Hi Guys,

Well, as I mentioned to Ed on the general site, I'd be happy to serve as an additional resource for your group project.  Having studied these craft for decades, I have material that you might otherwise have difficulty accessing.  I have a lot on RN and USN types, a fair amount on Italian Navy types, and a bit on Kriegsmarine and other types.  So, if you can't find what you're seeking through more common channels, let me know.  I'll try to be useful... :-}

Thank you for coming aboard Al. You've been most helpful in my research on the 4M2500s Now if I can only get ahold of the supplies....Mischief [:-,]  Like he said y'all, if ya can't find certain details through regular channels, Al will see what he can dig up on the subject.

OK people, listen up here.

May I ask if you'll all do me a favor?  Since I've just have a 56.6K dial-up modem at home, when all of you finally do submit your work to me for judging - please send in a format that will allow me to download it quickly and painlessly.  Thank you.

I'll look for historical accuracy, best looking model and the like.  But, please I WANT you to understand one thing; this is a hobby, not the be-all and end-all of life as we know it.  Have fun and stay happy - don't get all stressed over  things like that boat had that item one millimeter to the left of that hatch.

It is a hobby people - have fun with it.  OK?

Garth

Jon, I'm sorry to hear yer leaving us so soonSad [:(]Confused [%-)] Do keep an eye on this thread as I'm quite sure you'll see alot of interesting ideas coming from usBig Smile [:D]  I highly recommend those 3 books (Allied Coastal Forces of WWII. vol 2, American PT Boats in WWII & PT Boats in Action)
The Italeri 1/35  80' Elco is a late war PT Boat based on John Lambert's plans on [iirc] PT 659 (co-author of ACF vol 2) There are places such as floatingdrydock that have plans for sale (see my link PT-109 in ships as they are in there)
I can understand what ya mean about wanting to get all the info before starting a build. I've done  alot on the subject of the interior & there's not much online but, the books are great & so are the plans. (I haven't ordered them yet.)
Good luck  with your move & all.

Hippy-ed,

you are correct, it IS the Lindberg 1/32 PT109, must have been having a 'senior moment'Oops [oops]

thanks for the superb pics & suggestions for reference books, i will be looking them up as i can.

Regretfully, I won't be joining you on the GB,

as I've got FAR too much to do, need to get some serious paperwork finished, I'm moving again, my stash is growing out of hand (again)! & the kit itself is a 'rescue' kit, started by previous owner, but mostly complete.

Also, i'm a bit obsessive about interior detailing, so i like to collect as much info as possible before i start!

Thanks again & gook luck!

Jon UK

ps is the new Italeri 80' ELCO boat the same build series?  I ask because the Lindberg 1/32 (?) LCVP is almost the dimensions as the Itasleri LCVP?
