Darson,

Is that the T34/76-1943?  I'm building the old Tamiya kit (#35059) right now.  I have a few heads-up for you if it is the same kit.  I chose to do the 2-scheme camo'.

I like this as your choice for GB!  I debated doin' the winter camo' but had just finished two kits that way so wanted to try something else.(Stug III & Krupp Protze, you can check them out in my posts in armor)  Get your hands on "T34 in Action" by Steve Zaloga & James Grandsen, LOTS of good photos (my inspiration photo is on p.30, bottom).

I'm in ths GB too.  I'll be starting a Panther, 4-scheme camo'!  The T34 is perfect to get my feet before tackling that one.

I'll be watchin' for your updates!!!

I have been trawling through my resources and have found one that I'm going to base my model on.  I don't have the exact decals for this but the ones supplied with the kit are pretty darn close.

The caption reads "A tank from the 30th Guards Tank Brigade near Krasnoye Selo during the battles to relive the siege of Leningrad."

Cheers

Espins - hope you luck out! Do you drop subtle hints to the wife, or just walk around the house repeating "new DML Panzer IV...new DML Panzer IV"? Laugh [(-D]

A pleasant combination of both!  I also e-mail her the info for upcoming kits I am interested in.  The fact that I have a page filled out in the wish list at the LHS makes it easy for her too.  Whistling [:-^]

Huh...probably not a very good chance of you getting any local snow-reference pics, eh? Tongue [:P]

Bufflehead - updating now. That kit looks pretty killer...I've been trying to Ebay one, but to no avail. Pretty popular. Was thinking I might do a Pz IV as well, but we'll see - sooo many choices, I think I'll wait until most people have picked their kits before I decide. That, and the stash KEEEEEPS GROOOOWING! Big Smile [:D]

dupes, I've finally decided to do Dragon's new Pz.Kpfw. IV Ausf. I have that kit at the top of my wish list down at my LHS, so hopefully it will wind up under the tree.  Angel [angel]

Thanks for the welcome Dupes.  I don't model exclusively in 1/48 and in fact I have a lot of mega Dragon 1/35 kits at home in the stash, it's just that I'm a fairly slow builder and I find I can churn the little 48th scale kits out for GBs reasonably quickly and get a decent result out of them as well.

Btw it's 90 degrees Fahrenheit here today

Hey hey! Glad to have you Darson! You've been added!

I've heard that that Hobby Boss kit is pretty awesome...and wish they made one in 1/35! Evil [}:)] Do you build exclusively 1/48 armor?

OK put me down for a Hobby Boss 1/48 T-34/76 model 1943.  This is basically a scaled down version of the Trumpy 1/16 scale T-34 and comes with a full interior so it should be fun.

Hmm nothing like doing a winter tank in the middle of eyeball melting summer heat is there Big Smile [:D]

Yes, this GB does require completion to claim your badge. Wink [;)]

In order to put a badge in your profile, just upload it to photobucket (or whatever service you're using to store your model pics). Hit "update profile" and grab the link from photobucket, copy and paste down in the signature section just like any other pic!

Dupes,

Probably not...got a good stockplile of German accessories in the parts box to use.  Joining th North Africa GB too it looks like, got to save the $ for a new kit.

SMJ

Have no idea how to add those badges to my profile.  Help please.  I think this GB requires completed project for the badge, could use this info anyway though.

Dupes-not a problem.  I'll just use the Zendva (sp?) rather than the Dragon T-34 for this GB-should be a quick build and then I can work on my winter weathering techniques for the other GB.

Cheers

SMJ - consider yourself added! Glad to have you in the build...using any aftermarket goodies on that Panther?

Bob - tell you what, why don't we wait, see what you're able to squeeze in...I'd hate to see you miss the GB, but would much rather you not do a crossover...sound o.k.?

Dupes-would it be ok with you to combine GB's, i.e., one build for two GB's?  Might help me get caught up on my GB's 'cause I'm not having much success altering the time space continueium and I can't get this cloning thing to work.....

I'm starting to think I should rename this GB to "T-34 Winter Paint Schemes". Laugh [(-D]

I just picked up the older (not brand new) DML T-34/76 Mod 41 and it has an awwwwwesome winter scheme. Wink [;)]

Oooooh, soooo many choices!

Something Suomilainen, "Finnish," would be neat. Still waiting on the 1/72 Jaguar to arrive.

I'm thinking of changing my build to a Finnish T-34/85, because I have a full interior and PE lined up for when I build Cuckoo, the British panther, and I doubt if I would finish in time.

Here's a pic of my chosen vehicle:

Two to four inches, you say? Wink [;)]

That was last night around 10...it's still coming down pretty steadily now. Looks like I might get some cross country skiing in today! Big Smile [:D]

We got our first snow cement here, too...it was okay when it was coming down, but then it promptly warmed up enough to melt it just a bit, then froze again. So now we have 3" of ice all over...

First real snow of the year here today...really making me want to get this build started!

About 7 or 8 inches so far, looks like there might be another foot by morning.

Think of the photo opportunities for a finished build! Big Smile [:D]

Tamiya Panther G early, Cavalier zimmerit, LionRoar PE and probably Dragon tracks.

Thanks Dupes, I'll need to get the Zim ordered for the Tiger then, but that shouldn't be too much of a problem. Been practicing on some spare hulls for Zim and haven't quite got to where I'd apply it on a "keeper". Been itching to start this Tiger, Big Smile [:D] Just been nervous.

Got 2 options, I can't do the T34/76 cause I've started it, my wife started the T34/85.... So, Tiger I (late) or Hummel (initial version)????? Tiger is the Tamiya kit, Hummel is the Dragon. Input please Dupes.

I don't even know for sure if the Tiger I, being the late version, would be in winter camo.

Hmmmmm....

Either one should be fine. Just let me know!

In my meager reference library I do have some other winter scheme plates if anybody needs some assistance - let me know, I'll probably post some of them anyway to help people decide what they're going to do.
