Thanks Marc and Kenny!

Here's some more! Smile [:)]

I've glued the fuselage, and set it to dry a while. The upper and lower wing halves are also glued, but the mid section only test fitted. Once I get the wing and fins glued to the body, I can start taking care of the seams.

Thanks Kenny!

I'm going on a trip this weekend to meet some members from a Swedish board irl. Starting out with an exhibit at an LHS. Then we'll continue to the meeting place where we'll talk, build, trade, and have workshops etc. for two days. I guess I'll be going home with more models and stuff than I had, getting there! Smile [:)]

Your Tempest looks great, Azgaron.
That will be a neat model when it is completed.

Well, I have a funny story about my build:
When I was bonding the vacuformed hatch onto my B-58, I became a bit
concerned that I had to flex the material slightly to make it line up with
the fuselage profile.  One of my biggest fears in modelling is completing a
build with material stresses residing in it, then a year later it a seam 'pops'!
That would create a defect that would be nearly impossible to fix.  So...
I got the great idea that I would use a heat gun to soften the material just
enough for it to mold to the proper shape and release the residual stresses.
What I got was a big melted divot in the side!!! LOL.  See what I mean about
making things more difficult for myself?  At least the material stresses are gone.

I had to put a massive layer of putty over the area, will sand tonight after
it has thoroughly dried.

OT:
I've been AWOL for a few weeks.  Summer is coming around and I decided
to build a little RC airplane to add to my collection.  This is my first completely
scratch-built balsa plane.  I hand-cut every part from sticks / sheets.   Sorry
for the diversion, but I thought you guys might appreciate it.

"Summer is coming around"? Wow, I wish I lived somewhere near you, Windhawk...took this pic 5 days ago. It's my driveway.

Looks like I'll have more time to spend on the bench for a while instead of biking. Boohoo [BH]

B-58's looking good, btw. Wink [;)]

Azgaron, the Typhoon is looking very cool.  And very big!

IL, putty fixes everything.  Mostly.  Big Smile [:D]

Dupes, sucks to be you.  Whistling [:-^] Actually, you do have one of the more scenic driveways I've seen, although that's small comfort given the state of cabin fever us northerners have at the moment.  Jeez, that's still a lot of snow!

During the week I have got as far as giving the He162 a coat of Future ready for decals, got the resin wheels off their pour stubs and half painted. Sadly, (I know I probably shouldn't say that) my wife has family from the coast coming in. They're not staying with us, but we will be expected to entertain etc etc. That's going to put a big dent in my plans for bench time this weekend. Anyone else feel the same way when things like this happen?

IL2  That's a nice RC plane is it a 2 ch or more? glad to see you were able to fix your little problem with your B-58.  I'm always worried when I have to apply any type of heat source to a build.  I keep seeing a BIG BLOB of styreneSmile [:)]

Dupes I feel your pain as I watch more snow falling were expecting another 25+ cm (Will it ever endBoohoo [BH])

Paul YUP same here.  This weekend was planning to move fwd the voodoo however we're having all the kids & grand son over for dinner tonight and with all the snow predicted who knows we may have some campers so the odds of getting any bench time is rather slim.  I am looking forward to seeing your He162 finished though.

Have a Great Weekend All.

Az, Il2 looking good guys.  And nice diversion project Sir IL2, used to fly RC myself at one time.

Bear, Dupes, I probably shouldn't tell you this but the snow is almost gone from my yard and the temps are hitting double digits (on the plus side).  Spring is coming and it will work it's way over to your side of the continent soooner rather than later. Cheers! Smile [:)]

Double digits....? That's a good thing?

Oh. You mean CELCIUS. Heh. Wink [;)]

Currently it's pouring rain, which is good. It'll get rid of some of the snow that fell last week...before it snows tomorrow. Angry [:(!]

Dave I'm envious if I see any more snow I'll barf.  I lucked out, this weekend had the boys over and with the weather they wound up staying.   It was realy nice to have all those extra pairs of armsWink [;)]

Dupes the last thing I want to see right now is rain I don't thing my roof could handle it.

Here in Nelson we have had rain almost all day. My shed roof has suffered from a pile of rain a couple of weeks ago though - it's a slightly different shape than it was in the Autumn. Sad [:(]

The snow is dissapearing fast though.

It will be 4 channel, electric powered.

There is an IPMS show in SLC next month.  I'm considering entering my Mig-31
from the last stash build.  Anyone know if you have to be an IPMS member to
compete in such contests?  Or does it differ depending on the contest? Thanks.

I finally have more progress to report. I figured out what the problem with the camera was and back to taking normal photos again. If I had more time I would probably be finished by now as this AM Stormovik is going together very well and the fit is outstanding, only one small are that needed filler. I did break off some small cockpit detail items while sanding and never to be seen again because of the carpet monster.

Prgress should fly along now that the main assemblies are done.
