I finally have more progress to report. I figured out what the problem with the camera was and back to taking normal photos again. If I had more time I would probably be finished by now as this AM Stormovik is going together very well and the fit is outstanding, only one small are that needed filler. I did break off some small cockpit detail items while sanding and never to be seen again because of the carpet monster.

Prgress should fly along now that the main assemblies are done.

Dupes, oops, yes I meant in Celcius!  ...and yes it is a good thing Big Smile [:D]

Il2, I believe it is up to the individual club holding the contest but don't take my word for it.  I have heard of people entering contests who were not members but it would be best to check the rules before heading out.  Best of luck if you do enter.

Dupes, sucks to be you.  Whistling [:-^] Actually, you do have one of the more scenic driveways I've seen, although that's small comfort given the state of cabin fever us northerners have at the moment.  Jeez, that's still a lot of snow!

Amazingly enough, it's almost all from one storm. If we hadn't gotten a few "lucky" patches of rain over the last couple of months, my house would be buried! We haven't had this much snow up here in one winter for many many years. Ouch! Shock [:O] Bike season will start sometime in May at this pace. Ugh.

I have to remember, Canada = Celcius. Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

well i started , i dont wantto be rushing this time around lol

here are a few pictures i added evergreen 1.0 mm styrene to every slat to raise the height of the tie downs a bit. i did this because the molded on ballast looks like bubbled up styrene to me. so instead of painting something i dont like i am going to add model rr ballast. both ends were capped off which i didnt like either so i chopped the ends and capped them with a flat piece of styrene which will be painted black to give the impression th etrack goes on.

i also added a pic of the base i am going to huge oh sorry i ment to say use :)

hope you fellas enjoy the pics once i am done posting back to working on her

Kenny, just for a sense of scale here, how big are we talking about measurement wise for your base?

Also, are you planning on building up the areas around the track? Say for figures, stuff like that? Or just sticking with the railroad bed?

hey dupes, well to answer your questions the bas itself is 4 1/2 ft. x 12 in. pretty darn big. and once she is done i am going to build a lexon glass case for her to keep that nasty dust away.

as for the railroad bed i am going to do some ground work but because i only have 12 in. to play with it only leave me about 2 1/2 in. on both sides to do some minimal ground work. i dont think i will be able to add any extra men but as time goes on we shall see.

Looks really good! Thumbs Up [tup]  The texture of your road bed looks good.  The Trumpeter road bed for the kreigs loco was a little better than bubbled plastic but i still spent 2 weeks layering on paint to get it to actually look like stones.  Is it an optical illusion or do your rails appear to have a slight peak in that one picture?  I gotta say you are a modeling machine today!  Smile [:)]  No turtles for you.   I am unfortunately at a little bit of a stand still.  Or at least not doing what I want to be doing at this stage of the PT boat.  Turns out my helmsman's name must be ol' lefty!  Seems he has 2 left arms and no right.  Now the last time I checked the military (even in times of war) were kinda peticular about service men have all their limbs while on active duty!  So I contacted squadron and they are going to send the missing right arm.  It may ship this week!  Banged Head [banghead]  Now I can be a patient guy but ...  Oh well, it will give me time to make the 2 life vests that the comander and helms man are not wearing.  The other guys I got (actually for the LTV) are wearing theirs like good little soldiers, but is the comander? Nope.  So I'm making 2 to hang on the back wall of the wheelhouse.  Never done that.  We'll see how it turns out.

Ah, that made me laugh out loud.  You need to stop buying big kits, or at the very least putting them up for voting!

So did you find your car yet or is it buried under the snow too? Clown [:o)]  Had a snow storm back in winnipeg when I lived there that completely buried  my neighbours car.   I was fortunate, mine was only buried up to the bottom of the windows. Wink [;)]

Kenny, the tracks are looking nice.  Now where's the big pop gun!!! Propeller [8-]

Kenny,

Nice work with the tracks to your big gun! Love to see how they turns out painted too!

I've been working with the wings on my Tiffie. I started out with the wings glued to the mid section, but the fit was a bit too tight, so I had to break it up. Then I fit the mid section to the body and tried to make it look somewhat Ok. Somehow the right side ended up about 1mm too short, making the right wing overlap a bit where it meets the fuselage. The left side on the other hand, fit very well. After some work I finally got both wings in place!

It still left me with a slight gap on the underside where the mid section meets the wing.

A little filling will sort that out, I think!

Stupidly, I've earlier glued the stabs together without noticing which one goes where! Banged Head [banghead]

I haven't found any good pic that shows how it should look yet!

Cheers,

Azgaron

I'm not dead yet!  Haven't hit the bench for a while because for some reason, my area had a shortage of dull coat.  Then i kinda...uhm....started playing World of Warcraft.  Damn thats addicting.  Anyway.  i got the gloss coat on and will be weathering and attaching the armament.  Oh, and i found out after putting on the rear stabs i didn't put enoughh weight in the nose so BAM tail dragger Banged Head [banghead] I'm gonna try and insert some sinkers in there to help.
