Uughh!!! Was on a very, very, very, very long overnight winter hike with my oldest boy and his Scout group. 3 hours up the mtn. in heavy wet snow (or was that rain?) followed by trying to sleep in a sauna like cabin as someone threw too much wood in the stove just before lights out and with all our wet clothing made for very little sleep. The following day was gorgeous though and almost made the 3 hours back down worthwhile! So what did you all do this weekend? |

Cool.
I have wonderful memories of going winter camping when I was
a young scout. Sleeping in a snow cave was the highlight.
Good on ya for taking a whole new generation up there.
I've been working on the vacuformed hatch without success for awhile,
but this weekend I finally managed to make a shape I liked AND not
destroy it while trying to get it bonded in place. Don't ask me why this
took so long. It was really quite simple in the end, but I have a tendency
of making things more complicated than they should be! LOL
One thing I did that I think helped immensely with getting the fit right
(and also to secure that flimsy piece of plastic in place for profile sanding)
was to cut a step in the aft area of the cockpit for a good lap-joint bond.
I also did some rudamentary control panel scratch-work, but it's not
going to be very visible so I didn't exactly break my neck on the details.
I'm pleased to have that vacuform hatch road-block done. Now I will
approach the next obstacle: re-making the vertical stabilizer. Should
be a walk in the park
Cheers, Fellas.
