Outstanding Chris, that's a beautifull addition to the GB. I've foiled several kits now , and I know how much work you put into it. Congratulations on a very fine build.

A6EFAN-----------> I must say she is beautiful. You should be very happy.

As for myself I managed to get some painting done. The MC-202 is still a ways off from finished but heres some progress pix.

Thanks for the compliments gents they are very much appriciated. And the MC-202 that Skarpotchi is doing is coming along and it looks great! Now I have to finish my fiancee's 1/144 Space Shuttle, (she's a science teacher and needs it for next months section on space). Then I can get moving on my 1/32 Trumpeter MiG-21in BMF for the Planes of the Red Star GB and my F-8E for the ARC GB.
This was a fun GB and I have plenty more to look forward to.
Cool [8D]Thumbs Up [tup]

I must unfortunately withdraw from this GB. I've been really busy at work (USAF) since we have no manning, I've been pulling over 80 hour workweeks for the last 1.5 months, and dealing with an impending ORI (big inspection). My days off are consumed by appointments, and I barely have any time with my wife. I knew I was in trouble when I went to the LHS to buy paints for the Me 262, and found myself dreading the task of finding time to do a good job on the aircraft and meet the deadline.

Gah, I hate quitting at anything, but the job and family come first. Sorry ladies and gents. Disapprove [V] Dang, and I really liked the GB badge too! Clown [:o)]

Jon,

I know what you are going through as I am a retired 31 year Air Force member and have done many times just what you are doing now. When you get a chance to finish your bird there will probably be another group build you can enter it in. Good luck with the ORI.

Skarpotchi - neat looking Macchi.

Skarpotchi Love those Maachi's and the camo job on yours looks great. Any chance of getting a closer look at that engine on your next round of photos?

oh ya... upadate on the B-17. Getting lots of time to work on it this weekend so I still hope to make the deadline. Tongue [:P]

Making some progress on my 1/32 Hasegawa Frank. I'm doing this as a Special Attack aircraft of 57 Shinbu-Tai. Some references show these Franks to be painted black, but most researchers agree that they were painted a very dark brown drab. Some witness accounts describe the color as dark chocolate. An exact color is unknown, so I opted to use ModelMaster Burnt Umber over IJA grey. At least it matches the two color profiles I have Smile [:)]. Enough gab, here's the pics.

It's gonna be close, but I think I'll finish by the deadline. Better late than never.

Regards, Rick

Well it took me a while but here are some update pix of the MC-202 engine, all I need to do now is gloss, decal, and hit it with flat.
Enjoy.

Looking good Rick! Thats a nice smooth looking paint job. Funny but without any of the details on at this point it is really hard to guess what scale it is (if you hadn't told us).

Gees... I just finish commenting on one build and in the time it took me to post up pops another one!

Looking good skarpotchi! Thumbs Up [tup] Thanks for getting a close up of that engine. It looks great !

As for my progress I put a primer coat on the seams today. Not particularily happy with them but would likely do more damage than good if I tried to fix them at this point. I'll finish painting the underside and then mask the canopy pieces. Looking at the ball turret and upper turret I think I might be better off painting those by hand. Those tiny slivers will be hard to mask. I'm also still waiting for some decals to arrive for it that I ordered some time ago!!!Disapprove [V] I hate waiting!! Like Rick I'll be pushing the deadline a bit.

All:
I got my 1/48 Tamiya Razorback done this weekend. As I was taking pictures outside, a gust from the remnants of Rita picked up the cardboard background and it all hit the deck! Thankfully, I was able to quickly repair the resulting slight damage, as you can see in the following pictures.

I've not done any weathering on this one - maybe later...

Joe, you can update the master list now!

All, it's been fun, and I'm glad to have this done BEFORE the deadline - a first for me!
Dave On the bench: 1/48 F-105D - a bird my friend's dad was shot down in - and survived.

Thanks for all the kind replies yall, sorry so late.

dstrebe---------------------> The P-47 looks amazing.

It's gonna be at least a week until I can get back into my hobby room. I made sure all my models and hobby supplies were packed up. Lucky for us only a few downed trees limbs in the yard, right now the biggest problem is GAS. Thanks to Rita none of the gas stations around me have gas. Plus the cable is out and I need my MILITARY CHANNEL fix.......Angry [:(!]Angry [:(!]Angry [:(!]

Whew!!! Thank goodness for that. Tongue [:P] I'm still working away on it and hope to finish it this weekend BUT THAT'S ONLY IF MY BLASTED DECALS EVER ARRIVE!!! Stuff usually gets stuffed up in Customs for awhile but I've never had one take this long before. Anyway a couple of progress pics in the meantime. She's all painted and I've painted most of the other parts with the engines ready for assembly and the landing gear is almost ready too. Other than that its pretty much ready for the decals.

This pic shows off all the faults (overspray on the fusealage and windows that sit in too far etc. but I just thought it was a cool shot. Big Smile [:D] Need to put some future on tomorrow before I get too many finger prints on it.

Dave,

Nice Fort! Looking forward to the final product....so customes in Canada are as bad as here in the US. Had a bad experience getting our jerseys in a few years back. Seeing as there were 50% cotton they needed to be quarantined! They were'nt even worn yet...thats when they surely need to be quarantined!Tongue [:P]
