Well Lads I've got some awesome news!!! Party [party]  Look what my wife bought for me at an auction house tonight.

Cool eh! Its perfect, 24" x 44" with locking doors and glass shelves for $200.00.  Even my biggest 4 engine bombers and even the 1/72 Snowberry will fit in it (whenever I get to it Ashamed [*^_^*]).  I'm stoked!!!

Sorry Kenny, don't think the Dora would fit.

Of course there is a method to her generosity (with women there usually is) as she wants me to build another bedroom were the workshop currently resides and wants me to move my modeling stuff into the den off the TV room.  My delaying tactic was that I needed a display case so that my models wouldn't get destroyed by flying objects when the kids are rough housing.  So much for delaying the inevitable.  Sad [:(]  Looks like I got some work cut out for me!

NIce case Dave - I'm jealous of the case, not the whole 'building a bedroom' part though. That's bad!

Our guests have left this morning so I am hoping to get to the bench tonight. All I managaed to get done since last Friday is half a dozen decals on the 162.

Kenny,  The way I rusted my tracks on the loco was by airbrushing all the tracks with a lite colored rust and then used a black wash to enhance the cracks and corners.  Then I went over that with a darker rust thick wash.  Then I went over that dabing lite rust with a stiff bristle brush to give it a sorta speckled look.  After i got the rust look I wanted then I masked the sides and sprayed the top of the rail shiny silver.  Thats just how I did it... can't wait to see how yours turns out. Good luck. Thumbs Up [tup]

And that is one great looking case!

Whew...  it's the weekend.  Guys thanks for the comments on the case.  Sadly I won't even get to fill it up for a couple of weeks as family is decending on us for the Easter weekend and I won't have time or space to do anything with it.  Even then I won't get to set it up in the den until sometime in June as it is being used as a bedroom until our international student theat we are hosting goes home.  In the meantime I have to start working on the other bedroom.

Bear, I don't mind switching places but its the extra work thats going to cut into my modeling time that going to hurt. Thumbs Down [tdn]

Kenny, where's the pics?

I am almost done my other build and then on to the E555.  would have been done last night but I dropped it. Banged Head [banghead]Banged Head [banghead]Banged Head [banghead]

Arki, Steve & Dave  Thanks  its moving along at a turtles paceSmile [:)]  One thing I do find a bit frustrating is the lack of referance books on the Voodoo, most of them are out of printSad [:(] and those that are available are on the paint finishes no walk around or detailed cockpit views.  The web has not been to good either so I guess I'll be using a bit of artistic license.

Bear, nice work on the Voodoo. What PE set is that? I can make out 'Made in England' I think so I am guessing it is an Airwaves set??

I sat at the bench yesterday for a couple of hours and the 162 is all decalled up. Need to do a bit of touch up painting and then it's time for another Klear coat prior to some light panel line washes. I plan on getting a photo up by the end of the day.

Bright sunny morning here in southern BCCool [8D] still cold though.

Paul Thanks and great guessThumbs Up [tup] it is the Airwaves set for the Revell kit.  It's the only pe set available for the Voodoo in 1/72.

Looking forward to seeing your pics

As promised, some pics. These were taken right after spraying a gloss coat, so that explains the shine. This week I hope to add the wheels, finish some more touch up that I missed and then we'll see about a pin wash. The last pic has a part view of a Spitfire XIV so you can see just how small the 162 is.
