So far the work has been too good to limit it...
SHOW US WHAT YA GOT !!!Party [party]Propeller [8-]Party [party]Propeller [8-]Sign - Welcome [#welcome]Propeller [8-]Party [party]Propeller [8-]Party [party]
Please post all and any progress or completed projects here.
Looking forward to seeing everyone's submissions...

Criteria:

Out of the box. Following IPMS guidelines. Aftermarket decals and seatbelts are ok. If the kit included resin or PE then it was in the box when purchased so it is OOTB. Subject is aircraft, military, civil or experimental. Aircraft developed or in use from 1940 to 1949. All scales. Jets and props.

The following aircaft are spoken for but there is always room for more...
Since this is a very broad subject when you post your work it would be appreciated to include some sort of synopsis on any research done on the aircraft...

Cool [8D] My Trumpeter F-105D for the 'After The Battle' GB is on the paint rack for it's camo and as soon as I paint it tomorrow, I'll move my Hasegawa F-86 onto the assembly bench for this GB along with my Tamiya F-4E for another GB on ARC. Things are getting hot now!Thumbs Up [tup]

For those of you on the east coast...perhaps you are at work like me...have you gone through your mental checklist for supplies and tools for the start of this build yet? The clocking is no longer ticking, it is thundering...

FLASHING....FLASHING...too "M U C H" flashing. After HOURS of removing all the flashing from the kit I'm ready to start painting and assembling the office. Actully the detail on this kit is great, just needs some TLC and time, oh yeah and some patients.

Started last night (figured it was June 1st in most places of the world so that was good enough for meBig Smile [:D]). No pictures because the digital camera is busted.Sad [:(] Wife is getting a new digital camera next week for her birthday, but I don't want to open her present over something like this.

Flightdeck (minus seatbelts) and wing are in place. Fuselage and armament will be closed up later in the week and attached to wing. I am running out of shelf space so this one will be done with the gear up just like on the box art so I can hang it from the ceiling.

Did some work on mine this morning. I haven't built a 1/32 kit in 20 years, but this Hasegawa Frank is really excellent. Dry fitting of major components shows great fit. Won't need much filler on this one.

I started mine at midnight :) I really just broke it out of the plastic and started test fitting. I did manage to glue some minor pieces together. I will post some pics when it looks like something

I've started slapping my V-1 together. There's not many parts, and the fit is as you'd expect from Tamiya.
I'm going to trial Tamiya aerosol sprays on this .I 've used airframe silver and some car colours before, but never camo colours. I won't even have to clean out the airbrush that way. I'm getting really lazy, and this is going to be a quick one.
BTW, there is not much joy in building the dolly it resides on,all that framework aand stuff. I on't know how guys build models of oil rigs and thing like that.

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

Tony, I built the Tamiya V-1 several years ago when it was first released. It's a quick , fun build. The dolly really isn't that difficult once you get started on it.

I did the MPM V1 back in December...you know what amazed me was the number of markings on it...I assumed you only need to know where to light the fuse...LOLEvil [}:)]

I closed up the fuselage and attached it to the wing and put on the stabilizers last night; then remembered I forgot to drill the tiny holes in the sides of the fuselage to route the antennae. DOH! Adding the wire antennae that attach to the stabilizers on the XF5F-1 is ok for this OOTBGB right? If not, maybe it was one of those rare "good thing I forgot" scenarios. Big Smile [:D] I also found I forgot to paint some of the upper surfaces of the flightdeck. Shouldn't be too hard to mask off and remedy that small oversight when the time comes. Jeez... I take one month off from building and I'm pulling rookie mistakes. Hopefully this build will knock the rust off.Wink [;)]

Sure wish I could share pics. Promise I'll take them as soon as the wife gets her camera for her b-day.

Roadkill - This is my first attempt with Alclad too. Cannot wait to see how our planes come out and see if the results live up to the reputation that precedes it.

Just back from Connecticut yesterday and the US v. Wales test match...The US got worked if you are curious...77-3.

Now onto to other things...Dragonfly, I just realized that an A4C is outside the parameters for this build...sorry, my enthusiasm for Scooters and a new participant got the better of meBlush [:I]...Civil, Military or Experimental aircraft from 1940-1949 arer acceptable...Just as a suggestion a Luftwaffe '46 project would be cool....

I will be posting progress soon.

My Me-163 is the Testors kit...only three steps to assemble...I am regretting my selection of this kit and not something a bit more challenging....I will focus on the finishing then...

The Tamiya V1 certainly is an easy build. I've completed the dolly, sprayed grey. I added some black to make the undersurfaces darker, and white to make the uppersurfaces lighter, but you can't really tell in the photo. I'd rate this as the most boring bit.

The body is also assembled. Not a completely clean fit, but not bad. I thought I might as well prime it with light blue, as that is the underside color. I used Tamiya aerosol for the first time, and it does go on really nicely, as you would expect. It's a bit of an expensive option, but if you are going for a quick, clean build, it takes out the clean up time.
Sorry 'bout the crap photo.

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

a little progress from me.

the pit is together. the "pebbles" in the paint appear to be air bubbles from the stirring of the paint.

Nice look Joe...by the way those are not pebbles, but a highly advanced form of "weathering"Wink [;)]

Keep them coming...I may not post anything on mine until completion...The Testors kit is fun, but a bit of an "embarassment" to consider it a build...

Hey Joe, sorry about the Scooter. In my enthusiasm to get in this OOTB build, I forgot to look at the parameters. The only kit I have on the shelf that I haven't bought a bunch of after market goodies for is the new Hase. P-40E. I hope this qualify's, and you'll still let me in. I haven't gotten along very far on the Skyhawk anyway, so It,s no big deal to shift gears, and start a different kit. Again I appologize for my faux paux.

I'm an idiot!

Cool [8D]Hi gang. Here are some shots of my work for this GB so far. More to come tomorrow.
I’m using Bare Metal Foil for this one, (one of my favorite techniques).

Nice work...I am a little ambivalent on BMF...tried it and got frustrated with the results, maybe my expectations were too high...

Joe,

Do you have room for one more? I have the Trumpeter A6M2 Zero and A6M2-N Rufe ready to build. If they are taken I have many other aircraft of that period.

Thanks,
Richard
