Sounds complicated. What kind of switch? On/off or some sort of special effects switch?

Project510

Excited to see this rocket finished.

I must have tested this thing 50 times along the way to make sure it was operating perfectly before permanantly attaching switch. Get it assembled.. Doesnt work. Switch failed or is malfuctioning internally. Kind of annoying. Ill need to get a new switch.

The LEDs themselves flicker on their own. The switch is just a simple push button on/off. I do have a light sensor switch, but that would drain the battery to fast because as soon as it got dark it would be on. I was fidgeting with it last night again, pretty sure its a loose wire. If I wiggle it just right it works haha. I should just replace it. I will just replace it.

Progress on the Italeri A-10. Attached the wings, tail wing and engines. Just a few more seams to address and then it's off to the paint bench.

The Blue Nose Mustang is just about completed.

OK. In the stash: Way too much to build in one lifetime...

I rescued this from the Shelf of Doom this morning where it had been living for the last few years. I have finally decided what I want to do with the build - a "What-If". The model is going to be finished with Ukraine Air Force markings per a rumor I've heard. More to come.

Looks good. Nice job.  Make sure to use mr color leveling thinner for airbrushing.

Totally did! Love the stuff. Its probably my technique. Just need to keep building. Also, feel free to use this photo for your finished list!

Im calling this Fujimi CRX done before I screw anything else up trying to get stuff to fit.

Likes: Love my color choise. The Mr Color doesnt spray easily through my Eclipse but that could be y lack of experience but its a great looking color. Ive always been a fan of the blue with white CTR wheels.

Regrets: Not lowering the car. The out of the box stance is way inaccurate.

All in all another kit ive had for 15+ years jsut sitting in a box. Learned a lot about painting, prep and patience. This pic was taken not 20 seconds before my grabbed it and ran to his room to put it on his shelf.

ahhh, that's too bad Frank.  Your masking of the blue nose sure looks great. Nice work.

Had a "Decal Accident" the other day. I had masked an area that needed touch up using Post-It notes. My thinking was that the Post-It notes adhesive is not very aggressive so the decal should be OK under the X-22 gloss coat. Oops! The Post-It note adhesive pulled most of the decal off inspite of the X-22 gloss coat. So, I had to order another set of decals to get the nose art to finish the model. The decals arrived yesterday so now I can fix the nose art.

Looks like they were printed at an angle. don't know why one would need to do that for wheels. They do look nice though!

Thanks!

So I have these 3D printed wheels.. They look nice, painted them with Alclad II Polished Aluminum over their black base. Came out nice, but I did not see these layers that showed up until it was painted. I stil like them on the truck.

Finally. Im pretty sure this is the one. I think its more realistic. Still have the heavy rust spots to add. Im super happy with this.

Also trying to figure out the wheel situation..

Thanks Brandon! Unfortunately, I couldnt just leave it alone haha. I wasnt super satisfied. Gave Youtube and Google a search for alternative ways to find the look I was going for. What a rabbit hole that was... I do think I found a way to get it done once and for all. So that was started yesterday.

First, was to sand off as much of the teal as I could. Then paint it all a rust ish brown. I added some orange and red to the brown I had on hand. works for me.

Then I tried to look for a factory color from 64 and I settled on Dark Blue (63 was Balboa Blue) and this was the closest I could get without purchasing paint.

Plan is to wet sand with 1500 grit lightly until the rust color shows through. Once thats done Ill attempt soem form of dry brushing or dry dabbing with  sponge some rust paint on top. load it up in the cracks and crevices etc.

Looks great Cary! I wish I would have saved some of the old Dragon kits I had. Seeing the Tanks in this GB make me want to give it a try.

Had a little fun this weekend. I decided to play around with the paint on the Chevy. Typically, if one wanted to do a patina look its best to start from the beginning but since this truck has been sitting in a box for 10-15 years I figured I would use it as an excuse to practice. This here looks more like a truck I would drive, more so than one with perfect paint anyways haha.

And I felt like I needed to start over on the CRX...

Hey, just so you know, I can't see any of your photos. I don't know if that's an issue on my end or an issue with your links. Just thought I'd let you know.

I can see the pictures fine ?

Hey Cary, thanks for the compliment. To answer your question, USNTPS stands for US Navy Test Pilot School. If you Google TH-6B you'll get to see some other photos of the Navy's Th-6s. Googleing (Google-ing? Googling?) USNTPS will give you some great photos of the school's other airframes.
