Very nice Skarpotchi. looks like all you need are the decals and some touch-up detailing.

I like the Victor Cj95. Looks pretty big even for 1/700. What kit is that? I know what you mean about "not many pieces". My 1/400 kilo had a big 8

Theres no rush Tankie, theres still 2 months and a handful of days to go.

***A NOTE FOR EVERYONE***
Yall have done some really incredible work here. Every time I go through here and look at the pics that have been posted I realize that I am truly working with some great modelers here and it makes me proud to say Well Done to everybody.

Starting Oct 1st, we'll start wrapping this up so that everybody can be finished by the end date, in other words, the roster will be frozen on the 1st and no new kits or members will be allowed.

Everybody who is participating in this is welcome to join my next GB, the Bonehead GB which is dedicated to the greatest supersonic bomber of all time, the B-1B Lancer.

Keep up the good work guys.

Hi,
My Lightning is on the way, at long last. All the parts are off the sprue, and the conversion work to F2A standard is almost done, apart from ading the gun troughs. Then I can get the glue out and move it along.
Cheers
Tony

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

Making Progress.......

Constructionon my Victor III SSN is mostly complete.
(Not a whole lot of parts on a 1/700 sub)
Some sanding and putty and it'll be off to the paint shop.

(note Q-tip for scale)

I'm probably not going to attach the various periscope and anntenae gear in preferance towards showing it in a stored 'underwater condition.

Note the Experimental Tandem contra-rotating 4-bladed screws that was a feature on Early VICTORs.
(Later hulls had this replaced by a conventional single 7-blade screw

Great F101's. Loved to watch the Canadian Voodoos doing their thing at the Paine Field Air Show years ago!

Okay, here's the pics. Now remember these birds are alittle ways off from being finished. You might notice a few loose ends and spots that need touching up. Anyways, here they are, enjoy.

Both the F-101's have the base coats on, just need to mask off where the stripes go and the lightining bolt on the tail. After that it decal time. If the sun is out today I think I'll post some pics.

My only update is that the build of USS Oregon took so bloody long (Glencoe! Freakin' Glencoe!) that I'm quite glad the group build got extended to the end of the year. I might just get it done...

I expect to start the Ticonderoga in October. Less than 200 parts...Hopefully I can get it done by the end of the year. In fact, I'm hoping I can get it done by the original 9 November deadline, and then maybe finish my Minsk carrier for the Russian GB before the year ends.

Basecoat is on. I used Model Master Acryl Russian Armor green, lightened with Tamiya Buff. The missle is Light Gray. I'll get some pics up this week when final assembly is completed.

Too Late to join?

If not I'd like to jump on the 1/700 bandwagon with a VICTOR III SSN and also an OSCAR SSGN.

I have a few other 1/700 kits laying around also so I may add as I go along. Big Smile [:D]

Let me know.

Good news! I have made signficant progress on my build! Most of the decals are on, i just have to fix a little bit of silvering with future, and then flat coat the whole thing.

Thanks guys. I finished all the little subassemblies, put the wheels and the cab together. Everything is ready for paint. I'll have some more pics up after the weekend, when I should have a basecoat on everything.

Got a good chunk of time last night to work on the trailer. The PE just killed me, it's simple, but with no way to solder it, it was a pain in the @$$ to glue. And you can barely see it. Anyways, some basic work left before it's off to the paint booth:

Just checking in. I'm still working on mine but progress will be slow for the next month while I finish two other GBs. So far I'm dealing with the wing assemblies and getting the engine pods attached and cleaned up.

Hmm, thought this one had died. I'm still working pretty steady, but, I have managed to nearly get the MiG done. I'll post some pics as soon as I get there.

Great work comrades!Cool [8D] Just checking in. Sorry I don't have any pics posted! I do have the camera but no way right now of getting them to my photobucket!Disapprove [V] I'll have to say that the hull on Italeri's ADM KUZNETSOV needs a bit of work. The moldings, particularly on the fantail, were off a bit & I got some sinkhole work to do. The island is mainly together, good thing for Evergreen strips! Quite a few gaps on that. I will be ordering some additional a/c this week to supplement the Su-27K's & Mig29N's. Those were the only birds to come in the kit. It has been fun so far. As this has been the first ship kit that I have built since Revell's 1/500(?) Coral Sea!!Tongue [:P]

The truck has everything that it can have on it, and I've yet to start the firewall, before I can move to painting. There are a lot of pieces that will have to be painted off the model and attached afterwards. The missle is complete, and I have just started work on the trailer.
I've ordered this figure set:

It comes with the above figures as well as additional ones, so I'll chose two or three in 'relaxed' poses, just to give a sense of scale of the beast.

QUOTE: Anyone know of any modern figures that I could use with this kit?

zokissima---------->The first kit would work great and the second one would work if you wanted some regular old infantry running around.

As for myself I finally got the 1st F-101 painted with the base coat of aircraft gray and will start masking off the nose and tail for the black and metal colors. Pics soon to come...

NOTE ----> this kit is of the modern rocket crew....By ICM as well.
