Richie I tend to agree with Richard (is there an echo in here?)

I think a little less is more in this case. You've done a fab job. That pit is A N S!

Richie, The pit looks very good as is.  At this stage, I would forgo the wash.

Here's a couple of pics of the office tub. I haven't put the raw sienna wash on that I was planning on yet. Keep thinking, does it really need it? Open for opinions. Next is the pit sides and then to tackle the E&T engine. I held it behind the cowl ring yesterday to get an idea of what it will look like, and was quite pleased. The only reason the plastic is bare on the back of the IP is that it won't be seen at all. Enjoy!

Trying a few things. Using Tamiya flat black first to give it depth and a bit of grime, then dry-picked (that is a toothpick) some sliver to show wear on the floor and foot trough areas. Then might use a lil bit of raw sienna for some dust effect. They did operate from quickly prepared fields with PSP after all. Almost finished with the tub, or as far as I want to go with it anyway.Burger [BG]

Hey Ritchie Good to hear! I was going to ask ya what you use for a wash to tone them down. I have heard a burnt sienna works well on the green zinc chromate but heard others use a darker green. Some use the Model master pre mixed wash? All has be stimied. I'm working on that Ventura and trying to make an interior so I am looking for some advice on things like that.

Anyone feel free to chime in as there may be a lot of different techniques and prefs?

Wonderful stories guys!!! Great buys as well!!!! I would very much like to build a 1/72 DD and make it R/C. Want to do a Fletcher class but might have to settle for summit I can find plans for.

Little progress on the Corsair, still working on the pit. Starting to look like an office now. Giving it a wash to try to tone down the green.

Cheers, Richie

Things are looking ship-shape, well done.  Visited the local Hobby Lobby and checked out the clearence bin, came away with 2 Minicraft Models 1/144 airliners for $5 each.  Marked down fron $25.  They are, American Ailines DC-4 and United States Postal Service 727-200.  Always wanted to do some airlinesTongue [:P] and for the price why not.

It doesn't matter to me if ye be telling a yarn but the Unkindly Bondo may take offense. You know how he be with women about the ship. Though he had a couple a cutied aside him the e'r day.
