Hi Mike, Well the Group Build officialy ends on Jan 31st , so you will have only 3 weeks to finish your Skyraider. If that's ok with you, let me know and I'll add your info to the roster page.

Happy Modeling

That's a fine looking F4F SteveCB. I'll update the roster.  I can't understand why I still do not have a F4F n my colllection. I have always loved the look of the Wildcat, especially from the front , with those center mouted wings!

Here's my last entry for the build, a Tamiya F4F-4 Wildcat.  It was a good build.

I managed to push this past the line last week, but the forum has been giving me fits everytime I try posting.  Here goes another shot:

Wish I had pennants for the flag poles...but that would just make more delays.  Time to let it be.

Thanks for helping me git r done!

Surface_Line

Looks like my initial joining post back on Aug 25 didn't get logged, but that's OK.  Shout to the world that one, count 'em one, bird from the Shelf of Doom has been finished.

And experimenting with my son's light box, I now appreciate how merciless digital photography is on a 1/72 model.

This is the Revell old-tool Fokker Dr.I, with Superscale decals, for Ltn Rahn's Jasta 19 aircraft.

Please accept my apologies Surface_Line! I have added you and you great looking Fokker Dr.I to the roster. I think the photography is great BTW!

As I go over this, I am being reminded of another reason why it ended up on the shelf.  All the fiddly and delicate bits!

Example, i forgot the tie rod has been broked and reglued in 5 different spots in the past...obviously no longer road worthy!  The right side rotor was also hanging on by a cracked  piece of the axle, so I reglued and reinforced both sides with pieces of paperclip attached to the fenders. This shuuld make it more shelf stable once the tires are installed.

Otherwise I installed the jigsaw puzzle known as the engine hood and radiators and some other bits that won't get snapped off while handling.  I can verify the panels are square, it is the camera angle that makes it appear crooked.  The roof is not installed yet, hence why that is also crooked, it is just there for demo purposes.

Next up, paint touch up, wheels, decals, the fiddly bits, probably more paint touch up, sealer, and a sturdy base!

I think the worst items on the Monogram B-17G are the wait gun windows.

Firstly, the posts that allow the guns to move are to frail and never fail to break off.

Secondly, the windows themselves do not install flush with the fuselage skin, but sit akwardly recessed in the oversized opening in the fuselage. 1st problem is no biggy, just glue the guns in a fixed position.  For the 2nd problem, it's Apoxie Sculpt to the rescue!

Hi All, The GB End Date has been extended to 1/31/2024 as the holidays can be very busy. This gives us and extra month to wrap things up after the holiday activies die down.

Greetings!  I would like to throw my hat in with this dusty shelf sitter, a 1:35 ICM G4 Mercedes.

My goal has been to build it as General Burkhalter's staff car in Hogan's Heroes, rather than as that German leader's car or a plain Heer vehicle:

I have had it sitting for for at least 4 years, give or take due to a variety of delays; a part I lost that ICM sent me the whole sprue to replace (at no cost I might add), higher priority projects, searching for decals, searching for suitable figures to represent Hogan, Klink, Schultz, and/or Burkhalter.

Time to just get it done, macht schnell!

Thank you Cbaltrin!

I have started at least a dozen model projects in the last 40 years, but the last one completed was a Monogram 1959 Corvette and that was in 1982!

So, I am close on this one and here is my progress...

Well that's where I'm at, I may modify the nose gear, it looks too tall, should look more like this...

Ziggy

I started this model two years ago in the 40 year anniversary of the Falkland Islands War Group Build, I hope I can finally finish it here or should I say Git-R-Done
