Ashamed [*^_^*] oops! embarassed!

Just confirming that I AM still in this build - I over-reacted to a rather nasty email last night - not related to this build - and deleted a heap of posts and struck myself off the register. Silly really, but I felt a bit Banged Head [banghead] at the time!

Darn - back to just one post! Wink [;)]

Well I opted out of the M-8 and picked up the Universal Carrier Forced Recon. To my chagrin they only appeared to add three new crewmembers. I thought it was newly tooled. I should be starting tomorrow. I'm thinking of the desert for this guy. Any recommendation for paint. I have Tamiya's Desert Yellow. Is that close? Can the figures with the pants and jackets also work say in Tunisia. Seems awful hot though.

I would like to join this GB. I am currently on with a M1A1, but another AFV should be manageable. I will be visiting a large model shop in Manchester on Tuesday, so I will decide then on my project.

John- Looking good. One thing about the dash though, I think the gas mask containers would be the standard gray. I'll check the sites i used when I built mine and see if there is anything for sure about it.

Awasoda- Thats pretty much it. When you finish just send me the pics and a write up about the build to groupbuild@firehousemail.com I think the streatchers would look right as a light OD. They would have goten alot of use more than likely so they would not look new.

Now one question, what color would the stretchers be. I painted them olive drab, but it doesnt look good against the o d green body of the jeep. I was thinking about drybrushing it with faded olive drap, what do you think. Also my build when it is done will be put into a diorama with my sherman build. SO i will send a picture when the jeep is done and also another in the diorama.
IF you can't beat them then they are not tied down properly

Well I opened up my jeep willy today and had to laugh for it is tiny, even compared to the 25pdr. And to think it was the work horse.I got the engine and leaf springs on and was wondering if there is a detailkit out for it? the taimya willy that is.

the research i did showed that the interior near the driver was white. as for the seats my research told me that they were leather for sure, but most of the ones i found were brown, only a couple of black on some FAMOs, even on green one.

Mourningstar- Can't find any pics, then I imagine about 50 of them would be rather appealing then huh Big Smile [:D]

I'm on my tracks right now and i am wondering what color to paint them.
all the pics i got are black and white. Some of the museums have black tracks on their sdkfz's but that black paint is most likley to chip off. So what i was wondering is should i paint the gunmetal or rust eitherone with steel drybrush. let me know what you think.

thanxs

You can't even tell.

John,,, For what its worth, the Figure that came with the 251/D Half track that I just Finished didn't fit that well either, and It was a tamiya figure in a Tamiya Model. As far as fixing the figure to work, depends on whats in the way. If the legs are holding you up you might considor takinging them off. If the Dragon model is anything like the Tamiya one, it will be very hard to see the legs anyhow. Well thats just my suggestion maybe someone else has a better one.

I am going to express my anger. Angry [:(!]Angry [:(!] I bought Dragons German halftrack crew to go with my Tamiya SdKfz 251/1. I was finished with the interior and was test fitting the driver, He did not fit, Not by a long shotAngry [:(!]Angry [:(!]Censored [censored]Banged Head [banghead]Banged Head [banghead]

ERRRRRR!!! I was going to put my halftrack in a diorama but now i might not be able to because of this. Angry [:(!]Angry [:(!]
I'm thinking that the problem lies in the seats, they are to close to the dashboard and too low to the floor.
Or maybe it's becuasei bought dragon figs for a tamiya model. O wellSad [:(]
is there any other halftrack crews out there?

So far my halftrack is good though, I am very happy about it because it is my first 1/35 model.

Well Gang here is the completed turret for the 222. The right side is kinda straight up(no pic of that) but the left side and the inside turned out better than I had figured it would. This is the first time I have attempted to take out part of a model and put in a replacement part. I started the drive train assembly and it has gone smooth except for my little blunder of leaving a part out that I missread the instructions on. Oh well that was easy to fix.

Awasoda, and Thundergod, if you want in, your in, and I will add you to the list on the front-also, ask Lizard about adding you, and your model to the wesite-just click on my hompage(you have to go to my profile first though)
And if you don't want to read everything, the Sd.222/223 and the M8/20 have very large followings here, so do kubels, and a few jeeps.
