I've never heard for sure but I think "motor vehicle" is right. That's what I've been saying anyway.

Oh, oh, I thought the MV was a brand for whatever AM you used. Who's are they, btw? Cool [8D]

Hey guys!!

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days - I got sucked into some other site that some guy is setting up... Whistling [:-^]  been spending a lot of time over there instead of here...  right Kenny...?Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Anyways, the Gneisenau is about wrapped up.  I spend some time last night doing some touch up painting and getting the last few bits ready to apply.  I did not really do anything extreme with it, I specifically avoided using any PE or other aftermarket stuff.  The only real additions I have made are to replace the kits anchor chains with an actual chain from the model railroad store (I think it is a little large, but not too bad - and I need it to represent the ship at anchor...), and to paint the German flag.  There are no decals included with this kit (which surprised me a little) so I am using a piece of foil wrap from an easter candy to recreate a flag.  I also have to paint the insignias on the wings of the two planes...  Oi!! Banged Head [banghead]

I hope to spend some time at the bench tonight, so maybe I'll have some pics up later.

P.S.  HK, nice work on that Beaufighter - makes me want to get one...

The MV may in fact be the manufacturer as well.  I believe Sprue Brothers carries them.

Well, I will actually start on this GB tonight by washing the sprues.  Party [party]

Work tonight consisted of canopy installation and masking and some painting of small stuff like props and wheels. I also masked off the copper on the cowls. Speaking of the cowls I managed to tone down that bright copper a notch or two and I really like it. I'll give details when the kit is done.

So for now the entire kit is ready for primer, but I ran out of steam so instead of pushing on and screwing something up, I gave up. To be continued tomorrow night.

Wow, I leave you guys alone for a couple of weeks and you all go crazy Big Smile [:D]

Fantastic work on all the builds From the seam filling on the Hog to the Paint on the ELCO I'm loving everything that has been posted on this sight. Oh BTW I had to join the other forum just to keep tabs on youse guyz.

I have been making no progress on the Big Beautiful Doll and won't until Uncle George Dubya sends me a tax rebate so I can stimulate the camera economy. I haven't been able to get it to work so ....

Oh boy, I had a birthday Happy B-Day [bday] I got a Tamiys Pak 40, an Edward Hellfighter, which happens to be probably the most beautifully detailed kit I have ever seen,an Edward FW-190,  a Tamiya Walker Bulldog, a Dragon Marder III, a USS Constitution and a Bubble canopy MASH hellicopter. And those are just the ones I remember!!!

I need more birthdays Happy B-Day [bday]. I started to close up the fusalage on the Mustang when I decided I was working way too fast for this GB and dropped it. (and broke it into lots of pieces)Now I feel better because I am right on schedule for the Turtle award.

I have one thing to say......

If someone ever makes kobuki tape cut to the size of standard (18"?) invasion stripes in all scales, I'll buy it.

Heya, fellas.
Sorry I've been awol for a while, but I have been checking in at least weekly to scan everyones photo updates.  There are some neat builds this time around, and it's particulary awesome to see a few of you guys making even better models than last time.  I guess a year worth of building can really teach you alot.  I feel like I've learned more than I can remember.

Paul, you He162 looks fantabulous my man.  It's such a neat little plane and yours will be a great model.

It's cool to see Bear's voodoo taking form.  Gotta love the lines on that plane.  I'm sure that's what some of you guys were thinking when you voted on it too!

Mist, the finish on your A10 is just going to be awesome.  Looks way cool already.

Razor's weirdo Luftwaffe plane reminds me of the Millenium Falcon, LOL.  Great work on the cockpit.  I'm looking forward to seeing your completed model

BBrown, your warship is coming along right nicely.  Are you planning a diorama or display stand of some type?  Would also look good on the shelf as it is!

Also cool details by hkshooter.  I particularly liked the light-modification on your Beaufighter.

Raptor, you're a mad-man!!  I can't beleive how fast you are.  Nuts, dude.  B.T.W., I don't think I'm gonna make IMPSSLS this year - I got a family trip that weekend.

Results, your boat is jaw-dropping dramatic.   Really beautiful work.  I hope you'll give us some wide-angle shots when she's done so we can see how it all comes together when you look at it in one view.  Seriously, it only takes a minor bit of imagination to see it dicing thorough waves in those photos.

Here's the B-58.  I'm starting to see light at the end of the tunnel for all the re-shaping efforts.  it's won't be long before I'm re-scribing panel lines and moving on to the component assmeblies (engines, mostly).  The tail mod went fairly cleanly: i just cut the bottom 1/2" off, for the most part, then widenned the slot in the fuse and superglued it back in.  I still have alot of work to do there though (shaping, adding detail).

One last shot before decals. The next time I post a pic it will be of a finished project. At this point all the painting is done. Only decals and weathering remain. Oh, and a few touch ups.
