Ziggy, good job on the gun.  If I may suggest for painting of gun metal, use flat black paint overall.  When dry, pass a soft graphite pencil (2B or 4B) to pick up highlights and add some sheen.

Well the Bronco kit of the Humber Scout Car is small even at 1/35 scale, but is giving huge problems.  Svenne had mentioned earlier he had trouble fitting the crew roof section to the hull.  Same thing is happening with me, and it appears to be some warpage on the bottom section. 

Somehow, I need to splay the sides out so they line up with the roof piece.  A test fit of the door located on the left hand side of the hull confirms this, note the gap:

Bronco also did not correctly copy the construction detail of where the top and bottom sides meet.  They have them joined into a flush angle, while actual vehicle had the top sitting stepped inward:

So to help correct that, I've added strips of white plastic to form a lip along the bottom edges of on the roof piece.  These will act as guide so the top sits stepped sligtly inwards of the hull slabs:

I think I'm finally happy with the gun for my D.H. 2!  I would like to see if everyone likes the paint, maybe to dark?

I have not had any bench time over the past few weeks, but I was able to savagely sand away at the PIAT and Enfield rifle.

I got most of the seams using stretched sprue from the kit, but lots of little areas do not align left to right.  So it's on with the putty!  The boys are coming over this weekend, so I see a sanding session coming up.  Still, with no canopy to mask, wheel wells to detail, or indie track links to clean and assemble, this should be straightforward.

Yeah had this happen before and was able to sort in edit, but this time after pasting my text the picture posts vanished. I was delighted with Gamera for putting it in a quote. I'm using a Huawei phone as our lap top has multiple users so this is quick and easy apart from some wierd moments. 

 

Now there might be your problem. Huawei phone, American website, know what i mean

That's weird. I was able to see Est. 1961's photos just fine. I was even able to click on them to expand them in another window. 

I have used BNA a few times through there e-bay site, never had any issues, stuff gets here in good time.

I can't see your pics in your post Est., but i can in Gamera's, bit odd. Looking good.

Sorry about that glitch I can't see my photos before I press submit or edit without losing first part of initial post. However this should work it out. Chassis ready for priming and painting using Vallejo paints. I'm liking this model and how it fits together so much that I've forked out on some AM resicast from BNA Model world in Australia, block and tackle with some tools. Not used this company before.

Thanks guys. It's not a bad kit detail wise. It's just the fit is a little wonky. I wouldn't recommend it to someone as their first tank kit but with some experience you shouldn't have too much of a problem. 

Both guns look great, good looking detail that gets hidden away especially on the tank, imagine you'll be able to remove it and show interested viewers though.

Is that the Accurate Armour Jackel. I was thinking about getting one of those before Hobby Boss announced they were doing it in plastic. When they finally come out i intended getting the Jackel 1 and Coyote.

 

 

I have Airfix's 1/48 Jackal, I agree there's always a possibility of more modern heavy armoured vehicles if manufacturers can see that the demand is there from modellers. 

 

O ye, i forgot about that kit. Seen it bilt up a couple of times, looks a nice kit. There is certainly demand for it in the UK i think, just not sure if there is enough interest from beyond that.

I've been moving slowly but I got some work done on the Comet. This is one of Bronco's early models and it shows it. The air intakes on the engine deck just wouldn't fit anyway I tried to attach them. Eventually I had to pull an old Tamiya Cromwell out of storage and look at it for an idea on how to attach them. After a few cuts they fit okay. I don't know if it's the kit's engineering or I messed something up. 

Btw: Some of the grab handles are bent and crooked. I had the PE parts so I decided to go ahead and replace the badly molded kit parts. I didn't get them all straight though, I'm going to go back and try to fix some of this before paint. Not much point now when I keep putting my fingers on stuff. 

The periscopes were badly molded so I went ahead and replaced them with the PE parts. They actually went together without any major issues. I'm much happier with them than the grab handles. 

When I pulled the kit out I had done a good bit of work on the 77mm gun. I cleaned up some boo-boos and assembled the turret. Not much will be visable though the hatches with figures in there but it's still a nice detail.

The Land rover is reminding me of the news back then, I like the look of the Foxhound would that be the modern equivalent, I have the jackel but don't think they do a modern foxhound.

Ye, the Foxhound is the replacment for the Snatch and there is not a kit of it, same for the Mastiff, Ridgback and a couple of others. But there are nice kits of the Husky and ATV Quad. And is someone can do an FV 432 in plastic, then anything is possable.

Finally getting some work done on my entry.  It's a re-box of Tamiya's LRDG truck, this time including an ex-Italeri Breda 20mm gun.  If you're going to attempt this model, be warned: the Italeri instructions are shite!  The illustratins are wildly inaccurate, and the box art photos of the completed gun don't even match it.  My advice is to get as many pictures of the real thing as you can, and build to that.  Anyway, here's the gun so far:

That's a neat idea to use cloth material for the wicker seat.  Wonder if brushing on some clear acrylic (Future/Pledge) before cutting to address the fraying?   Should be still pliable when dry.
