                        Great work everyone. The 101's look awesome so far Skarpotchi. Keep it going Thumbs Up [tup]

                        Got the basic framework done on the Goer launcher for my nike missle. Having lots of problems with alignment in all dimensions and directions but its a fun scratchbuild so far. It's got a long way to go and alot of stuff to be added. The wheels roll. the launcher raises and lowers. The "trailer" pivots and detaches.

                        OK. I managed to stop by the USAF Museum in Dayton a few days ago and their Voodoo had the space for the hole but it was filled with sheet aluminum (dunno if that was typical or not.) But your explanation makes some sense... I know that T-tailed aircraft in general can run into airflow problems if they stall at the wrong AoA so maybe that's it. At this stage of my modelling ability, seeing that someone much more talented than myself is leaving it be is about all the answer I need.

                        Well I spent too much time adding the avainics package in the nose, but it's done. Now I can move on to the details, masking, and painting.

                        I used FS34151 Interior Green for all the cockpit stations. Just about all the paint brands have it in their lineup, except of course Revell AG. Hope this helps.

                        On a related matter, I just picked up a great book on the B-36 called "Magnesium Overcast". 300 pages and 550 pics! Just what I needed for this build.Cool [8D]

                        Roadkill.....that's not bad. I also had problems when doing foil, but ther more I did it, the more I understood what to do and not to do - try an f-94 for some real funky compound curves that foil does not want to conform to. Just keep at it. Maybe try a different glue - lize gold leaf size or spray mount.

                        I've slowed down on my F-4 while I am waiting for some milliput. Putty just ain't going to cut it on this project. I started my Mig-21. Someone was kind enough to give me an Eduard zoom set for the academy 21, but I am making it fit to the revell kit. Man, it looks great in comparrison to the revell pit. I'll post pic's of it in the next day or so.
                        3d modelling is an option a true mental excercise in frusrtation

                        If it's what I'm thinking it is, it's on the real thing also, although the purpose for it escapes me. Yardbird78 would probably know what it's for, so maybe he'll see this and respond.

                        Nice work roadkill. Better than I could do with foil.

                        But I do have a few criticisms if you don't mind. The foil looks a bit scruffy in places, like the edge of the tailfins and wings. Also, it is possible to see where you burnished it as there are marks.

                        Other than that like I said before, nice looking build.

                        Thanks guys. The pictures hide a lot of the flaws. My wife says I am too critical of my own work, but I know what and were to look for the flaws.

                        well it still has the realist metal finish I've seen. I know how you feel about BMF paints. Both of my tries at it left me feeling unsatified to say the least. But I found out what I did wrong with the Alclad2, and will try it again some day. Back to you....Like I said your finish does look very realistic and I think it looks good.

                        Nice work on the MiG foiling Roadkill. Sorry about the wrinkles. I don't notice any from the pics. All the NM MiG's from that era never looked "mirror-like" anyway.

                        I'm not too satisfied with the foiling as I wound up with wrinkles in spite of going slow and using small pieces of foil. Next BMF will be getting done using paint, in spite of the fact that my last few attempts at that ended in disaster. Don't nobody tell me how good alclad is because I want to use it, I just don't own an airbrush at the moment.

                        Update: I am nearly finished with foiling the MiG. All I need to do is finish the U/C doors and then do the canopy. Then its decal time. Next up will be the F-106.

                        Please post what is finished so that I don't have to go through everything looking for whats been finished and possibly missing anything. Thanks!!

                        Thats a good looking Typhoon Comrade. My MiG is making progress and I should finish with the foiling by Monday. I'm not too thrilled with the way it's looking and in the future I may just use paint. I'll post some pics of it tomorrow. Next up for me will be the F-80.
