Just started my 251/1 last night. Tamiya is soo dang easy to build! This is the first Tamiya kit I have built in about 7 or 8 years so it is like new stuff to me!

Band of Brothers! Right on.

Mourningstar and I have a VCR, DVD, and Dolby 5.1 surround in our work area so we watch the heck outta movies while working. Think I am gonna throw in Saving Private Ryan tonite to bring inspiration to my 251/1. Thanks for the idea!

Still in love with my Dragon 250/10 Smile [:)]

Got all the wheels on (not tracks tho) and most of the interior done. Fit is better than good - it's brilliant, flash minimal and no visible pin marks. Happy happy happy!

Not sure I am all that happy with the tread depiction on the front tyres though, need to find some good close-up shots. Dragon have a very deep groove right round the centre - thot I had missed some flash or had a bad fit at first, but nope, that's how they are made.

I should get the interior finished and some paint on in the next couple of days.

Manik_In, Underside should be basic body colour till right near the end when anything is possible including red primer Smile [:)]

QUOTE: Claymore, You can finish up with your halftrack, and then get something, or you can post stuff about it in here, if you like, for now, you will be on the register on the front.

Fair enough, I started the 251/1 outside the GB so I'll keep it out. I have enough on the closet shelf to do some thing else. Big Smile [:D]
Not sure what though, maybe the kubel thats supposed to go in a diorama with a pair of Panthers.

i built a tamiya 251not to long ago, it turned out good, exept for the left drive sprocket, had problems where i put the axels in backwards, long story short i had to cut it off and make my own axel. my tracks don't sag, very tight. ManiK_Impressive: i'm not sure what colors they were, but i think near the end all vehicals were painted grey because of shortage of paint. I am going to paint mine some time, it is currently the grey it was molded in. I put sand bags around it and i am going to dig it down into te ground of the diorama base. i tried to similate bullet hits using a tooth pick and silver paint, and now i need to repaint the whole thing. still haven't ordered the models, i REALLY need to do this soon, maybe this weekend.

I'm kind of regreting not thinking over what model to buy, I'm still going to do my SdKfz but I don't think it was the best choice for an amature like me, alot of little pieces and stuff, one question though, how should I do the underside of the thing, was it dark yellow, or was it a different colour?

I got my jeep doen, I decided to go with my reference photos and not put any markings on my MASH jeep. I weathered it today and finished the stretchers. I drybrushed a little red on them but i think they are a little to bright.

Mourningstar I have the same problem.. Cleaning them is a definate solution but I have also found that using Tamiya's Gray base coat spray helps imensly. Give that a try and see if that helps you.

Started my universal Carrier. So far a breeze compared to the old kitty. Little disappointed that it wasn't updated like I thought it was. I helped my son build one years ago and liked it. Am going to do a desert version this time and weather it.

Will start it maybe this weekend , I worked on my Marder III today instead , which has been on the back burner for a bit ! not for sure on how I'm going to do the next M20. but i plan on putting some more detail work into the next few. I spent 4 1/2 hrs alone on the figures of one last night. For some odd reason I cant get the Tamiya flat flesh to hold on the faces of the figuers well, all the other colors that I have used on them hold fine(Model Master).

Hey scorn, welcome back to WWII!Big Smile [:D] I am building the same kit as you and it is very easy to build. The interior detail is pretty bad, theres only seats. But the model is nice and easy. I have to disagree with beav though, i put my tracks on lastnight and was able to get them to sag with a really strong.probably similar to apoxy i dunno. Anyways good luck.

Ok, Lots of stuff
1. I knew somthing was wrong, when we went from 12 pages to 11! Thanks for the explanation, and telling us, about your mishap Andytee.
2. Claymore, You can finish up with your halftrack, and then get something, or you can post stuff about it in here, if you like, for now, you will be on the register on the front.
3. Scorn, the 251/1 is a very straight forward kit-I liked it, and mine turned out very nicely. My only problem, of course was the forward steering mechanism(you can turn the wheels), and the short length of the tracks-they fit, but don't sag like they are supposed to. Also, the interior detailing is a bit sparse.
4. Mourningstar, you must be made of money! 17.50 for 4 M20's?!!! What are you gonna do with that many anyway? Like one new in Europe(the one that you posted), Africa, Winter, and like French or something??

I will be building the Tamiya "2 1/2 ton cargo truck" as my main GB subject, but alongside I will be building a Tamiya "Willy`s Jeep". I am planning a diorama and may as well build both together.

Ok. Couldn't find a decent US half-track sooo. Gonna go with a German one.

I haven't built a WW2 vehicle in over 18 years so here goes.

Gonna build the Tamiya HANOMAG Sdkfz251/1. Never built one of these so here we go.

I was looking at some photos for my ambulance jeep and they didnt have the identificaiton numbers on it, all they had was a red cross on the hood, I guess this means not decaling for me. I'll send some pictures up when I get a chance but i dont knwo where to host them. Could you guys help me with it?
