I'm done with the Bat-Pod, I'll be starting the Challanger II soon.

This was a supper fun little kit. I highlyrecomend it if you're looking for something quick and different.

Steve,

The bike is looking good. Those are two good looking build buddies.

Well this little bike is moving right along, less than 12 hours behind me and I already just need to put the sub-assemblies together. This is such a really cool little kit, far more complex that it looks at first glance. I may be able to start my Challanger II tomorrow.

BTW while I've been away from my build buddy, my brother's dog is happy to sub until I move back.

My build buddy

My brother's helper.

Anyway, here's the Bat-Pod so far.

Eagle,

Thunderbirds scheme? Maybe a classic orange Jagermeister Porsche scheme?

Brilliant ideas!  But no cigar.  Thunderbirds scheme...I love it!

Thanks Buddy, I'm in Richardson (Dallas area for y'all who don't know where Richardson is). That's why I can work on it today LOL

I'll be in Boise for Christmas.

Sprue,

Thanks! If only my 1/1 were as clean.

Steve,

Nice start. Are you home with the wife, or still here in Dallas?

Eagle,

Thunderbirds scheme? Maybe a classic orange Jagermeister Porsche scheme?

I've updated the front page with Caveman's Lightning build. Only work on the Mini so far was to glue the engine to the subframe and a couple of bits and bobs on the engine, nothing really pic worthy.

Wow!  What awesome builds!  The paint job on the pick-up....WOAH!!!  Amazing!

I will start my madness either tonight (depending on how much tripdaphin is in the turkey.  LOL!) or tomorrow sometime.

Awesome work everyone!

Oh...I think I have figfured out what paint scheme I'm going to do on the 229...but I'm going to keep it a surprise for now.  LOL!

Caveman, nice job on the truck, something that would take me a month BTW.

I started the Bat-Pod (drying now) at just after 10am this morning. I got a late start because I had to clear everything off the bench and organize a little.

For starters, I sprayed the parts black, of course, and some silver. Thank you to SprueOne who gave me a link to his build so I can avoid the pitfalls of this kit.

Thanks for the welcome and invitations to join.  I'm moving in about 2 weeks and all my tools are packed.  Once we get settled and i get my bench set up I'll certainly do a group build.  Probably will just be a spectator on this one.  Since posting last i learned there are many group builds. Cool idea.  Can't wait to play!

Caveman- i like pics 2 and 4 the most.

Lewbud - Looks like the Mini Cooper is coming along nicely!  Purple roof?   Hmmm.....Huh?  Dying to see what the finished kit will look like!!

So am I!

Moparmadness,

Thanks. One of my better rattlecan finishes.

Steve,

Looking forward to seeing your builds.

Ted,

Welcome to the forums! This build will run for a little while. Pick a simple kit and join us.

Firstly, welcome Ted.  Grab a kit and give it a shot!

Thanks to all for the kind words.  Firstly I will say that this paint is a giant PITA to photograph.  Look through the viewfinder and the truck is deep green, snap the pic and the flash turns it into the bronze hue.  Natural light may be better but there isn't much of that these short days!  To be honest this paint (Alclad) has flecks that are too large for this size kit and I wouldn't recommend it.

Pick whichever you like for the front page Lew.

Hi Ted and welcome to the forums. I should have 4 days of almost uninterrupted building time (the only advantage of being away from my family) I will be starting the Bat Pod tomorrow and hopefully the Challenger II on Friday night or Saturday.

Lewbud, Super clean build up so-far.

Love the WWT Somua, Sprue! Gamera mention he might start a GB Easter for Eggs. Might be interesting. Love the creativity.

Thank you. An Easter Egg GB sounds like great fun.

To quote the great Texas singer (and softball coach) Meatloaf "Two out of three ain't bad." The Mini is still in the garage due to the poor time management of the project foreman. However, she is still in the queue and should be done in the next couple of days. Picking up from where we last left off.

I finally completed a subassembly. You take your victories where you can.

The body is painted.

Painted body with the roof mock up.

The front end.

The rear suspension. Yes it is that minimal on the real thing.

The rear seat and roll bar installed.

Driver's seat installed.

Glass is in place, roofcap is glued on, body mocked up on chassis.

When I left for work this evening, I had just painted the engine and the subframe that supports it. I'm also going to leave the fender flares off because I broke one trying to paint it (don't ask). All that remains is finishing the engine, front suspension and a few interior bits and she'll be done. Who's next?

My hobby time is mostly spent on my model railroad but I've dabbled in some scale models.  This is my first post here.  Been lurking on the forum for a few days and decided to sign up.  Took a few minutes to figure out what's going on in this thread but it's awesome.  You guys are quick. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest!  Great work so far.  Very cool.

Sprue - So COOL!!  I wish I had a toon tank to ride when I was a kid!!  Love your out-of-box thinking for this display of the little Somua!  TBH, I was wondering what that "thing" was sticking out from the side of the base and also the screw "thingies" on top!! Bravo!! ...

...

Well, I'll be out of town starting tomorrow and will most likely be out of touch with the GB.  I'll check progress of everyone on my cellphone, but I hate typing on that little thing!!  Gotta wait until I get back to my PC next week!

Happy Thanksgiving all!!

Indeed, and thanks for the compliment. Happy Thanksgiving.

Caveman - Wow!  Impressive...I wouldn't thought a car model could be completed in 48 hrs, but you're the MAN!  I love the color of the Lightning and the interior detail!  Kudos!!

Well, build one is in the books.  With only ten min. to spare.  This one needed more work than I thought.  Sorry for the pics. but my cave is too dark and I can't get the color shifting paint to show very well.  I will try taking better pics. when the sun is up.
