Been a while since I posted anything so I thought I would post some progress pics.  Finally all those parts are coming together Smile [:)]

I had to give my cap'n some orthapedic shoes so he could see over the "dash"

gunners on station for patrol

finally!!! deck meets hull.

It's all coming together now... so close I can almost smell it. Big Smile [:D]

Managed to get some time at the bench this weekend and made some good progress on the E555.  I tried something different with the wash this time and it came out much heavier than I had hoped but good enough.  I have it all buttoned up now so as soon as I get the canopy on and a little putty around the vertical stabilizers I'll be ready for paint.

The engine rack is just sitting on there for now and I'll have to paint before I can attach it permanently.

Also, there are a lot of sink holes on this kit but none as problematic as this one.

Anyone got any ideas on how to fix the wheel hub on this?

Dave,

Good looking work! As for that wheel, just drill it out to get rid of the mess inside. cut or punch a disk out of sheet styrene the diameter you need. A slice off of a small rod for the hub and a few needle point rivets for the bolts. Glue it in. Don't drill all the way through if you need the hole in the back to mount the wheel unless you want to fix it too.

Finally getting to my project (Tam Beaufighter) for the GB tonight. I have the interior assembled but need to get the paint done. Since we all know what unpainted plastic looks like I'll post progress pics after I get some paints sprayed.

The Beau is officially on it's way. Painted the interior, added belts (from spares, who knows if they are correct), and buttoned up the fuse. Did some work to the wings and took a break to figure out the wing tip light situation. I'm thinking of cutting out the wing light location and scratching it with some MV lenses.

Any pics of TF MKX wingtip lights would be great!

Thanks for the kind words, guys. Have some more work to report. Done with the majority of the airframe, just need to prime and fix and problem areas that might show up.

Engines are done with just flat black and some gray dry brushing. They really hide in the cowls so I didn't go nuts. Landing gear is just stuck on for the pics. I like how they are made. I should be able to paint the whole thing in subassemblies and then bring it all together in final construction.

Copper? That's what I thought when I read the call out. Tiny bottle Testors is all I had and I think it's to bright. I'll tone it down with a dark wash then the flat coat should bring it in line with what I'd espect to see. I think. My story, sticking to it.

Was going straight OOB but the lights in the wings just screamed for MV lenses, so....

All I have at the moment. Tonight I should be able to finish up prepping for primer then the real fun begins.

hk, you're moving!  Good progress.  I recall the copper color is fairly correct, although I also recall a lot of discussion on this topic for Beaufighters either in this forum or in others.
