That's a sweet car, race vettes are really cool and you made this one justice. I have some pics of a split window that used to race here in Sweden. Thought I'd build it sometime. I have no scanner at the moment so I can't share it with you guys.

Nice Vette!!

Sorry, no significant updates on my build, yet. Not sure when I'll get back to the bench. I broke my leg yesterday, and it looks like surgery is scheduled for tomorrow!! My bench is in the basement, so going down the steps is gonna be a bit of a challenge!!

Ouch!
Sorry to hear about your missfortune, eventually your modeling nerve will get you down those stairs no matter what. If you get the same itch as I get it'll rather be sooner than later.

Get well soon.

& like others said, you'll be down those stairs like a shot!
where there's a will, there's a way!

mississippivol - well done on the car - look forward to the pics.

Scale Auto has been very quiet - they were quick out of the blocks but stalled a couple of weeks ago!

Hi guys
Thaught I'd better get you updated on my progress, wich is rather slow at the moment. I'm still filling, sanding, priming, filling, sanding, priming the body shell and working on the side gravel shields. I've glued them on the body but I'm awaiting an order from Japan including some fine Milliput to do build the rest.
My Renaissance decal set included a new dash and rear wing wich I'm also doing some work to. The dash needs some filling and drilling to make it easier to touch up the switches and buttons. Seems rather nice anyhow. The Rear wing looks fine except the areas to be connected to the rear window. They are totally uneven and I'm thinking of adding some epoxy putty and lightly press it into place, then remove it, let dry and sand and fill the new seams. Could work pretty well.
Painted the wheels during the week end but I'll have to redo them as I got some dots of paint from the air brush.

So good to hear that you are doing well. I am sorry to hear about it but I have been away from the fourms for about a week now. Progress on my builds have come to a complete stop right now for I was working on the next two builds on my list and I got some bad paint that melted the body work on both. Disapprove [V] For they are both the same car with different decals. So I am going to have to go tomarrow to Hobby Lobby and hit them up on the half price sale and start all over again with these two builds. Smile [:)]Smile [:)]

I'm getting jealous, everyone is progressing along well. The finshed builds from everyone look greatBig Smile [:D]. Problem is I'm getting know where, tried to spray my FW07 body shell 3 times and it just hasen't been working?Banged Head [banghead] It's too bluddy cold at the moment. Were lukiey if it reaches 15 during the day hear. As I spray outside in a shed mostly at night .it is too cold.

Still alive here! Had a change of work and been at the new work for two weeks now.
Having been used to a 5 minute drive to work, I am now "robbed" of almost 2 hours of free time daily, travelling to another town!

All of which is not good for progress... Anyways, I have basically finished building on Tuesday. Now decalling - after having calmed down.

Let me explain. The biggest "feature" of the Astra model is the "gull-wing" doors. Having done that and settled the body Tuesday morning, I left for work. Only to find one door completely ripped off and one semi-detached upon return! (It was the cleaning lady's day in...) With the body allready on the chassis there is practically no way to redo the whole thing.

So now I'll have to make do with one fixed, but not very well, door and one which opens by means of removal. Makes seeing the inside a bit easier! (Hey, it was just an accident and you've got to see the brighter side of things!)

Anyways, might complete the decalling this weekend. Will post a pic or two. Must say, thusfar I'm really impressed with that decal sheet Tamiya provided.

So where do you live Trev? I have a similar problem but we're lucky to reach 12 degrees at present and I'm away 3 nights a week so I have to fight thru curtains of cobwebs on the occassional weekend day I can escape to "my" room! I have a GT40 that only needs the wheels and decalling to complete but its been like that for about 4 weeks now - maybe this weekend??

nicholma,

I live in melbourne, the weather was nice over the weekend. managed to get the body shell of the nissian sprayed. turned out alright. the shell of the williams is giving me plenty of greive. tried again but stillnot happy with the result. Have came to the conclusion the trying spray hite is near on impossiable. well hopefully get some of the decals on the nissian tonight and it will be closer to completion.

Hi guys!
Just packed up some modeling stuff and heading for the summer house tomorrow on vacation for three weeks Cool [8D] Will try to work on the DTM Mercedes there, still haven't decided what to do with the GTR Mercedes yet. I think it needs stripping and repainting, I'll let it rest for a while and then we'll see what to do.
I packed some other things to play with as well, RC-buggy, RC-sail boat, paint and stuff to finish a RC-power boat, my AMT 1960 Ford Starliner that needs paint on the roof and some bare metal foil to finish of the body work, a Ducati 916, at least the body panels to finish the paint work on. So I think I will manage to survive the trip away from the work bench Big Smile [:D]

Have a nice summer!

Wow things are really starting to pick up! Lots of excellent cars.

Slow progress here unfortunately. We're decorating a bedroom, which means all that room's contents are now in the hobby room. Combined the very warm weather recently, it's not a pleasant place to work in at the moment Disapprove [V]

However, on the upside, I just bought a new Canon digital camera, so I should be able to post better pics once I get started again on the Lancia!

bah...bent the needle on my airbrush this morning....of coarse it's a pretty unusual brand and seems to take some time to get spare parts....
Now that I'm sick and home from work and all Cool [8D]

We'll se how it all ends.

Good to see that everyone else is a bit 'slow' too (except for Glenn!! nice work on the dalmation car!!)... About the only progress I can give you on my C5-R Corvette is below:

Murray

Not sure if I posted this pic before, but I'm re-doing some of the little cannisters and stuff on the frame with scratch aluminum and brass. Easy changes that hopefully will look much better on the end product.

Also removing the molded in seatbelts. Hard to tell in this pic, but the belts on the left side of the pic have been removed. What a pain? Anyone have any good tips for how to sand/cut in a spot like this??

Hi guys... Better late than never. At last submitting pics. Not my best model thusfar, but then again my wife says I'm too perfectionistic. Not very happy, but having started this, I have to share it...

3 shots: front, rear and side...

At least it wasn't the worst thing to decal - and I had fun doing the model. Just screwed up too much...

And today I found a nice dutch company that'll send me two new needles pronto. Sometimes you're in luck. But I'm not sick anymore though...

Restarted the gravelshields yesterday as the milliput arrived, could be crap but worth a try atleast. Drilled holes in the body for attaching rivets and touched up some parts that got a crappy paintjob with the defect airbrush needle.
Seems a bit slow to get done til december...will not rush this build though...

Thanks nicholma, but there's a few small mistakes, nothing major. And the fact that my one door was broken off (for my, not by me...) really frustrated me more than anything else. I was quite chuffed with it up till then.

But really, can recommend this model to anyone! It is a great one to build. And if you're a little worried about the white and yellow painting, get the all-orange one! Not that it was that hard a bit of masking...

Anyways, now off to enjoy my long weekend! Hopefully I'll be getting a bit of a move on with the Max Honda and think about what car will be "victimised" next... Decisions, decisions! Wink [;)]

SeaBee, I think the model looks great too. What ever the small mistakes are must be too small to see. Good Job!!!

Awesome Opel, SeaBee! Don't be so hard on yourself. You've about convinced me to try building one. It'd be a nice contrast to the Nascar stockers I have.
