attempting to build a 1/48 fighter in 48hrs. Tongue Tied

I may be looking at starting Friday the 13 Indifferent, since our IPMS meeting is the next weekend and my brother-in-law coming the weekend after.
Now I just need to convince my wife to give me that time block.

Steve

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Alright you mob of modelling miscreants, the front page has been updated.  Welcome to the asylum catdaddy, caveman, lostagain, b_one fixer, RobS, and Mopar madness.  B_onefixer, will you be building a Panther or Cougar?  Per GMorrison's suggestion, i've updated the rules.  A kit may not be started, and a proof of life shot is highly recommended.  It's not that I don't trust you, it levels the playing field and enforces the spirit of the build.  Plus it adds to the drama of the build.  Only 21 shopping days to go!

Hmmm... My first group build.  Please put me down for the Hasegawa Fw-190A Egg Plane!  I'll give it my best effort... although I can't guarantee there won't be Dorito crumbs in the finish.

God, Family, Models...

At the plate: 1/48 Airfix Bf109 & 1/35 Tamiya Famo

Make four sandwiches, set up mr. Coffee, make sure there's a couple cans in the frig., do what you need to in bed and get 8.

Buddy I suggest every one start with a box dump/ sprue shot on the days paper. It adds to the general mayhem. The first thing I do is dip the canopies in future 'cause that takes 24 to set. Prime all the parts on the sprues. Sort the decals and look at what's there.

Well, I can't pass this up.  I'm in but with what, I'm not quite sure yet.  I am waiting for a new battery for my camera to show up too.  Looking toward mid November.  Can't wait to start!  Did someone say 5 this year?

I'm in. I'm thinking right now either something in 1:72 with wings or 1:48 with treads.

Edit: Airfix 1:72 Mig-15 with Eduard PE. I'm going to try the new Vallejo metallic paint on it.
