Man, that's some fast builds you pulled of! They look good your Nascar's, it's been ages since I last built me one of thoose. Keep the good work coming, like Joel, I can hardly wait 'til I see the 'vette. I see my tip on photographing paid of, you got sharper images now. If you just cut away the unnecessary parts around the actual object it'll draw more attention. At the moment my project has gone like this Zzz [zzz] but I'll get back on track.

Yes I do have a life and a wife and four kids a sister a brother-in-law and three dogs and a cat,and at this time I do spent alot of time in PT. So I dont spend a whole lot of time on FSM. I do spend a lot of time building when I am not worn out from PT.

Nice build-up RC. Is that the Monogram kit from last year or did you find aftermarket decals for her? I'm like the rest of the folks; you are FAST! I can't get the parts off of the trees that quick LOL.

Sorry no aftermarket parts for this one. I have had this kit the Revell-monogram on the shelf now for 8 years. I bought it in 1996. I have been real busy with other things for the past 15 years so I have not been able to build anything. This one took me 13 days to build right out of the box. Damn I am Glad that you guys like my work. the Daytona Triumph should be done by the end of next week depending on how PT goes for me this week.

By the way how does all like the work under the hood on this one with the black insulation work.

I have a hard time with only a wife and two kids, you have all my respect Bow [bow] I'll try to catch up with you, but I think that's like Mission Impossible III.

Cheers!

Proosen that is nothing what is Mission Imposible is that I have to go to PT (physical theropy) 3 times a week. that is what makes everything so f@#^*&g hard to build. That is why my #2 build was 4 days late. But thak you for the respect, but I do not think I deserve it.

Good work, guys!

I'm going to try and upload a pics here for the first time. Resized it a bit, for ease of use. Hope it works... Just to show there is something going on Wink [;)] One of the interior and one from side. Still lots of work to be done...

Yeah, I know I screwed up with the glue a bit (above), but at least it won't be visible!

Oops... it seems my pic posting did not help much... Looked fine at office, I see nothing now that I'm signing on from home this morning. Maybe something to do with me being signed on to the place hosting the pics?

Where do you guys host your pics? Or did I just screw up?

Luke, I'll have a look back there right now, thanks!

Not my day... I now see that the place I used to host photo's now does not allow direct linking any more! That is why nothing is visible.

Photobucket does not want me to sign up today... Any other options?

Now off to mask that body.... I hope this turns out better than my pics!!

The photo hosting site I use is down right now too, so you get all red X's from me for a while until they get the problem fixed.

Nnnnnoooooooooo!!!!

I should have stayed in bed. Did the masking - my own, not the supplied masking pattern. Still have no idea how it went... because I just put on my second coat, came back to balance it on the same thing it balanced for the first coat. It cannot stand on it's own, because of this lip in the front which also needs to be yellow - just to defend my actions. Anyways, back my tale of misery... From there it took an absurdly quick nose-dive - I could do nothing but stare.

There is good luck in this day as well. It did not fall all the way down onto the carpet and rolled around on it's newly applied wet paint. It did not travel far at all and landed with the nose in a small Tupperware holder. My sigh of relief and my "Ahhhh ffffff... rangelica!" went out in in the same breath. This is the holder I allways do my decals in and as per usual, it had some water in!

Has anyone done such an incredible stupid thing?

Btw, how much damage can I expect from the water on the nose paint-job? (Hey, this is me, it cannot happen to a not-so-obvious place!) It seemed to just stay on top of the paint... or is that just temporary? Should I remain hopefull till tomorrow morning?

Hey Seabee its never too late to pray!!

I know exactly how you feel I have had a newly painted and still glistening wet body gently roll onto the floor. I'm sure the whole neighbourhood heard how thrilled I was at that turn of events!!

Yesterday I was polishing a body shell and went through the black paint to the white plastic beneath on a panel line. Its only very small but the colour contrast shows it up instantly so a repaint is now planned. Also yesterday I went to get some matt black from my LHS to find they didn't have any!!!

However overnight NZ beat the Aussies in the basketball, beat the West Indies in the cricket, beat the Pacific Islands in rugby and Raikonan's on pole so its not all bad!!

OH NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Trouble in turn 2 lets goto team radio to hear what the problem is:

(Dale Earnhardt) She is loose...... She is loose......... She is loose........
Boys I think we are done for the day.
(Crew Cheif) What the Hell are you talking about..... You have come back from spins
worse than that.
(Dale Earnhardt) I heard a loud pop in the rear end. I think that the Track Bar is broke.
So like I said "WE ARE DONE"
(Crew Cheif) Bring it in and we will look at it. It can't be that bad.

Does this sound like something that has happened to you. As I worked my way through this kit (#3 build on my list) the rear end track bar was broken in the kit. Now I am going to have to try and fix it or suffer with the rear end not being true ant straight. With this hurdle to cross my build time is now way behind. I hope to have the problem fixed one way or another and have prog pix up by mid week.

Mkhoot - Thanks for those pics. The car is looking great.

Seabee - Leave it aside for a couple of days and then review the damages. I don't hink you'll suffer from anything that some sanding can't fix Wink [;)] Sorry to hear about it though.

Finally got my hand on another can of TS-17 and shoot a couple of layers on my Mercedes and it looks much better now, sorry, no pics at the moment. The wife and kids has the camera 250 kliometers from me, be patience and I'll get some progress photos later. I will have like 5 evenings of modeling without disturbance from others Big Smile [:D] so I've been busy today. Kimi came in second at Silverstone Yeah!! [yeah], I was able to put some paint on the Enzo and the CLK-GTR. I think I'll have something to eat now and then try to finish my Pennzoil Skyline to night.

Cheers!

Hey RC,

It may not be that bad, after all. My driver prefers his track bars unhooked. You'll be ok to hook up the suspension without it; it shouldn't be too noticeable.

Well, doggone, it worked! I guess I should explain that last picture....

It's for my Matador; I'm stuck right now and I hope this group build will help me get if finished.

I took the AMT Matador kit, cut the front clip and rear wheelwell on back from the chassis, and grafted on a front clip and rear wheelwell/trunk floor from an AMT '95 T-bird kit.

I made a new driveshaft tunnel with the remains of an old Coke can.

Then I took the '91 Monogram Pontiac Grand Prix roll cage; cut off the crush panels, and glued it in to place (it fit really well both on the chassis and under the roofline of the body). I also salvaged the dashpanel of the Grand Prix kit (all of the black pieces you see), connected it with a scratchbuilt dashboard, and then made new crushpanels.

Not pictured is the racing seat, which is from the AMT t'bird kit. I cut off the headrest and will add one onto the back hoop, like you see on the old Monogram kits.

Whew, and you wondered why I was stuck; I don't know what to do next
