Bish

I used Alclad for the base. I have never tried hairspray before. And the issue was only in patches, which makes me think it might have been somthing else.

Is that the 1/5000 SD with the lighting kit.

I just used Alclad as base coat for the speeder bike, and had no problems. So could be the hairspray? I read online at some point that the cheaper the hairspray, the better.

But, yeah, the preorder is the 1/5000 SD with the lighting kit. Yes I was hoping Bandai would make it bigger, but I'm sure it'll still be awesome.

I did go over the areas Steve but it just happened again. I have resorted to a blade, sanders and a bit of thiner. Going for some heavy chipping and weathering.

Bish, I had the same problem with paint adhearing to my kit as well. I just repainted it. I also did the chipping using an xActo knife

Steve

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Thanks, Bish! Ah, the AMT kit, forgot about that one.

Next build after speeder bike will be either Bandai's new SD (pre-ordered, but might not be available until October) or second Bandai B-Wing, which I'd like to do in one of the colorful liveries I've seen online (if anyone has some suggestions, lemmeno).

Strange that you had issues with chipping. Wonder if it was in fact the hairspray? I use tamiya for chipping all the time and works great. What paint did you use for your base coat?

Front page updated, please let me know if i am missing anything.

Cheers PB. Its an AMT kit from the 90's when they also did the STAP and Anakins Podracer.

When i applied the tamiya over the hairdspray and had issues with the paint in certain areas. It looked like the paint had a reaction to somthing and didn't adhere in some areas. So i washed it all down and went with this method. Not sure if it was the hairspray or somthing else.

Your work on the turret looks awesome, Bish. Propeller I didn't know there was an AAT kit out there (sorry if I missed background on your project, late to the party).

Did you have problems doing paint chipping with hairspray?

After several week i finally got the paint on the AAT. I ditched the hairspray and just decided to chip off the Tamiya paint with a scalpel blade and some sanding. So heres the hull.

And the turret, already started some chipping.

Should be to long before i get some more pics.

Bish

Thats a great line up there PB, some really nice build.Love the Nebulon, who's kit is that?

What are you working on at the moment, i can get it added to the roster.

Thank you, Bish! The Nebulon was 3D printed by a guy over on RPF. I paid too much and had some other issues but....now I finally have a Nebulon. Still need to finish painting and weathering it, which is a challenge (why I'm only about halfway done).

Working on the Bandai Speeder and making good progress, so put that on the roster. Thanks!

Dang, PB. That's quite a collection.  You've got a firm grasp on Star Wars-y weathering no doubt. I'm not sure about 0-0-0's story, but he looks awesome.

Nice work.  Looking forward to the speeder bike.

Thanks, Ted! Appreciate the compliments. :-) Triple zero is the murderous version of 3P0 that appears in various sources, including Marvel's Dr. Aphra comic series (which I'm reading now).

Well, here goes:

I used to be proud that I had only one project on the bench at a time but, well, that has changed over the past year or so. Now I seem to have about three or four projects going at once. Not sure what happened. Anyway, here's the SW stuff I've completed over the past few months. Thanks for looking and sorry for all the pics.

PB

Bandai B-Wing:

Banai 0-0-0:

Bandai TIE Interceptor:

Zvezda SD:

Nebulon:

Saw's Cavern Angel X-Wing (Rogue One):

And finally, currenlty working on Bandai's Speeder w/Trooper:
