Looks like you and I may be the last of the Viper builders, Kenny.

I can't see the pictures above because I'm at work, but I hope that
you will continue to post pictures of that beautiful 1/32 Tamiya F-16C.
I am very interested in that kit.  I read about all the incredible features
it has: removable engine assembly, changable weapons.  It would
be neat to engineer a canopy that could be switched from open to
closed.

Good luck on your build, and keep posted.  I have a few months
left on my build too.

Watch out for that lone Viper coming outta the sun at ya! Evil [}:)]

I still am at my CO National Guard in Tiger Stripes.  Biggest road-block is that I need a airbrush spray booth due to the weather here in Denver; the budget office has shut off all funds to the factory; and I have been working too much during the day.  I think I might have gathered up what I need to make the booth except for the fan exhaust system.  I am hoping that the budget office might allow me to keep some of my OT for the fan.

I know, I am LATE! Thumbs Down [tdn] Angry [:(!] But, better late than never (which I confess I am guilty of on a couple of other Group Builds). Wink [;)]

Here she is, the Colorado National Guard F-16 from the Tiger Meet of the Americas, August 8-13, 2001 (hosted by the CONG @ Buckly AFB, CO).

I used the Academy kit, and the decals were designed for the Hasegawa kit, so I had some placement work.  Some of the stripes are 'my intereptation' so are not exact.  The other thing that I changed was the colored stripe across the tail (should have been the gray screened set).

I should apply an overall Dull Coat now, and since I have not put a pilot in, maybe some "Remove Before Flight" flags are in order.

Then perhaps it's possible for me to join too. I got an old Airfix F-16B (1/72) Belgian Air Force, that I just started.

Awesome,
I hope you'll post a lot of pictures of that new F-16 kit.  I'm very interested in it.

MPH34, I still haven't seen your photos.
This pics don't load for me here at work so I'll have to check it out from home tonight.

Sure I will do so Smile [:)]. My camera is sitting on a trypod next to my bench - always ready to take a shot.

I have my research almost done, walk around, some decals and ... soon will start building my first jet. To be honest: I am a bit scared - I never did a jet before - so it will be my first. I hope Tamiya will not dissapoint me and their well engineered kit will act accordingly Smile [:)]

I've just started assembling and painting the cockpit, fuselage parts and the pilots. A bit unsure about the pilots (Belgian AF), but I painted their suits in Hu86.

Sorry for the lousy pic, but I'll try to borrow a decent camera and take better pics later.

MPH, I finally got to see your completed model.
That's a neat scheme, it must have been difficult to paint.
Great work!

I'm moving to a new house, so I've been shut down for a while.

Actually, TwoBobs Decals had (sheet out of production now) the decals for this F-16.  I got the CD with it, so I had a great amount of photos to refer to as well.  I did have some touch-up with the semi-gloss black to do, but otherwise, the decals were of great quality, and lined up almost exactly.

Finally doing some progress Smile [:)]

Here's one shoot with only the pupil, just to show that the handle is there.

And one one shoot with both pilots.

Now on to building the rest of the plane Smile [:)]

Small update. I assembled cockpit and fuselage, and also puttied and sanded, and puttied some more. Smile [:)]

The pressure got to high for the pilots so they bailed out Smile [:)]

At the arrow there is a sinkhole and on the other side too, aswell as on the other side of the gunport. Have to do some puttying and sanding there too. Then I'll glue the wings which I guess will need some putty too.

That's coming along nicely, Azgaron.

Mine has been in cold storage all summer.  I'm starting to get all
the hobby tools out now that the weather is getting colder.

Thanks!

Stupidly enough I've entered this kit in another GB that ends the 15th. Not sure if I'm going to make it Smile [:)]

Yes, it's nicer to sit inside and build now when it's getting colder and darker.

Thanks Kenny!

I guess there are quite a lot of builders that have unfinished projects to cath up with. I'm one of them too Smile [:)]

Sign - Ditto [#ditto] But it is Football season now (though the Broncos suck this year), Hockey season has started (Go Avs!), and the Rockies are making some noise in the Playoffs, so I too may get some work done.

What's that? I never heard of such seasons before Big Smile [:D] For me it's model building season all year round Smile [:)] But if it means that you can get some building done it's Ok Smile [:)]

Here's some more progress pics!

Dry fitted pilots and canopy.

The underside, needs some more white though.

I've masked the canopy. A bit tricky, but I hope it turns out Ok Smile [:)]

I'll paint the frame black first and then grey. I'm not sure how to do with the inside. Maybe I'll do a flat coat on the inside of the frame.
