Welcome Gregob! Happy to have you. Just tell me which kits(s) you plan on working and I'll get you added to the roster.

gregoblv

I have too many projects on my table and would not mind some help/support to get them finished so I would like to join you all in this GB.

This rocket I swear....

New switched worked perfectly, until the battery started getting super hot and melting the inside of the rocket. Thankfully I had it wrapped in foam to keep it from moving around. Maybe I wired it incorrectly? But why would function properly. I dont know. Ill figure it out eventually.

Sounds like the battery got shorted out. Might want to check your wiring.

Yea had a wire or two mixed up. Not sure what I was thinking.. Its all corrected now. Switch added, wires soldered and its working good. The Jets dont look very realistic, but the boy loves it so thats all that matters.

When I bought this kit, I bought it from a seller on Ebay and the base arrived broken so they sent me a complete 2nd kit. Now that I know what to expect Ill hold onto it and maybe we build it together once hes older to a more historically accurate spec. I added the decals last night, and it jsut got its first coat of clear so once its dry ill attach the polyfil covered cones (smoke) permanently and be done. Hopefully tomorrow I add a third completed kit to this GB!

Looks great SteveCB!

Which picture do you want to use on the Wall? Or , do you want to provide another picture -- these ones are a bit dark/underexposed.

I finished my Hasegawa A-7A.  I started as a 48 hour build, but that didn't work out.

Looks great James. It's going to be really cool when done I am sure!

Thanks! Of course once I got everythng together the switch decided to stop working again. pulled it all apart to discover the issue. When I soldered the wires i melted the switch. New one should be here in a few days.

Interesting use of AI.  What was your prompt?

I cant remember the specific one for each image but I used several
  • scale model builder messy desk
  • 1/24 scale modeler desk covered in projects
  • messy 1/24 scale model car builders desk

Some version of those three. This was using the free version of Canva. I was headed to ChatGPT and MidJourney. I just joined the Blue Willow discord thought to try another AI option.  Ill psot those soon

Have had so much going on I got back into a non-build mode and weeks flew by.

Really need to get this rocket finished and for whatever reason the switch is working perfectly again. Soooo its permanently attached save for the very tip. Decals will go on tonight or tomorrow and I just need to paint and attach smoke cones.

The truck is almost done Im just trying to work out a good way to attach rear wheels.

Verify interesting idea!  I was thinking of a cartoon of a modeler at his bench frantically assebling a mountain of 1/2 built kits.   Can your AI enging come up with something like that?

Its just a free AI thing I found in Google so its not super intuitive but its interesting.

So im stuck in this 3 hour meeting at work and I am only presenting for like 20 minutes and super bored. I used an AI image generator to try and come up with a Gb photo for us. Its not super impressive but a decent start I guess? Maybe someone can photo shop something different into them?

Nice first attempt at wiring up an egine James. I also tried this for the first time recently. It's definitely not as easy as it looks. I did use some PE wire looms which helped the look greatly.

Project510

Took some time off work and went on vacation. Took the wife and son to Hawaii for her Birthday/Mothers Day. Was nice, but Im glad to be home.

Have not worked on anything besdies my first attempt at adding a wired distributor. I could have drilled holes to make it more realistic but I think this was good practice for now. It at least gives a bit of detail. I still need to figure out if I shuld move the wires or leave them as is.

Although this is about completing a kit I won't be getting this one done this year. I still have to build the Tiger that goes with it and build the base they will set on. SO, I have it fully painted and assembled, but no weathering. I'll do that once the base is underway. This is as much as I had hoped to get done on this one this year. So for the sake of this GB I'll calling my progess as done as it will get for some time. Great idea for this GB and I enjoy watching everyone else find that lost motivation to get it done.

Nice progress Frank. And pls stop teasing me with the blue nose mustang talk. i love me a blue nosed mustang (probably said that before). What do we want ? blue nosed mustangs! When do we want them? Right Now! Wink

fotofrank

Progress on the Italeri A-10. Attached the wings, tail wing and engines. Just a few more seams to address and then it's off to the paint bench.

The Blue Nose Mustang is just about completed.

Soooo I dont think I mentioned this before but as Ive been building this truck I noticed I was missing a lot of parts. Being that the last time I opened this box was probably somewhere around 2014 who knows what I was doing.. Well I opened every kit I had that was opened and wouldnt you know it, I found the parts in yet another started and unfinished kit LOL. Also I apparently hacked up the suspension trying to lower it. So now I need to fix that so I can attach the wheels.

But I have made some nice progress on interior and engine.
