WIP on my second LRDG truck. Going with a Caunter scheme on this one, using the Vallejo Caunter Scheme set; base color laid down is a light Portland Stone. Here's what I've got so far:
Cabin and seats were assembled and painted light green.
Exhaust tube & damper were also painted with a rusty mix.
ModelGuy: The Sherman looks great! I left some more comments on your post on the armour section of the forum.
Real G & Greysnake: Those look great guys! Good work!

Real, relaly nice work putting those together. I like the idea of the working bolt and detachable mag, but can see why your going to glue them.
I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so
On the bench: Airfix 1/72nd Harrier GR.3/Fujimi 1/72nd Ju 87D-3
Very nicely done Model Guy. Thanks for posting that, front page is updated.

Thats a curious one. The guys in the back ground have similar socks and the top of the socks of the guy on the bike is also the darker colour. Can't quite zoom in close enough to see whats going on there. I'm still thinking they might be the gaiters.
Gamera Bobby: She looks good! I really like the pre-shading. As to the socks I think the colour you've got them looks fine. I've only seen them in the khaki tannish shade. You could have him as a patriotic Scot though- and paint them in a tartan...

I am sure Hannants has the right shade of tartan paint for those.
Finished!
COVID-craziness, taxes, and a sick cat have been taking up my time, but I have not forgotten the GB.
I finally got around to start scraping all the ugly little seams on the PIAT launcher as well as the Enfield rifle. Being an OCD modeler does not help in this regard.
The Enfield rifle has a functioning bolt, but it is wobbly so it will be glued in place. The magazine is detachable, but that will result in scraped paint. Spare magazines are provided, so one will be be glued in, and the rest will be scatterd around to never be seen again.
Anyway, Round 3 (or was it 4?) of filler will follow. Almost there. But it's a long way to Tipperary...

Hey Stik! That's it!!! That's the pics I keep seeing. It appears to be a greenish color doesn't it? Thanks for the pic!
Thank you sir. I got that from Andy's Hobbys on YouTube. He does just about everone like that. It does do a great job of highlighting.
OMG! I should do those socks just because! LOL! That would look cool!

Mopar Madness Looks great Bobby!
Looks great Bobby!
Thank you sir. Another great Tamiya kit!
Bish Looks good with the paint on bobby. Are you sure that the area at the top of the boots is not the putties rather than socks.

Thank you sir! Please forgive my ignorance Bish...I had to look up putties. LOL! I don't think so. It is at the top of the "sock" around the knees. Kind of a rolled up portion of a really long tube sock? Here are a couple of pics that should help. The first is my figure. I can't find a standard colour for the part I'm talking about. I did find this pic...the second one I found on the internet but it shows the top part the same colour as the rest of the sock. I thought it was a different colour and that is what I'm having a time with finding. Hope this makes sense. LOL!
Like I said, I'm looking into this a bit too much considering you won't even see the feet or legs with him sitting on top, but I was curious.

On deck: Who knows!
Stellar work everyone! Really great builds!
I got a bit more done on the Grant. Painting is coming along nicely....well, I'm having trouble with the colours for the commander. I know it's funny because you won't even see his feet, but the socks...the socks worn in Africa had two or three colours to them? I know, silly since you won't even see it, but I wanted to do them proud. Anyway here are a couple of progress pics for you.
That's very true G, I'm really chuffed with the scammell kit and have ordered some extras for it. The Cromwell is a long time building so wouldn't qualify, got two so I could build them with my thirteen year old get him off the xbox. He lost interest and patience kept his effort though might lend to a diarama. Keep safe.
That looks good 1961- dang shame all that detail under her where it can't be seen.
Btw: Is the Cromwell going to be entering this too?
A little progress, base coat on included a couple of other builds with same colour while I was at it. Business as usual with work apart from social distancing only 22 of us so spaced breaks and moving workable, weather's good so modelling time is scarce. " alt="" />
Thats some very nice work there Zvezda. Theres a lot of detail for such a small kit.
Zvezda: Looks good!!!
Work started with the Morris truck. The small chassis was assembled. Some of the power shafts were provided shorter than required by ITA, so they were supplemented with a little plastic. Exhaust was also replaced by a bent plastic rod.
this thing is small...
Thanks guys! Hard line camo on tanks is a new realm to me. Three different techniques ended with the brush to clean it up.
Greysnake: Whew, glad to hear it!
Model Guy: Ohhhhhhhh, that looks good!!!
Got the roster updated guys.
Nice work there Model Guy, good job on that scheme.
Sherman Mk III finally seeing some colour. Weld beads added with tamiya epoxy putty.
Should mention too, TMD does offer some resin corrections for the Dragon Shermans. Not really necessary, boils down to a question of time vs money decision. Just do a procduct seach M4 DRA:
