I've got an F-82. Thing is the markings are gonna be SAC, but let me research the time frame.

Change of plans- the F-82F is pre-war, and based in the US.

But, thanks to The Last Priest, I've got the Tamiya F-84G which does have Korean War markings. And I'll satisfy my Secret Santa, too!

May I join in?

Excellent, Bondoman. In like Flynn. That looks like the 1/72 scale kit.

I'm glad you could join.

Such a great era for warbirds :)

Have not posted here in months, but got in on this GB, and here's 2 pics of WIP, hehe, just to show I am trying...its only my 3rd model so be easy :)

forgot to take off the tape on the vertical fin, has white trim there also.

I used Mr Surfacer 1200, thinned about 25% as a primer.  Dark Sea Blue and Semi Gloss White acrylic.  For the first time, (ya ok in 3 models!) the paint under the tape did not lift :)

Beauftiful job so far, bspeed. The airbrush work looks tremendous and the masking is straight as an arrow. Looking good so far.

THe Mr. Surfacer products make great primer.

bspeed, my friend, looking GOOD! Keep it up. I have some work done also. I`m just about finnished with the basic pit, atleast till I get it sealed up. I do like how the seat came out. I`m proud of it. The harnneses are the OLD Eduard. Nothing painted. Had to paint all of them and tried to make "stiching" on them. But I like it. As usual, all comments welcom.......Harv

all righty this gb is done. i just finished up the 1/35 mash jeep ambulance. . it was built all oob and no weathering done to it at all. i wanted it to be just like it rolled of the assemley line with sugetsions from the guys in the war zone. also if any one has any small white stars and a red cross emblem i sure can use them the ones i had feel apart in the darn water. i got only one pic of it before my camera died on me and my 35 mm is dead too. so here is the only pic i got, now on to my m977 fuel tanker.

Could not get the nose decals to work out...oh well.

will let it stay like this for a while, then maybe some time in the future I may try some weathering.  Trumpeter kit.

my mig and i are still here soakin up all the modeling goodness thats on these pages...no pics yet cause its a pretty streight foward build, even though the cockpit is "ahem" sparse.  ive got the foward fuslage done with wings and the rear is glued together.so as soon as i catch some sleep (3rd shifter here) ill post what ive got.

Speaking of Migs, I was off to a great start and then got interrupted by work, summer and family. As I start to gain some bench time back, I've found a seam in the fuselage that I've gone over 3 times now and just cannot get it out!! Mr. Surfacer and sanding sticks have been used literally. So far the kit has been great and I can't blame a seam on the kit...it's totally operator error.

Here are some progress pics of my F-86F which is technically not part of this group build, but I figured you guys would like them.  I had this about 50% done when this group build started and I want to finish it before I start on my official entry of the A/B-26 Invader.

I used Alclad Aluminum, Duraluminum, Polished Aluminum, and Pale Burnt Metal as well as MM Titanium metalizer on the airframe.  I'm painting the Black and Yellow recognition markings with the black outlines just done with the yellow to go on in a few days.  Thanks!

Steve

Looking good, Steve.  Aren't those fuselage stripes fun to get straight?  The Alclad finish looks nice.

Thanks guys, this F-86 has been a lot of fun to build.  The masking of the recognition stripes is really time consuming, but I think that the final product will make it worth the time.

With any luck I'll have the Mig-15 completed with pics tonight. There are a few details to add and then snap some photos.

I'm thinking of maybe changing my second entry to a T-33 in Korean War markings. I picked up the old Hobbycraft kit in a trade and have since grabbed the True Details resin cockpit.

What do you wean completed?? I`m still only about 1/4 through my 86! I`m sure it will be fantastic, Mucker.  Sat down this morning and glued the intake trunk together(woo hoo). I want to see if I can glue the fusealodge together THEN put the pit and intake w/ front wheelwell in. This would save a big headache. Pics to come later............Harv

At certain points I felt this day would never come: I think the Mig is ready to roll of the assembly line. Forgive the large "seam" in the fuselage...the fore and aft pieces are not glues together so the engine can be displayed. One of the antennas broke off and was lost to the carpet monster...even on concrete! My monster must have adapted over time.

The exterior is Alclad White Aluminum.

With your consent I'll grab a service ribbon for my build.
