Well I be up at 0500!Pirate [oX)]....the Fair Backside slept in until 6:45! The wench!

Forecast is Rain and Thunder for Block Island until Sunday! So we won't be heading out on the Sound soon! Yippee! We're doing something, just don't know what.Wink [;)] Man, that woman can putz around!

With the newfound confidence from my SBD build over in the A/C forum, I have un-shelved the SeaGlad (late entry for the FAA GB!) and Tex Gay's TBD for this version of the GB. I'm not diving right in, just refamiliarizing and doing a little prep work this a.m. (While I wait for herself to get her act together!)

The SBD 'experiment' is not on a back burner by any stretch! Depending on what happens today, the SBD will be buttoned up by tomorrow night, if not sooner.

Pirate [oX)]Me has the inklin' that me day will entails lunch or evening chow and cockstails at the Captain's Cove here in Bridgeport (a likely spot!) and then...............?

The blasted and indignity!

Sorry I must leave ye this early.....the woman shall pay!

(And I not be buyin' a Block Island T-Shirt!)

Thanks Guys, I built it a couple of years ago for the Canadian GB.

Rithcie I saw the WE Pe sets for this but the costs were a bit pricey for my pocket book.

That 'flying porcupine' looks GREAT Dave!!!!!! I have that same kit and if I can make it look half as good as that one I'll be happy. A mate at work has built that kit as well. He put in the FULL White Ensign PE sets for the interior and exterior. He took progress pics, and then buttoned it up. It looks great too!!! Myself, I will probably suffice with an external set and concentrate on a nice finish.

Australia has a rather nice museum right up the road from me at RAAF Point Cook. I just went in one hangar there when they had an air pageant there. Got to see a Spit fly !!!!!! WOOHOO!! There was a Walrus, Avro 504K, Se.5a, Tiger Moth, Farman Fighter of some sort, A-20, Macchi MB326, Huey. So if you come to OZ it would be worth seeing.

Aaron I've got more pics of R-2800's.

Cheers, Richie

My kids go to school early to but get out earlier. They changed it because to many parents don't want it to go into June.

Dave I really like the Sunderland. She is a beauty. Been looking at those in your signature animated avi thingie.  I have seen mention of one in 1/48 not re;eased yet. Bet that thing is huge and costly.

Been a good boy and haven't messed with the Goose. You all should be proud.

Alas, tomorrow I go back to school.  Don't know how much building will be getting done between homework and football, but I still have the weekends.

I think I'll have a root beer tot for my last day of summer. Anyone want to join me? (Like I need to give you guys a reasonWink [;)])

Not all, but mostly in the USN....All US States except:

Idaho, Montana, N and S Dakota, Minnesota

Iowa, WYOMING, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Alaska.

South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong (now China), Taiwan, Philippines, Singapore, Australia and a few former WWII Pacific battle site (drive bys....not boots on ground).....Scotland, Germany, France, Kenya and the Seychelles......and Diego Garcia!

You guys have been some cool places I'd love to see......I didn't join the USN to see the world, my mind was set on it from age 12. And then my draft lottery # was 32! I was actually drafted while in USN bootcamp! "Dad, tell them I can't come!"Laugh [(-D]) Wound up in Southeast Asia anyway.....but on a ship. Bow [bow] to those who weren't.

ROY, Outstanding mate!!!  Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]  Been outa work myself once or twice so I know what it means to look forward to a paycheck again.

Nam, have fun on your trip.  Hope the weather co-operates for ya.

Aaron,  What the heck do you mean the Ginger Ale in Canada scares you!!!  Unless things have changed radically since I stopped drinking I'd take our ale over that watered down pe@ you Ameicans call beer any day (well, I used to anyway Blush [:I])  And speaking of the real Ginger Ale, My Grandma in Detroit gave me some Ginger Ale when I was visiting down there when I was a Lad and I swear she accidently gave me turpentine or somethin'.  Man that was evil stuff Evil [}:)].  I envy you guys and your travel but would not want to join the service just for that.  I have been to France and Switzerland once and down to Venezuala once.  Spent my Honeymoon in San Fran/Monteray and did some mountain biking trips to Utah and Arizona.  Never been to the East Coast.  Sigh [sigh]  Not so easy to travel with the whole family (3 kids)these days.

Well, you've seen the hot spots then LOL!! Next time don't miss twentynine Palms!

I've been to China, India and Peru on business which is always kinda fun, esp. when Bechtel is footing the tab.

We're going to do an air museum tour here in CA this Fall, to Travis, McLelland and Castle AFBs. I've got to get it organized but it will be fun.

I was kinda being Sarcastic. LOL Been to Germany and England. Actually Crete , Italy, Egypt, Turkey, Denmark, and the Army paid me to go to the Paris Air Show. Said it was training. Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Never been to Austrailia or New Zealand, or Japan. That would be cool. Only part of California I have seen is NTC, The Mojave, did 16 rotations out there.  Went out to Fort Lewis Washington. 2 summers training ROTC that was nice, even had an earthquake. Mexico from me Fort Bliss days but never Canada even though I lived only 60 miles from the border. ( Ginger Ale scares me) Down here I been to Alabama, New Orleans and the Alamo. The river walk in San Antonio is cool but a touristy trap.  Wife has relatives in Massachusetts so been out your way a few times when I was stationed at Penn State.

I bet you traveled a lot in the Navy as well. Any port in a storm.  I bet Pearl Harbor would be a cool trip.

And how! You said a cup full Bondo! Nam it sounds like a swell trip!  Good company too. Probably beats sitting in the basement putting up with me fer sure!.

Some day we should plan a little trip somewhere model related. Kinda a Group meet up. Logistics would be a nightmare. Austrailia, England, both coast and North and South. Bet it could be done with some thought though. Nothing too elaborate to keep cost down. I dunno, I got a big house with extra rooms and Minivans LOL. Got things all around Houston, Galveston lots of stuff. Malls and beaches for the ladies. Confused [%-)]  Weird thought, maybe others have things near their homes.

Just a thought to stew on for our 25th anniversary here. LOL

Hey....not bad! League City for the western version....then Wake Island or Bali for the eastern version!

Oh wait!....no, there'd have to be two more locales to make it equitable. Maybe....no! Not Paris.....Maybe Berlin.......and.........Tunguska!

Don't work too awful hard. Gotta squeeze in that build time! Glad things are coming together!

I am as happy as a teenager getting a triple no scope kill in Halo, for you! Gotta learn those terms teaching High School.

I ran into my sophomore History teacher yesterday.....he remembered me! 39 years! He's still at it! I'd seen him driving about the last couple years, but hadn't hooked up with him. (I've just been back in CT since '94)

Oy! I must desert the bench for most(all) of tomorrow! Her fair backside the Priss has blackmailed me into a trip to Block Island tomorrow!Boohoo [BH]....she wants to take the first ferry! I have to look that up! I think the first is like 7:30.....means we leave here at 5:30!!!!!

(For those New England challenged folks.....Block Island is out beyond the end of Long Island....it's part of Rhode Island and about a 90 minute ferry trip. It is a beautiful place and great to visit, but I like to plan these trips 5-10 years in advance!)

I have found my batteries (good thing....Block Island y'know!) so the camera will be charged for pics of important stuff tonight!

She's supposed to be working tomorrow! How do they do that? At least she's working Saturday so I don't have to drop a few C's for a B&B! I hope she wants the hydrofoil ferry....faster and I'll insist she pay for it!Pirate [oX)]
