BUT ON A LIGHTER NOTE, I hope you have great fun with a winter vehicle, haven't done many myself-but you can be creative with the paint scheme-you know mud *there was a lot in russia* or rusting. Whatever floats your boat. Also, I love doing interiors and things, I don't scratchbuild much, but whatever is in my spares box that fits in nice, and is accurate, finds its way onto a model...lol

Hmmmmm, well, does, he want to join this build, or into modelling?
I am inclined to think it is the former, but I am not sure. I believe Tamiya makes a M3 Scout car, and remember that this is all eras, and there is a goodly amount of wheeled pc's from the soviet union. Does he want ww2? I am sure if you post a thread of your own on the main forum, you could get something good. And about those photoetched stuff, I wish I had some of that for my M1, I just hate cutting out that mesh. Tough luck man....

Yep it is Tamiya.

I am thinking about going over the top with this one. I borrowed a book on armoured cars, and although the shape of the kit is right, it has a few issues. I was going to do a full, accurate interior, cut ot the moulde in "fresh air screen" below the turret and replace the grenade screens etc. Mine is the old kit without the photoetched screens.Disapprove [V]

Gonna finish it as an eastern front vehicle with winter white wash, and alter the antenna to the stowed position. The box shows it as a Afrika corps vehicle, but I just finished my fourth one of those!

My electrical apprentice is keen to join as well, and he is interested in Russian armour. Anyone got any ideas to inspire him?

Hey Beav,
Does a Sdkfz 223 qualify as a small AFV? I have decided that is what I'd like to do.

Don't worry keller, you can always wait to start on it-just that you are on that list, you can go at it as long as you want

You know, when you are driving around in a desert for a few months, and you are in combat ops weekly/daily/hourly take your pick, you might not have the time or the patience, or the water, or the razor, or the mirror to shave(*I think it was the water one the most)
lol
I almost started my M20-but I caught myself so I started on a 25 pdr field gun...

You can go ahead and start on The 4th or 5th of April, I all want to know, is if you are going to participate by may 20th. At that time, the GB will be closed to any newcomers-as we don't want an indeffinite length of time for this build. You don't even need to start at april 4/5 just let me know that you want in, and I will add you to the list.

beav, Are we still on with this build starting 4/5? or are we waiting for the other group builds to wrap up. Just wondering becuase I wanted to order my kit and this build has seem to spark some debate, see "planned builds" post.

hmmm, the link seems to work, but for some reason the website does not like to be linked. I think it is your web server. I visited the site and saw the picture, now it shows up fine on the thread. Like I said, this leaves me to believe that the forum does not like your web host. I would suggest just posting links to your photos.

I will make this a sticky post, only if the admin of the forums, will as expressed by shermanfreak will clean out the dead or slowed down sticky's. otherwise it will have to stay at the top of it's own merit.

Hi guys,

Regarding Phroosh might, Phroosh will.

I really like the idea of group builds.

I looked in the cupboard and I have a Sdkfz 223 also, so it's either that or another Kubel!

OH, hey, that's a great idea-so far armor forum is the only one with a "sticky jam" that I have seen yet. That is a good idea edog. Saves a bit of hassle. Anyone else want to chime in on this?

Just a thought, but to try to help avoid the build up of sticky group builds that never seem to be removed from the beginning of our armor forum, perhaps we should not make this a sticky. The weekend group did ok without a sticky… If the thread remains active it will be near the top, or just bookmark the thread if you are worried about loosing it.

Like I said, it was just a thought.

I think you have to contact one of our supreme leaders to make it sticky, i.e. David?

This one sounds cool, but I sort of commited to two other builds. May drop out of the gun and tow, not sure. I've seen many halftracks that intrigue me, but I love that little Universal Carrier. Should be an easy build(for once) if I don't build the figures.
