Richard,

Wow, that looks like a great kit. There's a lot of detail there for an ootb kit. You've definitely done justice to a kit I'm going to have to try. Again, beautifull work, cant' wait to see the rest of the build.

Wow, the builds are really looking great!
The He-111 that I'm working on is proving to be a bear to assememble! I just got the wings and tailplanes on tonight, makes me remember why I love this hobbie in the first place. Cool [8D] I'll try and post some progress pictures as soon as I can. Good luck everyone!!

Joe

I am definitely absolutely still in but I am going to change to a Yak-7D just to mix it up a bit since there is a P-40 already in here. Anbd that way I will use the Curtis for the P-40 GB. Not fair to expect to be able to have it apply for both.

Just a Quick peek at my progress so far. Tamiya 1/72 Bell X1. Pretty much a shake and bake from the looks of it...

The cockpit prior to install. This kit could make a detailer real happy...lots of room for improvements.

Pit in and waiting for the other half to come up.

"...and now for something completely different..."
Just a quick shot of my workbench...Why? why not...

Not real exciting I know, but progress is progress! Hope all enjoy...

you know Joe I don't think there was much detail to begin with in the actual X-1

On the workbench: Dragon 1/350 scale Ticonderoga class USS BunkerHill 1/720 scale Italeri USS Harry S. Truman 1/72 scale Encore Yak-6

Joe,

Just trying to think of a situation for when you would need to take that saw blade on the wall to your X-1.Confused [%-)]Big Smile [:D]

Must be there for that cut-away of the Lancaster you've been planning, right?Wink [;)]

P.S. The second coat of Chrome Yellow is on the XF5F-1 Skyrocket. Not pleased with the results so far. Never had good luck with yellow. I think I'll prime with Tamiya Yellow then spray on the MM Chrome Yellow to get a more uniform finish.

Current and Subsequent Projects:
1/48 scale Tamiya P-47 "Razorback" - Complete
1/48 scale Testors/Lone Star Models PT-22 Recruit - 20% Complete
1/48 scale Monogram C-47 Skytrain - Not Started

Never mind the saw blade, I can just see Joe taking those cleats to a project out of frustration!!!! Would hate to see those accidentally fall on a project too! Shock [:O]

What is it with yellow and white? I actually avoid schemes that call for them due to the frustration level...then the saw of the cleats get broken out and the work bench does not look so clean!!!

Hey Joe.... you're gonna want to take the cleats and saw blade out on me, cause I want to change my kit to a tamiya 1/48 Do335B-2 PFEIL. I'm trying to get into the P-40 GB with my Hawk. So, if it's not too much trouble, switch me over.

Oh yeah........Go Brownies.

hi yas all,
Finally got to do some work on the La-7 (While a half a dozen other projects dry).
It is Gavia's La-7 and a pretty neat kit. Comes with a resin conversion for the 3 20mm nose and PE fret. The detail in the cockpit is soft and the PE really helps it
(as well as some odds and ends).
I am sorry about te slightly blurry pict - too many objects for proper auto focus
it'll be different when I get the pit painted.
3d modelling is an option a true mental excercise in frusrtation

Ok guys, this my 3rd, and I promise, my last and final entry for this GB. This is the CP of the TamiyaDo335B-2. The only beef I have about this kit is the numerous injecter marks. Other than that It seems to be a great kit so far. At one time I thought this aircraft looked awkward, but now It's kinda growing on me.

Cheers,

Jerry
